    Vaccine Hesitancy in Europe: The Concept and Determinants During the Covid-19 Pandemic

    Most papers or talks about vaccines and vaccination usually begin by highlighting their huge importance and contribution to public health. This claim certainly has a scientific and medical backup. On the other hand, challenging vaccines and vaccination as a public health measure has been sporadic throughout history ever since the first vaccine was developed [1]. We can say that there has always been a certain discrepancy between scientific evidence and public perceptions about vaccines and vaccination. The concept of vaccine hesitancy has been created to describe and understand those public views and behaviours about vaccines and vaccination. The concept is not entirely new and tied exclusively to the current Covid-19 context, but it is also not as old as vaccines themselves or the first immunization campaigns. The concept of vaccine hesitancy was introduced in the first decades of the 21st century by the World Health Organization as a response to the growing scepticism towards childhood vaccines

    Dielectric and magnetic response of mechanically activated Mn-doped SrTiO3 ceramics

    This research was focused on the influence of manganese (Mn) incorporation at Sr and/or Ti sites on the microstructure, relative dielectric permittivity and specific magnetization of strontium titanate (SrTiO3) ceramics. A solid-state method was used for the preparation of mechanically activated (10, 30 and 120 min) Mn-doped SrTiO3 ceramics with various manganese dioxide (MnO2) weight percentages (1.5, 3 and 6 wt%). Rietveld's analysis showed that the mean crystallite size in doped-activated SrTiO3 ceramics is smaller than in undoped ceramics, which is a consequence of additional crystal structure distortion due to ion substitution. Changes in the Raman spectra indicated dopant incorporation in the SrTiO3 lattice. The microstructural analysis pointed out a decrease in the mean grain size with increasing dopant concentration and time of activation. The highest values of permittivity and magnetization were observed for Mn-doped SrTiO3 ceramic mechanically activated for 120 min. Based on all the above, the optimal electrical and magnetic properties of SrTiO3 ceramics can be achieved by the appropriate choice of mechanical activation time and dopant concentration.Peer-reviewed manuscript: [https://hdl.handle.net/21.15107/rcub_dais_16644

    A Review of Recent Developments in Biopolymer Nano-Based Drug Delivery Systems with Antioxidative Properties: Insights into the Last Five Years

    In recent years, biopolymer-based nano-drug delivery systems with antioxidative properties have gained significant attention in the field of pharmaceutical research. These systems offer promising strategies for targeted and controlled drug delivery while also providing antioxidant effects that can mitigate oxidative stress-related diseases. Generally, the healthcare landscape is constantly evolving, necessitating the continual development of innovative therapeutic approaches and drug delivery systems (DDSs). DDSs play a pivotal role in enhancing treatment efficacy, minimizing adverse effects, and optimizing patient compliance. Among these, nanotechnology-driven delivery approaches have garnered significant attention due to their unique properties, such as improved solubility, controlled release, and targeted delivery. Nanomaterials, including nanoparticles, nanocapsules, nanotubes, etc., offer versatile platforms for drug delivery and tissue engineering applications. Additionally, biopolymer-based DDSs hold immense promise, leveraging natural or synthetic biopolymers to encapsulate drugs and enable targeted and controlled release. These systems offer numerous advantages, including biocompatibility, biodegradability, and low immunogenicity. The utilization of polysaccharides, polynucleotides, proteins, and polyesters as biopolymer matrices further enhances the versatility and applicability of DDSs. Moreover, substances with antioxidative properties have emerged as key players in combating oxidative stress-related diseases, offering protection against cellular damage and chronic illnesses. The development of biopolymer-based nanoformulations with antioxidative properties represents a burgeoning research area, with a substantial increase in publications in recent years. This review provides a comprehensive overview of the recent developments within this area over the past five years. It discusses various biopolymer materials, fabrication techniques, stabilizers, factors influencing degradation, and drug release. Additionally, it highlights emerging trends, challenges, and prospects in this rapidly evolving field

    У раду се анализирају уреднички уводници у часопису „Црквене студије” с тачке гледишта стилистике, првенствено функционалне. Одређују се преовладавајуће стилистичке карактеристике сваког од обраћања, као и поједине језичке функције које имају неки делови ових текстова. Утврђује се зависност анализираних уводних текстова како од врсте и профила научног часописа за који су написани, тако и од индивидуалног стила њиховог аутора.В статье анализируются слова редактора журнала «Црквене студије» с точки зрения функциональной стилистики. Определены преобладающие стилистические характеристики каждого из обращений редактора, а также специфические языковые функции отдельных частей этих текстов. Также подчеркнута зависимость анализируемых вводных текстов от типа и профиля научного журнала, для которого они написаны, а также от индивидуального стиля их автор
