    Hypnosis in Islamic Perspective (An Analysis of Bin Baz\u27s Fatwa)

    In the last decade, a hypnosis approach for various purposes in the life of society is already commonly used. There are some people who use it in the scope of the families such as hypnobirthing, hypnoparenting, etc, and the other one uses it in the field of education such as hypnolearning, hypnoteaching, etc. However, when reviewing the fatwa of Bin Baz, one of the great Islamic Scholars from saudi Arabia there is a prohibition on the use of hypnosis. The main aim of this study is to analyze the contents of Bin Baz’s fatwa relation to the practice of hypnosis in the field of education. The research method that the author use is the study of literature with an analytical approach of documents that is descriptive qualitative. Data is collected through observation and documentation, then analysis for the content. While the thinking framework, which is used, are deductive, inductive, and comparative methods. The main conclusion from the results of this study that the Bin Baz’s fatwa about hypnosis is weak or less because it has fewer arguments can be accounted for. There are a few things that have ambiguous meanings; especially the word hypnosis itself is being converted into "magnetic sleep." Through a study based on the latest science, expected quality of human resources especially in the field of education may continue to increase, as well as should be able to answer the problems of society

    The paper aims to describe the implementation of Islamic education in Madrasah Tsawaniyah (MTs PAKIS) located on the edge of the forest of Mount Slamet village of Gunung Lurah Cilongok Banyumas Subdistrict. MTs PAKIS is a private MTs established by volunteers who care about the high number of primary and secondary drop outs of children from the edge of the forest. Poverty, low awareness of education, limited access to transportation and infrastructure make it possible for rural residents not to receive inherited educational services from generation to generation. MTs PAKIS is expected to be one of the alternatives to provide Islamic education-based secondary education services that can make school-aged children and forest-edge communities better educated and improve their quality of life. In order for the education process is not uprooted from the roots of the community, MTs PAKIS held gricultural-based learning process and forestry or agrofrestry

    Therapeutic Aspects in Shalawatan Tradition (An Ethnographic Study on Shalawatan Communities in Banyumas)

    This study aims to reveal and identify therapeutic aspects in the tradition of shalawatan in Banyumas area. With ethnographic approach, this study describe the various aspects of therapeutic in the tradition of shalawatan. It can consider the elements that exist in the shalawatan, namely the shalawat reading or dzikir, the relationship between the leader (habib) and its members, the atmosphere of relations among its members, and the speech content (taushiyah) of habib or kiyai. The substance that be presented is the psychological implications caused by individual rituals and experiences in performing solawatan tradition. The therapeutic aspect is essentially part of this study. There are many therapeutic aspects of shalawatan tradition that have been revealed in this research, namely auto-suggestion, togetherness, psycho-spiritual and group therapy. The next study can find other ones, for example the aspect of musical of shalawatan that sharpens the sense or the religious emotions of the doers, so as not to dry in practice religious teachings. In addition there is also a scientific aspect that is contained in the moment of giving tausiyah (mau’idzah hasanah) by habib and kiyai  in a shalawatan forum, which helps the jama’ah  to develop positive thoughts in life.     The communities of Islamic boarding schools as institutions that are born from the basis and doctrine of Islam are meticulously and courageously successful in dialectics with the facts of life. In the colonial era, the communities of Islamic boarding schools did not only fight because of the reasons which the colonialism exploited and treated the people in a non-human way, but also more than the religious doctrine was the most basic foundation so that resistance occurred continuously. The communities of Islamic boarding school is also able to provide a theological solution to critical issues related to the basic foundation of nation and state, such as the basic state debate in the Jakarta charter, and the single principle of Pancasila. As the result, the communities of Islamic boarding schools have made a final decision known the Unitary State of the Republic of  Indonesia (NKRI), Bhinneka Tunggal Eka (unity in diversity), Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution is the final and complete for Indonesian nation

    Study on Social Cohesion of The Salafi Group in Banyumas District

    The title of this article: "Study on Social Cohesion of the Salafi group in Banyumas". The purpose of this study was to determine and find out on social cohesion in the group of Salafi.The methods of this research was used by qualitative approach and its analysis of data using interactive methods. Results from this study: 1) That the Salafist Group came in Banyumas region   approximately the 1980s. Formally, this group has no organization, so they do not have a leader, despite having members of the congregation. If a person be a leader, then the informal nature, and designated are their teachers. 2) Salafi groups are hard to get back to the Qur\u27an and Sunnah and follow what is done by the as-Salaf as-á¹¢Äliḥ (السل٠الصالح ) as generation of Companions, Tabi\u27in and Tabi\u27it Tabi\u27in in conducting all activities of life; 3) The social cohesion within the Salafi group is so strong. It is caused by the similarity in following the teachings of which are known to them, recognition of the truths taught by their teachers, and intellectual relationship (study) conducted with its members continuously and do not want to learn except to their teachers

