    This study is research and development. It is based on the analysis of necessity in media of teaching for WADAH (Colours, Shapes, Numbers, Alphabets and Arabic). Moreover, the study is needed by teachers and students in RA for WADAH materials. The purpose of the study is to understand the design of Smart Fan as the media for introducing WADAH to students in RA. The development of the product in this study was done by combining steps from Kemps model and Borg and gall consisting of: (1) potential and problems, (2) data collection, (3) design product (prototype) (4) validation, (5) product revision (6) main field testing, (7) revision.     Efek Persuasi Peribahasa Serta Implementasi Pembelajarannya di SMA

    This research background on learning basic competencies 12.2 proverbs in writing the idea to convince or persuade the reader to be or do something in paragraph form of persuasion. Lessons are included in the curriculum for the class x KTSP second semester. The problems of this study (1) what are the effects of persuasion contained in proverbs, (2) how the implementation of learning persuasion School (SMA), based on a review pragmatic in proverbs. Based on the formulation of the problem this study aims to (1) describe the effect of persuasion proverbs, (2) make a persuasive learning design maxim in high school. This study uses several theories as follows: (1) pragmatics, (2) aspects of meaning, (3) the meaning of persuasion, (4) proverb. The data source of this research was obtained from the Dictionary of Proverbs J.S Badudu and Kamusperibahasa.com (attached data). Collecting data in this study using methods refer to proceed with the log. Data analysis using a unified and pragmatic pilah power. This study is structured to be a design study in high school. X classes the second semester, the curriculum KTSP. 12.2 Basic competencies writing ideas to convince or persuade the reader to be or do something in paragraph form of persuasion. Based on the results of 11 Data maxim that has been investigated is found maxim that has been referred to the effects of persuasion effect of ethical 1 data, the sensitizing effect 1 data, the effect humble 2 data, the effect of wisdom 2 data, the effect of fidelity 2 data, the effect of simplicity 1 record, effects alertness 1 data, the effect unyielding 1 data.     KEEFEKTIFAN TEKNIK KNOW, WHAT, LEARN (KWL) DALAM PERKULIAHAN MEMBACA MAHASISWA PRODI PBSI FKIP UNTIDAR TAHUN AJARAN 2016/2017

    The aims of this research are: (1) prove the significant difference between the result of students’ reading comprehension using KWL technique and the students without KWL technique and (2) prove the effectiveness of KWL technique in reading class. This research applied quasi experiment with Randomized Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The populations were the second semester students of Indonesian education and literature study program in the academic year of 2016/2017. Test was used as the instrument of this research. Then, the data was analyzed by using T-test. The results of the study show that (1) there is a difference on the students’ reading comprehension result using KWL and the students without KWL technique. It is shown by Sig value (2-tailed) in experiment class posttest and control class is less than 0.050. (2) KWL technique is effective to be used in reading class.Keywords: reading, KWL technique.

    Karya sastra tidak dapat dipahami dan diteliti terlepas dari dunia pembaca karena karya sastra merupakan salah satu wujud realisasi diri seorang pembaca yang memberikan konkretisasi terhadap ruang-ruang kosong yang terdapat dalam karya sastra itu sendiri. Konkretisasi terhadap karya sastra tersebut dapat diejawantahkan melalui tanggapan, baik aktif maupun pasif oleh pembaca karya sastra. Tanggapan pembaca menjadi suatu hal pokok dalam kajian resepsi sastra sebagai paradigma pendekatan ekstrinsik dalam sastra yang menekankan pada hubungan antara karya sastra dengan pembaca. Resepsi Hermawan Aksan sebagai pembaca  ̶ yang dalam hal ini juga berperan sebagai seorang penulis− terhadap cerita perang bubat  ̶ yang dalam hal ini terdapat dalam novel Niskala ̶  dapat dikaji dengan menggunakan toeri resepsi sastra. Resepsi terhadap cerita perang bubat tersebut dapat ditafsirkan berbeda, tergantung dari posisi dan tendensi seorang pembaca yang sekaligus menjadi seorang penulis dalam memberikan penafsiran terhadap suatu permasalan.Kata kunci: Resepsi, Perang Bubat, Novel Niskala

