People with disabilities are often excluded from the social construct of functionality and sexual satisfaction, due to the existence of certain negative sexual stereotypes that usually have more serious psychosocial effects than the disability itself. Knowledge is necessary so that the professional, parental and/or social environment does not trivialize or ignore their sexuality.General aim: To provide information on sexual education for people with physical disabilities in Catalonia.Study design: Exploratory, descriptive and cross-sectional study.Sample: 135 surveys from subjects aged over 18 years with physical disability Instrumentation: Sexual Health Survey for People with Physical Disability ESSPDF / 2016.Outcomes: The preliminary results of the sexual education section are presented. 43% of the sample rated the degree of usefulness of the sexual information received as “Very useful/useful” and 9.6% had not received any information. 63% valued the information they had as “Very good/good”.There are significant differences in relation to gender on who would have chosen to receive sexual information (p=0.034), interest to obtain more information on topics such as “receiving information about prostitution” (p=0.01), “love and relationships” (p smaller than 0.001) and the sex of the person they would like to receiveadvise (p=0.014). They showed the greatest interest in topics such as “Ways to get and receive pleasure” and “problems in sexual relationships”.Conclusions: People with physical disabilities still have deficiencies in relation to sexual information. This situation requires the revision of the existing training and intervention programs, aswell as checking the accessibility of the services. It is necessary to work from all existing sex education areas, beyond the health field, such as family, school and society. Sex education should be opened to behavioral and sentimental aspects, thus improving the sexual health intervention of people with physical disabilities.

The study that was presented had as objective to know the representation that circulates and emerges from academic professors of the University of Atacama about the Curriculum-Society Link. To this end, in coherence with the qualitative approach, in this case study the information is known through a semi-structured interview and the tissue of the discourse was analyzed through the analysis of the educational discourse (ADE). The strategy of conversation and documentary review of empirical references was also used. It was understood and concluded that the Curriculum-Society Link should be located at the center of the pedagogical and educational discussion of the curricular subjects of said institution, standing out among the findings: little relevance to the presence of the Cuirritura-Society Link; what is reflected in the curricular organization and triggers important problems in the training and education that is delivered, this accounts for a low articulation of the context and its demands with the curriculum of the University.

We analyze the factorial structure of an instrument to assess young people perception of the adequacy of thirteen strategies to negotiate the use of condoms. The sample consists of 260 undergraduate students (81.4% women, mean age = 21 years, sd = 2.8). Assessments were made with a scale from 0 (not adequate) to 10 (totally adequate). The results of the exploratory factor analysis show that the thirteen strategies are grouped into three factors: in a first factor are the strategies based on the protection provided by the condom (against infections, pregnancies, etc.), in a second factor those requesting more or less directly the use of condom (request its use, show a condom etc.) and, finally, a third factor that includes strategies involving emotional-loaded arguments (blackmail, threatening with not having relationships, etc.)Se analiza la estructura factorial de un instrumento para evaluar la percepción que tienen los jóvenes sobre la adecuación de trece estrategias para negociar el uso del preservativo.

Objective: To know the feelings and opinions of the parents towards the hospitalization in a Pedriatrics unit) Method: It’s a descriptive study, in which was used a 33 sample of parents/other visitant. After the authorization of the Hospital’s Director Council and the inquired informed consent, we proceeded to collect data by conducting a questionnaire at the pediatric unit of the Central Hospital Trás-osMontes e Alto Douro – Vila Real.  Results: The age of the inquired is comprehended between the 21 and 46 years old, and its majority is 30 and 35 years old. 87, 9% of the childred were accompanied by its mother and 15,2% of the children had already been hospitalized from 3 (6,1%) to 5 times (9,1%). During the hospitalization, the parents experienced ambivalent feelings. The most expressive negative feeling were anxiety, sadness and fear. We verified that the children’s hospitalization has forced the parents to adapt to a new routine (93,9%), as well as changes in their social and work life. The inquired considered their relation with the nurse as good (48,5%) and very good (36,3%), with only 9,1% of the inquired considering it as sufficient. Conclusion: t’s crucial in a situation of hospitalization to comprehend the family feelings, where the health professionals, mostly the nurses, must contribute to the development of stratigies that will allow the family and the patient to adapt to the situation.

Background:The onset of sexual activity is a time that has an impact on young people’s lives. It is important to know the motivations for the decision to have sex. Objectives: To determine if sexual satisfaction (relationship and trust) influence the motivation to have sex. Methodology: This is a quantitative, cross-sectional, descriptive and correlational study with a sample of 323 higher education students, with a mean age of 20.68 years (sd = ± 2.54 years). The data collection instrument was a questionnaire that enabled the construction of the sexual characterization. The satisfaction with the sexual relationship scale (Ribeiro and Raimundo, 2005) and Motivation to have or not to have sex (Leal and Maroco, 2010) was also included. The ethical procedures were guaranteed. The data was processed with the SPSS program (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) version 24 for Windows. Results: In the sample 62.5% of the participants have date. Of these 53.2% have been dating for more than two years. The boyfriend/girlfriend (30.7%) and the mother (21.4%) are the preferred interlocutors on sexuality. In the sample, 83.6% already started the sex life. The female (63.2%) values intimacies close to intercourse. 54.2% of females prefer not to have sexual intercourse with more than one person. In the current relationship 69.2% have sex and 81.7% have contraception. Participants reveal positive sexual satisfaction in both relationship and trust. Dating and sexual experience influence sexual satisfaction. Male present hedonism, health, and relational interdependence as reasons for having sex. Participants without sexual experience refer fear and conservatism not to have sex. Sexual satisfaction is predictive of having sex in the dimensions of hedonism and health, and relational interdependence.   Conclusion: We propose the creation of offices in the universities to clarify doubts and to train sexuality-related skills that provide sexual decisions and promote sexual and reproductive health.

