Beteiligt durch Unterstützte Kommunikation
Unterstützte Kommunikation (UK) bietet in der Praxis und in der Wissenschaft Sozialer Arbeit Potential, um (junge) Menschen mit komplexen Beeinträchtigungen als gleichberechtigte Gesellschaftsmitglieder zu beteiligen. Dies zeigt die vorliegende qualitative Fall- und Netzwerkstudie auf, indem sie sich gezielt dem Einzelfall widmet und durch UK-Methodenanwendung nicht/kaum lautsprachlich kommunizierende junge Erwachsene mit komplexen Beeinträchtigungen zu ihren individuellen Lebenswirklichkeiten im Übergang Schule – Beruf befragt. Ziel ist es, Barrieren und Förderfaktoren der Kommunikation und der Teilhabe an Bildung/Arbeit/Beruf sowie sozialer Gemeinschaft zu ermitteln. Teilnehmende Beobachtungen, soziale Netzwerkanalysen und Befragungen naher Vertrauens- und Bezugspersonen runden das multiperspektivische Studiendesign ab. Handlungsleitende Empfehlungen für eine nachhaltige Kommunikationsunterstützung und (Aus-)Bildungsbeteiligung werden an professionelle Akteur*innen abgebender und aufnehmender (Aus-)Bildungsorte adressiert
Moral Design and Green Technology
Welcome to the Anthropocene, the era in which humans have put a tangible mark on our planet. But also the era in which humans and technology have the potential to shape the necessary transitions towards a sustainable world. Technology and nature are often considered as two opposing phenomena. However, they are increasingly intertwined, for better or worse. In this book, we explore how technology and nature relate to one another in the moral design of new, green technology. This book is relevant for IT and engineering professionals, business leaders and policy makers with (green) innovation in their portfolios and students of (applied) science who are interested in either sustainable and green design of technology or in the application of technology – with an emphasis on AI and IT – to create a greener, more sustainable world. AI Robotics
Artificial intelligence (AI) robots can learn from their experiences, make decisions in real time, understand natural language and human gestures, and utilize computer vision to perceive and comprehend their environments. Beginning with the rudimentary concepts of AI, AI Robotics: Ethics, Algorithms, and Technology of Artificial Intelligence-Powered Robots explores the intersection of robotics and physics and emphasizes the need for strict adherence to ethical principles in relation to overall progress and the development of humankind. Chapters on robots capable of talking, listening, and visual perception similar to human beings are followed by discussions of those that display emotional intelligence. This book also discusses task and motion planning, a set of methods that help robot hardware achieve high-level goals by breaking down tasks into smaller, more manageable steps. Lastly, the text describes autonomous robots that can make independent decisions and execute tasks on their own, utilizing sensors and AI-enabled software programmed with predefined guidelines and data. The contribution addresses the issue of prejudice against children related to age differences. The first two paragraphs refer to contributions from historical research that have highlighted long- lasting processes of discrimination against children. The following paragraph focuses on the right of the child to express him or herself and his/her right to be heard: through these rights, the 20th century came to the full recognition of the human dignity of children. The last part focuses on “childism”, that is, on that prejudice that we are not yet fully able to recognize and that instead it would be important to thematize in order to see more clearly the discrimination that children still suffer and to take action against it
