    A Framework on Internet Banking Services for the Rationalized Generations

    The augmented Internet Banking Service is increasingly popular both in Bangladesh and elsewhere. This paper explores a predicted framework for global Internet Banking that emphasizes the transformative interaction among the effective customers around the regional, national and global banking indicating advanced on backend models, instructional strategies, and transaction technologies in the context on upcoming generations. We have to develop the framework on global enhanced transaction systems especially individual global account, effective online banking systems to fulfill the required method, implementing design and appraising the feedback with standard technology according to network topology for disseminating of global banking technological arena. Despite decades of development, electronic payments still need practical examples of how to use electronic payment technology within a uniqueness and rationalized way including global electronic transaction, language tools, currency converter and electronic workstation. This research focuses the major issues responsible for Internet Banking based on respondents’ perception through various internet applications. The author presents a theoretical framework for our represented method, taking into account previous models and characteristics of an effective Internet Banking Security. In addition, we illustrate the global technology that we have to expand and execute among the customers’ satisfaction within the expected model. We follow this with an evaluation of achievement, both in the global banking implementation and the amplitude framework according to periodical requirements. Finally, we focus highly developed research trajectories of the model and recommendations for how to further avail the internet banking subscribers to design more secure alternatives.     Talent Management: Three new Perceptions intended for managing and retaining Talent in Bangladesh

    This study aims at investigating the methods, importance, process, and present situation of managing talented employees in Corporations. The study revealed that having talented employees helps organizations to drive and be competitive but it is difficult to acquire such people. Thus, some innovative campaigns, for instance, global trainee and management cycle star programs have been created to motivate talented graduates to join the companies and to motivate existing talented employees to being more dedicated and engaged. In the recruitment of new employees, personality and interpersonal skills were more important than educational background because candidates were deemed to be proficient in specific areas, so, what a candidate must have is a personality matching the company’s culture especially the characteristic of working as a good team member. In this study, we suggested some important steps and methods that can be applied in the organizations which are totally running and managing by the HR Department. Moreover, these methods and steps can become successful by managing low rate of star turnover which is quite sensitive case now a day. JEL Classification Code:  J2

    Is Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) Efficient? A Comparison of Efficiency Before and After the Market Crisis of 2010

    This paper tests for the weak form of efficiency in DSE. A major objective of this paper is to compare and analyse the efficiency of the market before and after the market crash of December, 2010. The sample includes DSEGEN price index daily closing values. The data is divided among two time periods, year 2009-2010 is used to test the efficiency before the market crash and 2011-2012 is used to test the efficiency after the market crash. Kolmogorov-Smirnov and the Shaprio-Wilk tests are used to test the normality of returns and for both the time periods, the returns distributions are non normal. Runs test is used to test for the randomness of returns. The result of runs test is quite interesting. It shows that returns were not random before the market crash. Numerous other previous researches also show non randomness of returns in DSE. But surprisingly random walk is observed for the returns after the market crash. It requires further studies to understand such abnormality. JEL Classification Code:  L11, H1

    Problems and Prospects of SME Financing in Bangladesh

    The present study is conducted to analyze the potential of SMEs in the economy of Bangladesh. Data were collected from 100 SME units by using simple random technique. A structural questionnaire was developed to get the responses from different SME units in the country. For Bangladesh SMEs have assumed special significance for poverty reduction programmes and potential contribution to the overall industrial and economic growth. Some of the constraints related SME financing are identified and some pointers for the future are provided through the study. &nbsp

    Branding strategies for service firms- a study on the selected Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in Bangladesh

    Research work has been done on how to create a brand supporting behaviour but most of the time the existing insights have generally stemmed from research with management, brand practitioner’s and even consumers’ perspectives. Very little has been done to research the employees’ perception towards internal branding and to compare the view of the management and employees’ on internal communication. The existing researches are also done on mostly in the context of the businesses in industrialize countries whereas this research would be an intent to find the internal branding practice in a service firm in a country of developing economy. This would able to identify the gap in the practice of internal branding in different socio-economical context. This research is dedicated to find out both back end and front end skilled employees’ view towards internal communication in a service firm and based on the findings attempt would be done to see whether the staffs perceive their role differently towards the brand. For conducting the research qualitative data were gathered from the qualitative survey by questioning different employee and management about the internal brand communication and the analysis was done on that. With the respondents view on the internal marketing process, the management do not have fully structured plan to implement a sound internal branding strategy. With a given economical constraint it is not always possible to practice all the aspect of management science, but from the study of the company we can see that service firms such as ISP (internet service provider) companies in weaker economical countries could increase the internal communication practice by just altering the existing inter-departmental communication monitored by innovative senior management, co-ordination of HRM and Marketing with input from engineers. &nbsp

