Antiparkinsonian Activity Of Vitamin D3 And Pregabalin Against Rotenone Induced Parkinsonism In Rat Model

    No full text
Rotenone is a potent specific inhibitor of mitochondrial complex-1 that appears to reproduce the behavioural features of Parkinson\u27s disease in rats. It selectively destroys dopaminergic neurons, causing a deficiency of dopamine in the striatum which leads to impaired motor functions include tremor and muscle rigidity. The purpose of this study was to assess if pregabalin affects Parkinson\u27s disease. Long-term use of neuroleptics in psychotic disorders such as schizophrenia results in extrapyramidal symptoms such as Parkinson\u27s disease and neuropathic pain. The present study deals with the antiparkinson effect of Vitamin D3, Pregabalin on rotenone induced Parkinson disease in wister rats. Neural degeneration was induced in a group (II, III, IV) by Rotenone (2.5mg/kg daily i.p.) for 28 days. Group II: Vitamin D3 (30mg/kg); Group III Pregabalin (30mg/kg); Vitamin D3 (30 mg/kg p.o.) and pregabalin (30 mg/kg p.o.) drug treatment significantly improved these behavioural and biochemical alterations restored mitochondrial enzyme complex activities and attenuated neuroinflammatory markers in rotenone (2.5mg/kg) treated animals as compared to control group. It can be concluded that the Vitamin D3 (30mg/kg) showed highly significant decrease oxidative stress (MDA level)) and significantly increase dopamine level of post-treatment. The pregabalin (30mg/kg) showed significant increase locomotor activity and Rota rod test

The Pain and The Panacea: Reading ‘The Wasteland’ In The Light Of श्रीमद् भगवद्गीता

One of the yardsticks to estimate the worth of a work is its timelessness or relevance to the present. Many works in the field of all literatures- in English, Sanskrit, Gujarati or Hindi, have become milestones and benchmarking because of their quality to please and teach everybody, everywhere and every time- the quality of being sublime. T.S.Eliot’s ‘The Waste Land’, published in 1922 and regarded as a highly condensed epic of the Modern age, is also one such sublime work which has left a perennial effect in the field of literature and has carved a unique niche in its own aesthetic way. The poem is symbolic of a proverb ‘every cloud has a silver line’. The poem talks about the chaos of the then Modern English society. In it, we can see that materialism pervades throughout the poem and as a natural corollary of it, April, the month of Spring and rejuvenation, is referred to as the cruellest month.1 The poem poses many serious issues which are of significant human concerns. Very finely the inclination of the modern Wastelanders towards inaction is indicated by the beginning line. From the very outset, Eliot talks about the degenerated psychology of the modern man in which he constantly avoids any action which, according to The Bhagawad Gita, is not possible. As Lord Krishna says, it is impossible for any human being to remain actionless; for inaction is also a kind of action or Karma. In the third chapter of The Bhagawad Gita, entitled ‘Karmayoga’, in the fifth shloka, Lord Krishna says

Examining Genetic Diversity in Spinach (Spinacia oleracea L.) through the Analysis of Select Morphological Traits.

    No full text
Spinach, a leafy green vegetable cherished for its nutritional and medicinal benefits, is globally cultivated. This study assessed the genetic diversity of fifty-one Spinacia oleracea L. germplasms from diverse regions in Bangladesh, utilizing both qualitative and quantitative traits. Variation was observed across all traits, except for Inflorescence color and seed type. Leaf shapes included elliptic, broad elliptic, ovate, and broad ovate, with elliptic being predominant. Maximum variation was noted in edible leaf weight per plant, followed by petiole length and the number of lateral branches. Specific germplasms exhibited longer and broader leaves, with RC-139 having the highest number of lateral branches. Bolting time, with NQ-68 requiring the most days, proved to be a crucial trait for spinach. The dendrogram grouped thirty-six germplasms into Cluster I, while Cluster IV contained a solitary germplasm. Cluster II showed the highest mean values for leaf length, leaf width, and edible leaf weight per plant. Principal Component Analysis revealed that leaf length, leaf width, and petiole length were pivotal contributors to germplasm diversity. Selecting for leaf traits and bolting time, germplasms TRMR-136, TRMR-144, R-342, RNF-26, NQ-68, and RC-139 are recommended for future breeding programs based on their distinctive characteristics

    No full text
In industry 4.0, the concept of stainable development has emerged as a critical endeavour for maintaining the ecological balance and survival of living beings. Lack of Ecological sustainability emphases the importance of maintaining a delicate balance between human activities and the natural world. Ecosystems undergo changes over time due to natural disturbances or human activities. Understanding the interplay between technological advancements and urbanization is crucial for addressing carbon footprints and identifying these impacts is vital for implementing sustainable practices and mitigating further damage to ecological balance. The emission of greenhouse gases produced by digital technology platforms and resources are known as digital carbon footprint. This study explores the principles, challenges and advancements in green cybersecurity also known as sustainable or eco-friendly computing. The research paper aims to delve into the role of IT security in ecological sustainability, exploring its significance, challenges and potential solutions in ensuring  the  preservation  of  ecosystems  and  biodiversity.  This  open  source  intelligence (OSINT) study will reveal how vulnerabilities in the IT infrastructure of Indian Financial Sector causes penetration which includes various kinds of malware attacks and increases carbon foot printing. It also divulges how a strongly protected IT infrastructure will precisely search for and promote the innovations that are possible by smart green technologies to avoid carbon emission

Navigating Legal Recourse For The Survivors Of Marital Rape In India: Exploring Remedies In The Absence Of Criminalization

    No full text
Marital rape, denoting non-consensual sexual intercourse within the confines of a marital relationship, persists as a critical issue in India, primarily attributed to deeply ingrained patriarchal norms and societal attitudes that uphold male dominance and control within the institution of marriage, often marginalizing a wife\u27s consent as irrelevant or implicit. The absence of criminalization exacerbates challenges for survivors seeking legal remedies. Although India lacks specific legislation addressing marital rape, survivors can, to a limited extent, seek relief under certain provisions within various statutes. While these legal avenues may not offer comprehensive justice for victims of marital rape, they do provide a semblance of redress and support. This analysis delves into the prevailing legal framework, encompassing relevant laws, statutes, and judicial precedents, to explore available options for redress and justice within the context of marital rape in India

Anemia is a condition where red blood cell (RBC) count and haemoglobin (HBG) concentration are lower than the reference range, which results as a decrease in the oxygen-carrying capacity, Following a compromise the physiological needs. Along with the Decrease HBG concentration and haematocrit (HCT) RBC count, mean corpuscular volume (MCV), reticulocyte count, examination of blood film, and HBG electrophoresis are significant parameters for the diagnosis of anemia. India is a common hub for megaloblastic anemia with prevalence range of 2-40%. Nutritional deficiency of either cobalamin (vitamin B12) or folate (vitamin B9) are commonest causes of Megaloblastic anemia. This is case control analytical study carried out on 50 diagnosed Psychotic Patient as per the International Classification of diseases, Tenth revision (ICD-10). The study was conducted in Psychiatry department of Mahatma Gandhi Medical College & Hospital, Jaipur. Fifty age and sex matched healthy individuals constituted the control group. Our study found low levels of vitamin B12 and hemoglobin in psychotic patients. which might contribute to the psychosis symptom