Naturally culture is very hard to understand ,invisible, implicitly, and usually to be considered as a usual thing. But all of the organizations develope a set of understanding and an implicited order that regulates the everydays atitude in the work’s place. Organization culture is a part of the existing culture. This culture is very important for the development of an organization both in the state  and private fields as well.     Since firstly transmitted in Java and became a major religion, about 700 years agoor even more, Islam has met with many older cultures and traditions that had been existed hundreds of years before, and grew so far with numerous model of synthesises. Universal values of Islam met with local genius. The universal messages of Islam, interacting with diverse etnicity and particularvalue, had created some new sytheses. The universal value did not pass away. Vice versa, it constantly adhereable and penetrated into the traditional way of life. Indeed, Islam manifested and transformed to be a new colour one: being localized in a new society. The new entity, on eventually, addopted by their socialite in particular, and their member of community in general. This is the fact that we can say to the javanesemoslem community, and will be discussed in the article. It is islamic virtues in the new tradition.     Islam in Indonesia is culturally very different from that in the Middle East, particularly related to a tradition of greater freedom for women in public places. In Indonesia, there are many women entering public and political arena and even women are seeking and achieving unprecedented power and influence in public life. However, there are some barriers from religion and culture that give burdens to women to express their political views and to involve in public life. Very often women who want to enter politics find that the political and public environment is not conducive to their participation. This paper discusses cultural, religious, and political factors of the difficulties faced by Indonesian Muslim women to participate freely in public and political lives. This paper looks at how women’s status in cultural and social structure influences the involvement of women in political activities. This study is a philosophical investigation of the value of culture, religion, and politics to Indonesian women in democratic practices. With the use of intensive reading of books and other information sources, together with policy document analysis, the study aims to explore the problems and possibilities of putting the visions of democracy into practice in contemporary Indonesian women, to explore the nature of culture, religion, and politics in Indonesia in influencing women’s political activism, and to understand both the status of Muslim women and the dynamics of Muslim societies in Indonesia. This paper concludes that women are still under-represented in public and political institutions in Indonesia. The long struggle of women’s movement for equal rights has not been easy due to the cultural and religious reasons

    Background of this research is the traditional market alienation due to unbalance compete with modern market on the retail market in Indonesia. Limited capital, business management simple and limited networks make traditional markets are not able to compete with the modern market. This research use qualitative methods and use a case-based approach (statute approach) the Commission’s decision number 09/KPPU-L/2005 and the Commission’s Decision No. 03/ KPPU-LI /2000 and history approach, the history of the market Prophet Muhammad’s time and during the time of the Islamic empire. In addition, this study also helped to pull through direct surveys in several markets in Jakarta and Medan. The result of this research is models of the pressing role state (sadd) by prohibition of monopolistic practices, intervention of price and the location, state role with a capital acces (fath) by empowering, providing capital assistance, as well as collaboration (jam’u) to encourage cooperation between traditional and modern market

    The Pattern of School Da\u27wa Movement: Restraining Radicalization Among Adolescent

    Previous researchers show that school is the most vulnerable institution induced by radical religious ideology. There are many factors that cause this, namely: the absence of strictly of religious regulation in school, psychological conditions of adolescent, the lack of religious comprehension, and uncontrolled religious organizations with various ideology in school. These conditions are required the pattern of the school da’wa movement that can be accepted by all adolescent. This research focused on constructing the pattern of da’wa movement which can be an alternative pattern of da’wa developed in schools.To get the data, this research conducted a qualitative research with phenomenological approach taking Purwokerto as the setting area. It applies observation as well as interview and focus group discussion with school leaders, teachers, students, activists of religious organizations, and religious leaders who understand the problems in this study. The main of data analysis is processed by qualitative research.To produce the patterns of school da’wa movement that can be accepted by all the communities, the school needs the pattern of integrative school da’wa movement within intra-curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. In practicing this da’wa movement pattern, the school should pay attention to the characteristics of the school, students\u27 backgrounds, as well as involved stakeholders and the da’wa organizations