    Tourists’ Perception towards Cox’s Bazar Sea Beach in Bangladesh as a Tourist Destination

    The study was carried out on Cox’s Bazar sea beach area, the world longest sea beach and the tourist capital of Bangladesh. The purpose of the present study is to investigate the tourists’ perception towards various facilities and services at Cox’s Bazar sea beach as a tourists’ destination. The study was based on primary as well as secondary data; applied quantitative method and 308 questionnaires were used. The factor analysis was conducted to create correlated variable composites from the original attributes. The results of the study stated that tourists’ perception is favorable on  Factor 1, Natural Beauty and Restful Atmosphere, Factor 3, Accommodation and security, Factor 4, Hospitality and information and Factor 6, Shopping and activities and tourists’ perception is unfavorable on Factor 2, Hygiene and Sanitation  and Factor 5, emergency and caring services. The findings of the current research suggest that there are statistically significant differences in tourists’ perception with respects of respondents’ demographic characteristics such as respondents’ gender, age, occupation and education in some services and facilities at Cox’s Bazar. The findings suggest that the tourism market players, managers and policy makers should ensure up to the mark services with unfavorable factors and differentiated marketing strategies should be stressed and executed by the relevant parties. Therefore, the findings of the study also provided theoretical and practical implications for the planners, marketers and tourism authorities of Cox’s Bazaar in formulating strategies to maintain or enhance their competitiveness.     Consumer Attitude Towards the Cell Phone: A study on Young Generations of Chittagong Metropolitan City, Bangladesh

    Due to increased competition, locally as well as internationally, organizations need a distinguishing element that will keep consumers identifying and buying their product. This study employs to analyze the relationship between demographic variables on the brand preference and is identifying the attributes that affect the choice behavior of mobile hand set as well as why the young consumers give special emphasis to some particular factors in Chittagong metropolitan city. From the study we see that though both male and female respondents now using Nokia (57.92%) hand set but about 50.61% of male & 59.85% of female respondent choices Samsung mobile set as their most favorite brand to next purchase because of android operating system. We also see that both newspaper (39.82%) and television (36.18%) has a great influence over the respondents to choose the above mentioned mobile hand set as their favorite brand. About 67.16 % of respondents are willing to spend money more than Tk. 10,000 to get the test of latest features provided by the various mobile set companies. JEL Classification Code:  E3

    Bank Selection and Patronage By University Students: A Survey of Students in Umudike, Nigeria

    University students represent an attractive segment of customers for retail banks  in many countries including Nigeria. The objective of this study is to find out the determinants of the choice of commercial banks by university students, using Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike (MOUAU). MOUAU is selected due to the plurality of its student mix, being the only federal university in Abia State. Data were collected through self-administered questionnaire to 250 final year students, across the university’s ten colleges. Convenience sampling was used. Apart from the traditional analytical tools such as tables and percentages, data were also analysed using descriptive statistics and principal component analysis. The Cronbach’s alpha was used to test the reliability of the measuring instrument. The results show that service is the most influential of all the six determinant-factors for the choice of commercial banks. Proximity, attractiveness, referrals, marketing and price followed suit, based on their mean scores.  Recommendations were proffered for competitive bank management, focused on different market segments among university students

Remittances have been playing a very significant role for the overall economic development of Bangladesh. Therefore, this paper attempts to explore the actual remittance income and its impact on overall economy of Bangladesh. Recently, the world has suffering from the global financial crisis. That is why, the job opportunities are shrinking drastically for the last couple of years. As a result, the government of Bangladesh is now facing tremendous challenges to send people abroad for employment.     Nation Branding: Beautiful Bangladesh

    Recently a word ‘Nation Branding’ or ‘Branding Bangladesh’ is practiced a lot. A nation brand is the total sum of all perceptions of a nation in the mind of international stakeholders which may contain some of the following elements: people, place, culture, language, history, food, fashion, famous faces (celebrities), global brands, etc. The way for a nation to gain a better reputation is to communicate to the international audience that how good you are, is called nation branding. There is a misconception among most of the people that it is required to develop tourism sector of any country in case of nation branding. But nation branding focuses on the nation as a whole – its people, culture and heritage, investment and immigration, governance, exports and tourism. The objective of this paper is to clarify this misconception about nation branding, help our citizens to know about the branding Bangladesh and reveal the possibilities of branding Bangladesh. Process of nation branding –Nation Brand Index and Country Brand Index are discussed in this paper. This research is based on secondary sources and the researcher comes up with the Nation Branding Hexagon for Bangladesh. Hopefully this paper will be helpful for awaking our consumers and making responsible to come forward for unbeaten nation branding for Bangladesh. &nbsp
