Cancer is a major public health problem in most developed countries, and is one of the leading causes of death around the world. The traditional approaches to treat cancer such as surgery, hormone therapy, radiotherapy and chemotherapy methods can cause adverse side effects. With this context, in the current we aimed to evaluate anticarcinogenic activities of endangered plant species of western ghats in cytotoxicity studies for MCF-7 cell line by MTT assay method. Results depicted that extracts of all the four endangered plant species viz. Curcuma zedoaria, Syzygium travancorium, Plectranthus vettiveroides, and Utleria salcifolia have showed increased inhibition activity with increased concentration of the extracts. The leaf extract U. salcifolia and P. vettiveroides exhibited IC50 value of 34.24 µg/ml and 199 µg/ml respectively. While, stem extracts of C. zedoaria and S. travancorium exhibited IC50 value of 289 µg/ml and 73 µg/ml respectively. In conclusion, stem extract of U. salicifolia exhibited low IC50 value, and therefore it showed highly efficient cytotoxic effect than other tested endangered plant species of western ghats viz. C. zedoaria, S. travancorium, and P. vettiveroides. Hence, stem extract of U. salicifolia could be considered for the development of natural anticarcinogenic drugs

    No full text
Indeed, as the environment with less number of niches and dramatic geographical changes, the lunar surface is in a way an material that has been morphed by billions of years of astronomical activities. This paper therefore aims at giving a comprehensive comparative analysis of the identified associated minerals in the impact crater and the non-crater region of the moon in the hope of unraveling the processes that define morphology of surface morphology. Moon surface is comparatively rugged having distinguishable difference in large areas of low planes known as maria and elevated grounds highlands and thus making inquiries into impacts of meteor concerning distribution of minerals relatively simpler on this natural experiment. Expanding from details collected from the most popular lunar impact formations, namely Mare Orientale, Tycho as well as Copernicus, this paper seeks to describe and account for some of the structural and geological characteristics that go hand in hand with impacts of various sizes. These rays when combined with other geographical features such as rilles, domes, and swirls on the surface of the moon will give an estimate of its geologic past. Furthermore, it is more focused on factors of nature that controls the array and generation of lunar regolith as well as the impacts of meteoroid on the face of moon . Again, to understand the mechanical properties and mineralogical composition of regolith samples collected from different lunar sites, information about the geological history of moon is established

    No full text
Autism also called as autism spectrum disorder (ASD), is a complex developmental disorder that affects children in behaviour, interaction, communication and  learning. These children also have problems in social interactions. They remain isolated and absorbed in their world. Most of them are indulged in repetitive behaviour which leads to poor attention and poor concentration and thereby preventing them to learn social skills, even day to day activities.  Autism appears before the age 3 and persists throughout a person’s life. It is called as a spectrum disorder, as because it produces different set of symptoms in different ways and in varying degrees. ASD usually produces a group of symptoms which represent the involvement of various areas of life such as communication, learning, understanding and behaviour.  Current treatment method includes therapies, supplements and symptomatic medications. There is no therapeutic mode available to reverse the children from autism label. Holistic approach is necessary to bring back the harmony in autism children. &nbsp

Self-Efficacy and its Role in Coping with Stress: A Review of Recent Literature

    Get PDF
Self-efficacy is the belief in one\u27s capacity to achieve desired outcomes, significantly influencing stress perception and coping strategies. This review explores the relationship between self-efficacy and stress management, synthesizing findings from studies conducted between 2014 and 2024. Stress, a pervasive global health concern, negatively impacts psychological and physiological well-being, contributing to mental health issues and chronic diseases. High self-efficacy individuals tend to perceive stressors as challenges rather than threats, enabling adaptive coping mechanisms such as emotional regulation, problem-solving, and resilience. The review highlights the effectiveness of interventions like cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness-based techniques, and emerging digital tools in enhancing self-efficacy and stress management outcomes. Additionally, it addresses how cultural, gender, and age variations influence self-efficacy and its application in stress coping, with collectivistic cultures favoring group-oriented coping and individualistic cultures emphasizing independence. Interventions tailored to these demographic differences have shown promise in reducing stress across various settings, including academic, workplace, and healthcare contexts. Future research should focus on underrepresented populations, cross-cultural perspectives, and longitudinal designs to establish causality and explore the dynamic interplay between self-efficacy and stress. Integrating self-efficacy into comprehensive stress management frameworks offers a robust approach to mitigating stress and fostering well-being

