Artificial Intelligence-Driven Methods for Remote Sensing Target and Object Detection
No full textThe aim of this reprint is to provide readers with an in-depth understanding of state-of-the-art technical approaches related to remote sensing target detection and object detection. Remote sensing target detection or object detection determines the presence of a target or object of interest in a remote sensing image, playing a decisive role in the fields of resource detection, environmental monitoring, national security, etc. In recent years, artificial intelligence (AI) has made great progress and been successfully applied to regression, clustering, classification and many other fields. Although AI-driven approaches can handle massive quantities of data acquired by remote sensors, they require many high-quality labeled samples to deal with remote sensing big data, leading to fragile results. That is, AI-driven approaches with strong ability for feature extraction have limited performance and are still far from practical demands. Thus, target detection or object detection in the presence of a complicated background with limited labeled samples remains a challenging mission. Preserving and Exhibiting Media Art
No full textThis important and first-of-its-kind collection addresses the emerging challenges in the field of media art preservation and exhibition, providing an outline for the training of professionals in this field. Since the emergence of time-based media such as film, video and digital technology, artists have used them to experiment with their potential. No full textThe main objective of this work is to address the challenges posed by the increasing use of technology and the associated risks, such as cyberbullying, by assessing their impact on adolescents’ psychological adjustment, social functioning, and academic performance. The guide provides a step-by-step approach to implementing an intervention program with adolescents, aimed at tackling problematic technology use and cyberbullying, while also enhancing awareness and understanding of these phenomena and their impact during adolescence.
The psychoeducational program PsicoTIC is structured into six one-hour sessions delivered on a weekly basis. Throughout these sessions, adolescents will (depending on their level of engagement and the conditions under which the program is implemented) acquire knowledge about problematic technology use and cyberbullying, along with the key characteristics that define them.PublishedEl principal objetivo de la obra es abordar el reto que supone el aumento del uso de las tecnologías y los riesgos asociados, como el ciberacoso, evaluando sus consecuencias en el ajuste psicológico, el funcionamiento social y el rendimiento académico de los/as adolescentes. No full textThis open access book provides an overview of the current state of financial argument mining and financial text generation, and presents the authors’ thoughts on the blueprint for NLP in finance in the agent AI era. Financial documents contain numerous causal inferences and subjective opinions. In a previous book, “From Opinion Mining to Financial Argument Mining” (Springer, 2021), the first author discussed understanding financial documents in a fine-grained manner, particularly those containing opinions. The book highlighted several future directions, such as financial argument mining, multimodal opinion understanding, and analysis generation, and anticipated a lengthy journey for these topics. However, since 2022, ChatGPT and large language models (LLMs) have shown promising advancements, motivating the authors to write this second book on the topic of financial Natural Language Processing (NLP). Agent-based AI systems have been widely discussed since the advent of LLMs. This book aims to equip researchers and practitioners with the latest methodologies, concepts, and frameworks for developing, deploying, and evaluating AI agents with capabilities in multimodal understanding, decision-making, and interaction. It places a special emphasis on human-centered decision-making and multi-agent cooperation in financial applications. The book surveys the current landscape and discuss future research and development directions. Targeting a wide audience, from students to seasoned researchers in AI and finance, this book offers an overview of recent trends in Agent AI for finance. It provides a foundation for students to understand the field and design their research direction, while inviting experienced researchers to engage in discussions on open research questions informed by pilot experimental results. Although this book focuses on financial applications, the discussed concepts and methods can also be applied to other real-world applications by integrating domain-specific characteristics. No full textThis anthology deals with current research on Norwegian educational history. The nine articles build on presentations from a conference – organized in Drammen by the University of South East Norway in April 2023 – about Norwegian educational history, which is an area of research that has developed significantly during the last decade. New networks have been founded, academic positions on educational history have been imposed on Norwegian universities, and several anthologies and monographies have been published. Accordingly, this book is a fruitful result of this rehabilitation of Norwegian educational history. The anthology authors mainly come from Norwegian academic research milieus, but some Swedish and Danish scholars also write texts in the book. Generally, the anthology – which mainly focuses on the 19th and 20th centuries – manifests how schools and education always reflect the surrounding society and its dominating ideologies and structures, for example concerning how the implementation reform pedagogy is connected to the process of democratization; how school disciplines, in various ways, are affected by changing civic norms and ideas; how national and Scandinavian ideologies have influenced textbooks; how the development of the Nordic welfare state system decided different types of psychological and pedagogical categorizations of children; how new epistemological approaches in the academic world impact educational policy and curriculum; and on how changes in the Norwegian school system should be interpreted in an international context.;Internasjonalt har det utdanningshistoriske feltet endret seg og vokst de siste tiårene. I samme periode har skole- og pedagogisk idéhistorie i Norge mistet sin tradisjonelle posisjon innen pedagogikk og lærerutdanning. De siste årene har derimot utdanningshistoriske tema blitt løftet innen samfunnsvitenskap, humaniora og ulike skolefag. De ni artiklene i denne antologien gir eksempler fra dagens utdanningshistoriske perspektiv og forskning. Som samlet verk viser dette feltets dybde, bredde og relevans for skole og samfunn. Bokens ni artikler bygger på foredrag fra den første norske utdanningshistoriske konferansen arrangert i april 2023. I Drammen møttes drøyt 70 norske og skandinaviske forskere med utdanningshistorie som felles interesse og fokus. Konferansen ble arrangert av ”Nettverk for norsk utdanningshistorie”, dannet i 2022 etter nordisk og særlig svensk inspirasjon. Nettverk for norsk utdanningshistorie, den første konferansen og dette verket befester og gir løfte om en ny norsk utdanningshistorie. Vi setter punktum for den første konferansen og ser fram til neste i Bergen 2026. Artiklene viser hvordan skole og utdanning historisk speiler samfunnet og utvikling over tid. Vi får innblikk i koblinger mellom reformpedagogikk og demokratisering, mellom en tids samfunns- og borgerideal og skolefagenes innhold. Lenge påvirket nasjonsbygging og nasjonal identitet lærebøker, slik læremidler i kunnskapsløftenes tid preges av menneskerettigheter og demokrati. Vi ser også hvordan velferdsstatens politiske og pedagogiske prosjekt legitimerte psykologisk sortering og kategorisering av barn, og dveler ved forhold mellom bevaringspolitikk, kildetilgang og kunnskapshistorie. Over tid har ulike ambisjoner, vitensfelt og kunnskapssyn slått inn og preget elevens og skolens verden. Artiklene viser hvordan norsk pedagogikk, skole og utdanningsfelt samtidig er preget av særnasjonal tradisjon og internasjonale ideer fram mot vår tids «usamtidighet». No full textThis book focuses on a previously undiscovered work by the famous Jewish social work pioneer Siddy Wronsky (1883–1947) from Berlin. In her novel 'Sand and Stars'; Wronsky describes the immigration of four young Jews from Nazi Germany to Palestine; and their educational work and mission in the new land. As the analysis shows; this book is deeply embedded in the translation of social work from Germany to Mandatory Palestine as a 'gendered profession' in the making. It also reveals Wronsky as an agent of the transnational transfer of feminist ideas in relation to nationality/national identity; and the aspect of feminist literary activism at the time in relation to social welfare and social ideas and theories