The present work consists in the design of a proposal of an individualized intervention program, through affective tutoring, whose main objective is to generate possible changes in the way of facing the reality in the adolescent population, besides training the affective tutors who support and guide young people in their process of change. The proposal arises from the reflection carried out, on the one hand, by the number of cases of young people who exhibit maladaptive behaviours. This maladaptation or maladjustment causes conflicts in different areas of life whose influence and / or consequences are frequently observed in schools. On the other hand, from the appreciation of the lack of clarity and systematization existing in a resource offered as an element of help and support from the attention to diversity: affective mentoring. Thus, we have found a gap on what reeducation measures could be applied in each case, since no specific instruments have been defined that can be used by the affective tutor, nor clearly and concisely delimited by the participating population, since these tutorials are carry out without designating a professional trained in skills and knowledge to serve as help and support from the attention to diversity. Consequently, a proposal for individualized intervention is designed with the aim of overcoming this lack of concreteness and ambiguity in relation to what affective tutoring is, what variables are associated with them and how the tutoring process should be. It is a proposal based on specific theoretical models (theory of the cognitive- affective molds of Hernández-Guanir and third-generation contextual therapies), in which clear criteria are defined to select the participants, specific instruments and materials are designed and They establish sessions that offer specific training for the affective tutors as well as in the techniques and skills necessary for the intervention with the student. The results provided through in-depth interviews conducted with a pilot sample of teachers who have implemented the program, indicate as appropriate the procedure established, since they consider that it attends to the students in their personal, affective and social with positive results in all areas.

The issue of bilingualism in students with intellectual disabilities has been little explored, whether it is simultaneous bilingualism or sequential bilingualism; however, to live in a society marked by phenomena such as globalization, intercommunication and international mobility, in a society that is linguistically and culturally diverse, to attend educational centers where the introduction of a different language as a vehicular language for learning is usual. together with the empirical evidence on the cognitive benefits derived from an additive bilingualism are sufficient reasons to be interested in the possibilities of this group learning a second language.Purpose. Analyze the available information on the ability of people with intellectual disabilities to learn more than one language (L2).Design. Theoretical research. Narrative review.Material: Eleven research articles have been reviewed and we have had access to different forums where professionals and families tell us about the ability of people with intellectual disabilities to learn a L2.Results. The period studied covers from 1991 to 2016; Of the ten articles, two empirical study, a systematic review, a narrative review and seven case descriptions have been found.Conclusions. Taking into account the scarce representativeness of the information found, as can be seen from the results obtained, it can be said that: people with intellectual disabilities can learn two or more languages; they will have corresponding difficulties in regard to various language components and they will exhibit corresponding delays in the development of L2 and L1 learning; the learning of an L2 does not mean a delay in the learning and development of its L1; bilingual children with intellectual disabilities use their dominant language as well as monolingual children for the same level of development.

    Get PDF
In adolescence, alcohol consumption is one of the most demanding health problems. However, both adolescents and society show a low perception of seriousness. In this context, the beginning of consumption might establish differences in patterns, facilitating their consolidation. Therefore, it is analyzed if there are differences between those people who started their consumption before and after 14 years, in terms of frequency of consumption, perceived benefits and problems. For this purpose, 894 young Spaniards between 18 and 22 years old (33.6% men and 67.3% women), completed a questionnaire about health habits aimed at young people. According to results, 99.4% consume alcohol at the present and more than a third percent started before age 14. Men would begin both earlier consumption and their first drunkenness (between 10 and 12 years), showing statistically significant differences compared to women, for the first one (Chi2 = 15.66; p≤, 008). In general, in both men and women, it is observed how people who started the consumption before the age of 14 show a greater frequency. In some cases, as in the daily intake of beer, they double the consumption of those who started it later. In addition, they report more damages due to alcohol consumption, as well as perceiving benefits related to their consumption such as feeling more secure, meeting people more easily, feeling euphoria or fighting boredom more easily. Thus, the results support a greater risk exposure, behavioral and attitudinal, among those people who started drinking earlier. In this way, it is supported the importance of delaying the consumption of alcohol and, consequently, managing preventive plans aimed at younger ages.

The diversity present in university classrooms is an element that teachers are founding. There are many tools to respond to functional diversity and one of them is the tutorial action. The objective of this research is to analyze the scientific production of the tutorial action in the University for students with disabilities. For this purpose, the ISI Web of Science is used and the search terms tutorial action, disability and tutorial action plan are established; in Spanish and English. A sample of 78 articles is obtained and will be studied based on bibliometric indicators such as research areas, categories of the Web of Science, years of publication. The results indicate that the period 2015- 2016 produced the vast majority of the papers. Furthermore, English is the language of greatest scientific production. In spite of this, Spain is the largest producer on the subject, with the University of Granada and Burgos as the most outstanding centres. Finally, Education and Educational Research is the category and area of research where most articles are generated. However, the technological areas are gaining in importance due to the versatility of the technology. As future lines of research, the possibility of analysing the contents studied and the most studied educational areas is proposed.
