Formulation and Evaluation of Econazole loaded Solid Lipid Nanoparticles based Ocular Film for Treatment of Fungal Infection
This study evaluated the viability of using solid lipid nanoparticles for the ocular delivery of Econazole, adopting stearic acid as lipidic material, tween 80 as a stabilizer, and carbopol 934 as a controlled release agent and for increasing the precorneal residence time in the eye. The systems were prepared using two different methods, that is, the ultrasonication method and the microemulsion technique. The results showed that the larger particle size of SLNs was found with the microemulsion technique (309 ± 3.53 nm to 344 ± 3.52) compared to SLN prepared with the ultrasonication method (235 ± 3.53 nm to 289 ± 4.59 nm). All of the formulations had polydispersity index values less than 0.3, and the formulations made using these two procedures had zeta potentials ranging from -23.72 ± 0.64 mV to -29.87 ± 0.59 mV. The drug\u27s crystallinity decreased, as shown by differential scanning calorimetry and powder X-ray diffraction. The SLN formulations made using the ultrasonication method and the in vitro release research both showed sustained release for a maximum of 12 hours. This investigation showed that, without significantly altering the amount of corneal moisture, SLN prepared using the ultrasonication method is more appropriate than that made using the microemulsion approach. The goal of the solid lipid nanoparticle-loaded ocular film of Econazole, an antifungal medication used to treat fungal keratitis, was to improve patient compliance by reducing the need for repeated dosage, lengthening the retention period, and providing sustained release. Using the retarding polymers chitosan, PVA, and ethyl cellulose, the optimal solid dispersion formulation was first created by the solvent evaporation method and then added to films made by the solvent casting method. Plasticizer PEG-400 was utilized. The films were assessed for antimicrobial activity, in-vitro and ex-vivo permeation investigations, thickness, surface pH, drug content, weight uniformity, tensile strength, and in-vitro antifungal research. The films were within an acceptable range and showed good mechanical properties with promising results. In vitro tests using the improved formulation F6 demonstrate more drug release than in vivo experiments. This results from disruption of other tissues and the cornea\u27s variable pore size. The developed formulation proved not to irritate the eyes, according to an ocular irritation test. Therefore, it appears that the ophthalmic film formulation holds promise for the safe and efficient administration of Econazole via the ocular route in the management of fungal keratitis

Impact Of E-Learning On Student Engagement And Performance In Clinical Microbiology: A Comparative Study
It is essential for medical undergraduate students to have Clinical Microbiology as a key building block in their studies. Learning about microbiology and using it in practical ways is often hard for students. This study aims to assess how students use the new e-learning tool and what effect this has on their answers in Clinical Microbiology. The new educational material hosted online contributed useful knowledge to the classroom learning in an undergraduate Fundamentals of Clinical Microbiology course. The 2017/2018 group could use e-learning resources apart from the 2016/2017 students who did not use them. The research assigns two types of scores, multiple-choice (MCQ) and short-notes (SNQ), to students in each group after they use the online resource to complete their work. There were two groups in the module, with students from both parallel levels starting together. Over 200 out of the cohort attending in 2017/2018 interacted with the educational material at 80%+ engagement during that period. On average, students devoted more time looking up pathogen information in the index and examining clinical case studies that covered many important clinical microorganisms. The test scores in MCQ and SNQ showed there was an important statistical difference with the 2017/2018 cohort scoring higher than the 2016/2017 group. Average scores for the 2017/2018 students were 5.57% higher than the MCQ exam (95% CI: 3.92 to 7.24%; P < 0.001) and 2.08% higher than the SNQ exam (95% CI: 0.74 to 3.41%; P = 0.02). Because previous scores were not a big factor, increasing online engagement rate by 1% resulted in an average improvement of 0.05% (between 0.02 and 0.08) on the SNQ exam. According to the research, e-learning improves the chances of students getting better marks in their exams
Between Silence and Madness: Trauma and the Ethics of Representing Genocide in Deogratias
This paper examines Deogratias: A Tale of Rwanda as a critique of genocide narratives, focusing on how Jean-Philippe Stassen uses the graphic novel format to explore the psychological and historical perspectives of trauma. Set against the backdrop of the Rwandan genocide in 1994, the novel defies Western narratives of trauma that usually focus on redemption, closure and healing. Instead, it focuses on the protagonist’s descent into madness due to systematic violence. The novel interrogates the politics behind who is allowed to speak and who is forced into silence. Drawing on the theories of Cathy Caruth, Dominick LaCapra, Primo Levi and Frantz Fanon, this paper challenges the psychological and linguistic frameworks used to understand trauma in post-genocide societies
Development And Characterisation of Morinda Citrafolia Coupled Hydroxyapatite Nano Particle as an Anticariogenic and Remineralising Agent
Aim
This study looked at how morinda citrifolia coupled hydroxyapatite nanoparticle was developed. It also checked its features as an agent to prevent tooth decay.
