    No full text
Introduction: Empowering women involves fostering the growth of their self-esteem, their capacity to make independent choices, and their ability to influence social change for themselves and others. Empowering women means offering them more autonomy and sovereignty over their lives (Nayak & Mahanta, 2015; Sharma, 2020). Enhancing women\u27s status in politics, society, business, and health is intrinsically crucial. Moreover, it is essential to accomplishing equitable development (Priyadharshini et al., 2016). In India, the issue of women\u27s empowerment is highly divisive. Nearly half of the population of the World is female, yet India has an uneven gender distribution, meaning there are comparatively fewer women than men (Rani, 2020). Nearly 67.7% of Indians are women and children, according to the 2011 census (Census, 2011). The necessity of women\u27s empowerment is a widely recognized issue in a variety of economic sectors. Without the socioeconomic advancement of women, an economy is unable to endure for an extended period. According to several studies, women\u27s financial security and the health and nutrition of their offspring are related (Grown et al., 2005). It is possible to enhance the general health and well-being of women by giving them access to vital health services including family planning, maternity care, and screenings for conditions like cervical cancer. In addition, educating women about their reproductive rights and health can assist them in making informed decisions regarding their bodies and obtaining the necessary care (Mitroi et al., 2016). At the end of the day, spending money on women\u27s health supports not just the individuals but also their families, communities, and society itself. Research Methodology Research Design: A quantitative research approach with a descriptive research design was adopted in the study to quantify the impact of various variables affecting beneficiary satisfaction. Research Settings: The study was conducted in Haryana, the six selected districts are Rohtak (226), Palwal (150), Karnal (138), Rewari (69), Ambala (61), and Panchkula (45). The reason for selecting this setting was that out of these six districts, Rohtak, Palwal, and Karnal have the highest Maternal Mortality rate (MMR) and rest three Rewari, Ambala, and Panchkula have the lowest MMR in Haryana as per 2018-20 data released by Registrar General of India. Research Method and Tools: The study used a structured questionnaire consisting of nineteen questions, focusing on eight dimensions: awareness and knowledge, financial security, decision-making power, social mobility, empowerment, local support systems and perceptions, implementation challenges, and access to healthcare. The questionnaire was pilot-tested to ensure clarity and relevance. The data analysis was done using descriptive study, reliability analysis, and multiple regression to better understand eight selected aspects of beneficiary satisfaction with PMMVY. Population: The target population of the study was the women of the age group (19-42 years) residing in six districts of Haryana. The study was conducted for the period October 2022 to March 2023, especially after PMMVY 2.0. Sample and sampling technique: The sample consisted of 300 women selected by using the Purposive sampling technique. The method ensures that the sample enhances the relevance and reliability of findings based on the study objective. Conclusion The analysis reveals that the satisfaction of the beneficiaries is significantly influenced by factors such as the level of awareness and knowledge, financial security, decision-making power, social mobility, empowerment, local support systems and perceptions, implementation challenges, and access to healthcar

    No full text
Due to lack of knowledge, educational access and technology, disabled children were initially treated as unwanted and segregated from other children. In recent times there has been a shift to make education possible for everyone under the same roof. Teaching and learning has become personalized where content, pace and strategies are being taken into cognizance according to the unique capabilities of a student. This study aimed to assess the attitude of teacher in making inclusive education a success. In this study descriptive method of research was used and 100 teachers were selected by random sampling technique from different Govt. middle schools in district Pulwama. Semi structured interview schedule was employed to collect the data. After analysing the data in qualitative way it was found that teachers were of the opinion that all learners regardless of their disabilities should be in regular classrooms and they showed more favourable attitude towards children with mild disabilities. It has also been seen that collaboration between the mainstream and the special education teachers is important in making inclusive education successful. The majority of the respondents agreed that special students need extra care and help in the classroom and that these students were seen as having more disciplinary problems when compared to the regular student. In general, teachers were found to hold positive attitudes toward inclusion. Originality/value: The study emphasizes on the awareness about disability and the steps taken towards an equal position of students with disabilities in the schools in particular and people with disabilities in the society in general. The findings from this research may help the stake holders and policy makers to boost the teaching and learning environment in the schools that offer inclusive education. Changes at policy level and support facilities for special needs students as an open concern are needed to achieve this equalization

