Exploring the Influence of Vermicompost Fertilization on Various Growth Parameters and the Yield of Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L): A Comprehensive Study.
The cultivation of tomatoes, a crucial vegetable in the Bikaner diet and widely grown in the region, struggles to meet the demands of the Ivorian population due to low production. Additionally, conventional mineral fertilization, while beneficial, proves costly and inaccessible to small-scale farmers. This study aims to evaluate the impact of organic fertilization using vermicompost on the growth and yield of Solanum lycopersicum L. tomatoes in a Fisher block design. Three vermicompost treatments (T20, T40, T60) and a control (T0) were implemented with four replicates in Bikaner, west-central Bikaner. Seed germination rates were observed over three weeks in the nursery. The height, crown diameter, and vigor index of tomato plants were regularly measured, along with final yield assessments. Results indicate higher germination rates with the lowest vermicompost dose (20 t/ha), while plant height, crown diameter, and vigor index showed accelerated growth with increasing vermicompost doses. The highest values, including a height of 146.76 cm, crown diameter of 38.13 mm, and vigor index of 4.22, were achieved with the highest dose (T60). Similarly, yields were positively influenced by increasing vermicompost doses, with the highest obtained in T60. This study highlights the favorable impact of vermicompost on tomato growth and yield, suggesting that organic fertilization with vermicompost could be a sustainable recommendation for farmers aiming to enhance agricultural productio

The role of epic “Rakṣata Gaṅgām” in saving the Gangā
As we know that we get drinking water mostly from rivers. The culture of all the great nations of the world originated, nurtured and nourished by these rivers. Just as ancient Egyptian culture has been sustained by the Nile river, Mesopotamia (Syria) by Tigris-Euphrates and China\u27s ancient culture by Huangho-Yangtze, similarly the rich Indian culture emerged from the Ganges along with Indus and Saraswati. Indian culture derives its basics from sacrifice, austerity, knowledge, work, perseverance, yajña and charity, etc. Holy Gaṅgā has been continuously imbibing these elements in culture of India since time immemorial. Since the beginning of the creation, Gaṅgā has been providing the boon of its medicated nectar water to the land of India. Man considers himself blessed and fortunate just by seeing, touching, bathing, drinking and chanting in the water of the Ganges. In Sanskrit literature many poems are composed taking the concern of pollution of the rivers in India out of which the epic "Rakṣata Gangām" is significant and dedicated to the holy river Gangā. This epic was composed by Kamalā Pāṇḍeya and translated into English by Anurādhā Banerje. It consists of 11 cantos. The concern of environmental pollution has been depicted in its 10th canto followed by its prevention in the next canto. Through this epic, the poetess tries to awaken the motherly feelings of the people towards the holy Gangā
Formulation And Evaluation Of Polyherbal Anti-Inflammatory Gel
Inflammation is a very complex process and its pain affects millions of people worldwide. Approximately, 1-2% of the world population is affected by various inflammatory disorders and among them, women are three times more prone to the disease as compared to men. The present study was carried out to formulate and evaluate polyherbal gel formulation containing extracts of Curcuma amada and Nyctanthes arbortristis using carbopol-980 as gelling agents. Total six batches (F1to F6) were prepared and evaluated for physicochemical characteristics such as pH, viscosity, spreadability and drug content which were found within the range. All prepared formulations indicated good physical stability. In-vitro drug diffusion studies of formulations were performed by using Franz diffusion cell which shown percentage of total flavonoid release was 35.84% and percentage of total phenol release was 38.25 % for F5 batch formulation in five hours. The exvivo permeation study was carried out for optimized formulation using goat abdomen skin as barrier and shown percentage flavonoid release of 35.86 % and percentage phenol release of 27.32 % in F5 batch formulation in five hours. The antiinflammatory activity was conducted by using carrageenan induced rat paw edema model. The prepared formulation shown good inhibitory effect. From the results, we concluded that the polyherbal gel formulation of herbal drug Curcuma amada and Nyctanthes arbortristis have been found to be effective for treating inflammation