Materials and Methods
Five grams of M.citrifolia powder was made by grinding the noni fruit and drying it. Five grams of HAP (hydroxyapatite) were prepared using the wet chemical condensation method. This HAP was then finely ground. It was sent for SEM (scanning electron microscopy) and EDS (energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy) to detect HAP nanoparticles and check the elements. After HAP was ready, it was combined with Morinda citrifolia and sent for FTIR (Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy) to find the functional groups. This helped determine the substances present. Finally, S.mutans and LB broth were prepared. They were then sent for PCR analysis and compared with a control group and the HAP+Morinda sample.
Results
FTIR results showed a strong bond between Morinda citrifolia and hydroxyapatite nanoparticles. EDX results provided their chemical makeup. SEM results showed their clear physical features. Real-time PCR analysis showed a decrease in the nucleic acid expression of Lactobacillus and S.mutans samples after treatment with the Morinda citrifolia-coupled hydroxyapatite nanoparticles.
Conclusion
This study shows a good bond between Morinda citrifolia and hydroxyapatite nanoparticles, seen with FTIR and EDX analyses. SEM results show their clear shape and size. Real-time PCR analysis shows a clear drop in the nucleic acid expression of Lactobacillus and S. mutans after treatment. This suggests they can kill germs. The Morinda citrifolia-coupled hydroxyapatite nanoparticles look promising for use in dentistry and medicine. More study is needed to understand how they work and if they can be used in clinics
Barriers Beyond Bandwidth: Self-Esteem, Confidence and Digital Access Among Rural Women and Third-Gender Individuals in India
As India accelerates its transition into a digital economy, significant populations remain psychologically and structurally excluded from the digital revolution. This study investigates the intersection of digital exclusion and psychosocial wellbeing, particularly self-esteem and confidence among socially and economically marginalized women and third-gender individuals in rural Maharashtra. Using a mixed-method approach, data were collected from 24 respondents (19 women and 5 third-gender individuals) across six regions of the state. Quantitative data included 12 demographic and digital access variables, while qualitative data were generated through 28 semi-structured interview questions spanning seven thematic domains: social identity, digital access, digital skills, outcomes, empowerment, cultural norms, and civic exclusion. Findings suggest that digital exclusion is not solely a result of infrastructural inadequacies, but is deeply embedded in local caste-gender hierarchies, economic marginalization, and psycho-emotional barriers such as fear, ridicule, and low digital self-efficacy. Quantitative analysis revealed that respondents with no or limited digital literacy reported lower confidence and minimal participation in digital governance services. Thematic analysis highlighted patterns of internalized digital inferiority, learned helplessness, and gendered gatekeeping in device use and decision-making. Importantly, third-gender respondents experienced an intensified form of digital exclusion shaped by both stigma and invisibility, often resulting in isolation and disconnection from vital online platforms for education, welfare, and expression. The study draws on psychological frameworks such as stereotype threat, digital self-efficacy, and learned helplessness, and sociological theories of digital capital and structural exclusion to interpret the findings. This paper argues for a multidimensional understanding of digital inequality that centers on both technological infrastructure and psychological access. The findings have significant implications for digital inclusion policies, especially those aiming to empower marginalized identities in rural India
Reimagining Higher Education: Integrating Music Into Multidisciplinary Curricula for Holistic Development
This study explores the integration of music into multidisciplinary curricula in higher education and its potential impact on students\u27 cognitive, emotional, and social development. Using qualitative research methods, including semi-structured interviews and focus group discussions with faculty, students, and educational policymakers, the study investigates how music can enhance creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration across various academic disciplines. The findings highlight the cognitive benefits of music, such as improved memory, attention, and problem-solving skills, along with significant emotional and social benefits, including enhanced empathy, emotional regulation, and interpersonal communication. Despite these positive outcomes, the study also identifies significant institutional barriers, such as lack of resources, faculty training, and resistance to curriculum changes. The research concludes with recommendations for higher education institutions, including curriculum redesign, faculty professional development, increased resources, and policy reforms to effectively integrate music into educational programs, fostering holistic student development.

Administrative Reforms and Personnel Management in India: A Critical Appraisal
Administrative reforms and personnel management form the backbone of effective governance and public service delivery in India. Since independence, the Indian administrative system has undergone a series of structural, procedural, and behavioural transformations intended to enhance efficiency, responsiveness, and accountability. The complex legacy of colonial bureaucracy, combined with the imperatives of democratic governance and socio-economic development, necessitated continuous reform in the administrative apparatus. This paper critically examines the trajectory of administrative reforms and personnel management in India from independence to the contemporary era, analysing major initiatives such as the recommendations of the Administrative Reforms Commissions (ARC), the evolution of personnel systems, and the shift towards performance-oriented governance. It evaluates how reforms have addressed challenges of red tape, corruption, politicisation, and capacity deficits. The study adopts a qualitative and descriptive approach based on secondary data, government reports, and academic research. It concludes that although significant progress has been achieved through decentralisation, digitalisation, and capacity building, the goals of administrative efficiency and public accountability remain partially realised. The paper argues that administrative reform in India must increasingly focus on ethical leadership, citizen-centric service delivery, and continuous professional development to meet the aspirations of a 21st-century governance framework.
