Adolescents\u27 awareness of self, which is reflected in their belief in self-identity, is an important part of overcoming aggressiveness behavior. Low adolescent self-identity results in vulnerability to deviant behavior, one of which is aggressiveness. The research aims to (1) describe the self-identity of adolescents, (2) produce a group guidance e-book utilizing webtoon comics using a CBT approach that is valid, practical and effective for improving self-identity in relation to reducing adolescent aggressiveness. The research used a development research method following the ADDIE model development procedure. The research trial subjects consisted of 3 experts to test the feasibility of the e-book display, 3 experts to test the feasibility of the e-book material and 4 school counselors to test the usability of the e-book. The data were analyzed using descriptive analysis and non-parametric statistics. The results showed that (1) students\u27 self-identity was in the low category,(2) Group guidance e-books utilizing webtoon comics using a cognitive behavior therapy approach in improving self-identity towards reducing adolescent aggressiveness are considered feasible in content and very feasible in appearance, the level of use of e-books in the very good category and the level of effectiveness of e-books has increased before and after being given

Minding Modern Mining: An Analysis of the Energy-Intensiveness of Proof-of-Work Consensus Mechanism and its Violation Against the Right to a Balanced & Healthful Ecology

In the recent Chainalysis Global Crypto Adoption Index 2022, the Philippines ranked second as the leading adopter of cryptocurrency worldwide. The emergence and development of cryptocurrency in the Philippines have resulted in an increase in cryptocurrency mining. This mining process validates crypto transactions through a blockchain by employing a Proof-of-Work consensus mechanism. This mechanism requires significant computational power and energy consumption to solve mathematical algorithms or complex puzzles, generating coins with specific values that can be exchanged for legal tender. Consequently, the coal-based Proof-of-Work consensus mechanism leads to the burning of more fossil fuels to generate electricity, thereby increasing atmospheric greenhouse emissions and exacerbating the current climate crisis.   Considering a number of studies and statistics on the impact of energy-intensiveness of Proof-of-Work Consensus Mechanism in 2018 to 2020 akin to climate change, therefore a sense of urgency then to conduct this study. This paper aims to (1) to prove that the Proof-of-Work consensus mechanism, in relation to cryptocurrency mining, is energy-intensive and contributes to the worsening climate and human rights crisis; and (2) to show that the process of Proof-of Work consensus mechanism and its impacts on ecology violates the right to a balanced and healthful ecology under the 1987 Constitution, alongside international environmental commitments, principles, and legal frameworks.   A method triangulation was used in this study, viz, case study, content analysis and comparative approach. To prove the insufficiency of current laws and policies, the gathered information and materials were analyzed to bridge the literature gap by examining provisions governing environmental laws, constitutional law, human rights law, and technology. The findings then indicate that: (1) among all the consensus mechanisms, Proof-of-Work is the most energy-intensive; the process itself and its impact violate the right to a balanced and healthy ecology under the 1987 Constitution; and (2) there are insufficient frameworks in the Philippines addressing the ecological impacts of the Proof-of-Work consensus mechanism. Therefore, legislative measures are recommended to shift to a proof-of-stake consensus mechanism, a greener and more energy-efficient method for cryptocurrency mining

With the gap in educational materials in social media for parrots, Examining the Market Potential of Avian Aerial Displays on Facebook and YouTube is A Capstone Research Study offering educational and information resources about tamed birds on Facebook and YouTube. The project consists of brand guidelines for the construction of publication materials including vlogs and videos intended for the platforms, as Facebook and YouTube can be utilized for more engagement with effective branding. Five (5) bird owners with prominent notability in the online bird owner’s community were interviewed regarding their background, experience, and the use of social media in the subject of bird-care. The concluded results served as the basis for the construction of the brand concept, guidelines, and the publication materials for the project. The capstone project applies the five (5) Ps of communication; plan, produce, publish, promote, and practice which includes the use of different marketing strategies such as communication strategies, design strategies, and media platforms. This study serves as a potential avenue for future inquiries about tamed birds, branding guidelines, and business-related ventures

    No full text
In the 20 years since the first set of emojis was released, it has become increasingly popular to use them in text-based online communication to express emotions. In this study, a mixed design approach was employed, utilizing both a corpus-based tool and a questionnaire. Over a period of approximately 4 months, undergraduates at a Chinese college were observed to explore how the five functions emerged from the collected data, based on Jakobson’s Model. This paper analyzes the six linguistic functions of emojis, namely emotive, conative, phatic, poetic, referential, and metalingual. The questionnaire reveals differences in emoji usage between male and female students. The researcher suggests that further studies should be conducted to investigate other influential aspects of emoji usage

Introduction: The syndrome of early ventricular repolarization (CPR) is an electrocardiographic phenomenon characterized by the presence of ST segment elevation (J point, notch or connection wave on the descending part of the R wave, sometimes resembling the r’ wave), the rotation of the electrical axis of the heart counterclockwise along the longitudinal axis. The result of a number of studies has shown the prognostic value of CPR in patients with acute myocardial infarction (MI). Patel R. and co-authors, analyzing the ECG in patients with a history of MI and with an implanted cardioverter-defibrillator, found that CPR in this group is associated with the development of life-threatening rhythm disturbances regardless of the left ventricular ejection fraction. Objectives: Objective: to study the frequency of early ventricular repolarization syndrome in patients diagnosed with myocraditis. Methods: The 1st study group included 63 patients diagnosed with myocarditis, the 2nd study group included 108 patients undergoing medical examination in polyclinics who underwent ECG diagnostics. Results: In group 1, CPR was detected in 14.28% of the examined (9 patients) (average age 45.8±9.5 years, 37 men, 26 women), in group 2, CPR was registered in 10.1% of patients (11 patients) (average age 42.7±6.2 years).. Statistical analysis revealed no difference between the incidence of CPR in patients with myocarditis and polyclinic patients (p>0.05). Conclusions: In patients with myocarditis, CPR was more common in standard leads in the form of a notch

Research design was Ex- post facto. Both qualitative and quantitative data was collected.12 Head- teachers, 93 class room teachers and 108 pupils with hearing impairment were selected using saturated sampling technique, being a sample size of 213 respondents. Questionnaire and interview schedule were data collection instruments.Quantitative and qualitative data were analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics and as emerging themes respectively. The study established a significant relationship between challenges faced using KSL during learning and teaching in special needs education at p=0.03<0.05, therefore, it was concluded that challenges faced by learners with HIand teachers in using KSL significantly influences academic performance. The results are important as they indicate hindrances to effective use of KSL as a medium of instruction in schools

So far, there is  no preceding  attention has given to Noam Chomsky\u27s interviews, moreover, there has been no  former works seek detecting the phenomena that may result because of  breaking Grice\u27s  maxims. As such  , this study tries to investigate the phenomena that result because of Noam Chomsky\u27s choice not to follow the cooperative principle. For the sake of  accomplishing this aim, the researcher elects the modal from: Schiffrin(1997) approaches to discourse analysis ,Grice\u27s modal (1975) of cooperative principle and non-observance strategies, Ju Noh’s (2000) model of  metarepresentational use of language, Yule’s (1996) classification of types of presupposition , Salager-Meyer (1995) taxonomy of hedging, and Alexandra (2004)  system of information sources and evidentiality, Searle classification of speech act