    Get PDF
Acute pharyngitis, commonly characterized by inflammation of the pharynx, is often caused by viral or bacterial infections. The treatment of acute pharyngitis usually involves symptomatic relief, with the majority of cases being self-limiting. However, the increasing search for alternative therapeutic approaches has led to growing interest in homeopathic medicine. This article explores the role of homeopathy in the treatment of acute pharyngitis, evaluating its potential benefits, scientific basis, and clinical effectiveness. A review of current literature, as well as individual case reports, suggests that homeopathic remedies may offer symptom relief and accelerate recovery in acute pharyngitis cases, particularly in milder forms or as adjunctive therapy. Further research through randomized controlled trials is essential to establish the efficacy of homeopathy in this context

    Get PDF
The continuous increase of bacteria and viruses that are able to withstand antibiotics is a major problem for human health across the world. We must find new ways to treat these infections immediately. There is an urgent need to investigate new chemical scaffolds and hybrid molecules that may provide improved effectiveness, as many widely used antibiotics and antimycobacterial medicines are losing some of their effectiveness. To enhance the therapeutic benefits of many bioactive substances, one potential approach to drug design is to synthesize hybrid molecules that integrate their pharmacophores. Particularly in the fields of antibacterial and antimycobacterial therapies, hybrid chalcone and acetyl pyrazoline derivatives have attracted a lot of interest owing to their varied biological activities. Chalcones are naturally occurring chemicals that belong to the flavonoid family. They have shown a broad range of biological actions, such as antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anticancer, and antimalarial characteristics. They can be easily modified chemically and used to produce new derivatives due to their very adaptable α, β-unsaturated ketone system and simple chemical structure. The capacity of chalcones to bind with DNA of bacteria and fungi, block enzymes, and disrupt microbial cell membranes is the main explanation for their biological activity. Chalcones are thought to be great starting points for novel antimicrobial agents because of their structural flexibility and wide range of activities.(Cheng et al., 2020)Conversely, pyrazolines are heterocyclic molecules with five carbon atoms that have shown strong biological activity, such as antibacterial, antifungal, anticancer, and anti-inflammatory properties. The capacity of pyrazoline derivatives to suppress the development of infectious microbes including mycobacteria, fungus, and bacteria has led to a surge in their popularity. Chalcone scaffolds may have their antibacterial action amplified by adding a pyrazoline component to them. In particular, acetyl pyrazoline derivatives offer promising new avenues for antimicrobial research due to their enhanced effectiveness against a wide range of resistant bacterial strains

The article provides a comparative analysis of pluralistic legal systems worldwide, examines the challenges and opportunities of UCC implementation, and offers recommendations for an inclusive and balanced approach. It concludes that preserving the cultural autonomy of tribal communities while promoting national integration requires nuanced and participatory policymaking, ensuring that India\u27s pluralistic ethos remains intact. &nbsp

Intelligent Financial Governance: The Role of AI and Machine Learning in Enhancing Fiscal Impact Analysis and Budget Forecasting for Government Entities

    Get PDF
Intelligent Financial Governance (IFG) aims at understanding the complex systems underlying accounting, budgeting, and financial data in government entities with the support of computational tools. The goal is to assess how to support decision-makers in managing uncertainties related to financial systems. As financial governance is much a forecast-based question, AI and Machine Learning (ML) technology can be used to build predictive models, which are assessed with respect to different historical and real-time variables. A variety of methodologies are developed and discussed in relation to the reflexive loop needed to appraise the impacts on the insights obtained. Case studies refer to the use of these methodologies in two government entities in Northern Italy, which are commented on to identify implications and potential directions. The essay’s conclusion reflects on the potential role of AI tools in enhancing financial governance in government entities to inform decisions, budget policies, and assessments relating to the complexity of accounting and financial systems. The role of AI is typically not recurring here, either as black-box models or as wide prediction-based systems, which are often difficult to train as there is no universal forecasting pattern in financial systems and variables change at fine timescales