    The teaching-learning process in this school is still run traditionally in which a teacher-centered approach is occured. The teacher explains the subject matter and after that the students are asked to do the exercises. There are no activities that increase students’ motivation to increase students’ concentration and interest in the lesson.In relation to the problems, a structured and integrated training and mentoring are needed to be done. The skill of creating activities that lasted 2 to 3 minutes aimed at maintaining the concentration and motivation of students is absolutely necessary for the learning process to be effective. In addition, it takes some time for the brain to process new information in it.This program started with training activities to change the mindset and increase teachers' insight into the importance of energizers in learning. In this training, teachers are required to be creative in creating various kinds of fun activities on the sidelines of learning.     Assessment is needed in the activity deals with teaching learning process as well as the learning of speaking ability in higher education. Basically, assessment for lecturers is not a novelty. Assessment is important since it is done in every learning process. It is necessary to be done because the result of assessment can be used as one of the standards of learners’ competency in understanding the material. Number and value can be used as the standard of learning success since they are the characteristics of the assessment. In doing the assessment of learning outcomes, the lecturers should notice the assessment principles as the qualified assessments guidelines. The assessment principles which are needed to be actualized in the assessment of learning outcomes in speaking ability are validation principle, competence education, objective, fair, open, continuity, comprehensive and economical. Based on the reality, some speaking ability’s assessment principles in higher education have not fully actualized yet.  The effort to realize the speaking ability’s assessment principle in higher education is by doing assessment based on information technology. The use of information technology in assessing speaking ability can actualize the assessment principle.     PENINGKATAN KETERAMPILAN BERMAIN DRAMA DENGAN METODE ROLE PLAYING PADA KELOMPOK TEATER KENES SMPN 4 YOGYAKARTA

    This research aims to improve the skills of Teater Kenes SMPN 4 Yogyakarta in performing the drama with the “Role Playing” method. This method is one of the various methods used in the study of Drama Performance. One of the advantages of utilizing this method is to help students in solving their personal problems. Role Playing provides the opportunity for students to determine their personal problems, then do some experiment in various ways to resolve the problems when it occurs.This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR). The subject of the research is Teater Kenes, SMPN 4 Yogyakarta involving 10 students. This study consists of two cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages, namely planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques are questionnaires, interviews, observation and documentation of the learning activities. Analyses are performed with a qualitative descriptive technique that is supported by quantitative data. The validity of the data obtained through validity (processes, products, democratic, and dialogue) and reliability.The results shown that the method of Role Playing can improve playing skills in Teater Kenes SMPN 4 Yogyakarta. The ability of the students in role-play before their implementation of measures categorized is considered as Below Average Category. However, after the implementation of the action during the two cycles, the ability of the students in the drama belongs to Good Category. It is based on the observation of students from Pre-Action with the arithmetic mean value of 17.6 (29.33%), the first cycle of 21.1 (35.17%), and the second cycle the average value of count to 37, 6 (62.67%). The ability to play drama of the students from Pre-Action to the second cycle is increased by 20 (33.34%). Moreover, the process of learning to play the drama is also increased. Prior to the implementation of the action, the students were not stimulated to play a role, less active, and were hesitate to make a move so that the target is less than standard. After the implementation of the action, students become more daring, active in learning, and they are not hesitate to make a move, even they are able to improvise. It can be seen from the observation during the learning process of Pre-Action with the arithmetic mean value of 7.6 (38%), the first cycle of 9.6 (48%), and the second cycle the average value of count to 17, 2 (86%). Thus, the process of learning to play the drama of Pre-Action to the second cycle is increased by 9.6 (48%).Keywords: dramatic play, role playing, teater kenes SMPN 4 yogyakart

    This paper focuses on analyzing a novel entitled “A Visit from the Goon Squad” using sociological approach. The purpose is to reveal the connection between the content of the novel with the social background and history when it was written and also with the social background and biography of the author. The connection is to reveal the improvement of a literary movement in America at the time. The result shows that the author uses an experimental combination in writing the novel which is much more influenced by the use of computer. Many contents of the novel are in form of table, graphic, and some other types of presentation which are not considered as part of literary work form. This kind of style applied is largely considered as a hibridity in literature and is under the avant garde movement.Key words: Jennifer Egan, sociologcal approach, hibridity, avant garde movement in America