In order to treat glaucoma, the in-situ gel of the chitosan nanoparticles loaded with Carteolol was developed for this investigation. By using the ionotropic gelation approach, Carteolol-loaded chitosan nanoparticles (Carteolol-CHNPs) were created. They were then further improved using the 3-factor and 3-level Box–Behnken design. Three factors were chosen as independent variables: chitosan (A), sodium tripolyphosphate (B), and stirring speed (C). They were shown to have an impact on loading capacity (LC as Y3), entrapment efficiency (EE as Y2), and particle size (PS as Y1). Gel containing nanoparticles was assessed for rheological, gelation time, gelling temperature, and transcorneal permeability. Furthermore, transcorneal permeation drug release investigations and intraocular pressure (IOP) for improved gel were carried out in vitro. Using a rabbit model, the biocompatibility of formulations was examined. Optimized Carteolol-chitosan nanoparticles are incorporated into a thermosensitive in-situ gel matrix to enhance precorneal residence time without irritating the eyes and to facilitate the sustained release of Carteolol through the cornea for efficient glaucoma treatment

    No full text
A member of the Moraceae family is the mulberry, or Morus Alba L.  Numerous secondary metabolites have been discovered from Morus Alba Linn, including triterpenoids, flavonol glycosides, anthocyanins, and steroids. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the extract of Morus Alba L. in mice model for potential anti-diabetic effects and preliminary phytochemical screening. Although there is growing evidence regarding the mulberry branch\u27s (MB) ability to prevent diabetes, the main active ingredient in this action is yet unknown. The streptozotocin-induced diabetic ICR mouse was given oral MB ethanol (EtOH) extracts [0.5 or 1 g/ kg body weight (BW)] once a day for 22 days. This drastically decreased the diabetic control mouse\u27s plasma glucose level and fasting blood levels in a dose-dependent manner. Oxyresveratrol [ORT, 0.6 g/kg BW], a primary constituent of MB EtOH extracts, was administered to diabetic ICR mice, which also markedly lowered their fasting plasma glucose level. Moreover, ORT raised the transcription of the hepatic glucose transporter 2 and the amount of glycogen. There was no difference in intestinal disaccharidase activity or plasma insulin levels between the diabetes control and ORT groups. This implies that ORT decreased plasma glucose by promoting the liver\u27s absorption of glucose and storage of glycogen. MB EtOH extracts and ORT may be useful as complementary treatments for the treatment of diabetes. &nbsp

    No full text
Generic medicines play a crucial role in expanding healthcare access by offering affordable alternatives to brand-name drugs. This paper explores the pros and cons of generic medicines, focusing on their economic benefits, regulatory challenges, and the impact on public health. Central to this investigation is the Janaushadhi initiative in India, which aims to enhance affordability and accessibility through a network of government-owned pharmacies. By examining the success and challenges of Janaushadhi, this paper assesses its effectiveness in improving healthcare outcomes and public trust in generic medicines.  Generic drugs, as defined by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), are pharmaceutically equivalent to brand-name drugs in dosage form, safety, strength, route of administration, quality, performance, and intended use, yet are typically priced significantly lower, enhancing affordability for patients and healthcare systems. This paper examines the regulatory and scientific framework of generics, focusing on bioavailability, bioequivalence studies, and dissolution testing. Bioavailability, critical for drug absorption and efficacy, is assessed through rigorous bioequivalence studies, ensuring therapeutic equivalence with branded drugs. The Drug Price Competition and Patent Term Restoration Act of 1984 (HatchWaxman Act) has streamlined generic drug approvals based on these studies, fostering competition and lowering drug costs. Dissolution testing, adhering to US Pharmacopeia standards, validates the quality and performance of generic solid oral dosage forms. Additionally, the paper discusses the impact of initiatives like the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP) in India, emphasizing its role in providing affordable generics and reducing healthcare disparities under strengthened regulatory oversight
