Multifunctional Coatings on Medical Devices
This Special Issue is dedicated to highlighting important advancements in the development of multifunctional coatings on the surface of biomaterials used in medical devices, such as implants, scaffolds for tissue engineering, etc. It is generally acknowledged that one of the most pressing current challenges is the development of biomaterials with new characteristics and properties that can be used in various medical applications. Medical devices are extremely useful in medicine for both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes, and have come to be widely used in plastic and reconstructive surgery, dentistry, orthopedics, neurosurgery, cardiovascular surgery, urology, etc. Multifunctional coatings can endow implantable systems with particular properties and promote their interaction with adjacent cells and tissue fluids, depending on the function and location of the medical device. Furthermore, the surfaces of medical devices can be coated with antibiotic-containing layers with the capacity to counteract bacterial adhesion. Currently, an interesting research direction concerns the development of smart coatings based on biomaterials, which change their properties in response to environmental stimuli. The immobilization of biofunctional molecules and biomolecules on biomaterials to form biofunctional coatings is another challenge that researchers are striving to overcome. Of course, many other remarkable examples could be given. The articles in this Reprint provide valuable contributions to the field of intelligent and beneficial coatings fabricated with and applied to biomaterials, and demonstrate their applications in medicine

Multiphase Flows in Deformable Geomaterials
Multiphase Flows in Deformable Geomaterials proposes that multiscale coupling of multiphase flow and multicomponents within a deformable porous medium is complex and interdisciplinary and lacks a unified theory. To address this gap, the book proposes chemo-physical Mixture-Coupling Theory and non-equilibrium thermodynamic processes to derive governing equations for multiphase transport and mechanical behavior. This addresses challenges in the existing multiscale coupling theory and brings together physics and chemistry within the realm of thermodynamics. The series of constitutive equations can be applied to any constitutive model in porous media, across many disciplines related to soils, concrete, and catalysis. This book is particularly addressed to geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering—bringing together multiphase flows of water and gas, chemicals, and within soils and rocks. Highlights include hydro‑mechanical coupling, unsaturated hydro‑mechanical‑chemical coupling, thermo‑hydro‑mechanical coupling, and thermo‑hydromechanical‑chemical coupling, with consideration of chemo and thermo osmosis and microscopic swelling mechanisms. The Youth of Early Modern Women
Through fifteen essays that work from a rich array of primary sources, this collection makes the novel claim that early modern European women, like men, had a youth. European culture recognised that, between childhood and full adulthood, early modern women experienced distinctive physiological, social, and psychological transformations. Drawing on two mutually shaped layers of inquiry — cultural constructions of youth and lived experiences — these essays exploit a wide variety of sources, including literary and autobiographical works, conduct literature, judicial and asylum records, drawings, and material culture. The geographical and temporal ranges traverse England, Ireland, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Spain, and Mexico from the sixteenth to the eighteenth century. MODERN METHODS OF ENSURING INFORMATION PROTECTION IN CYBERSECURITY SYSTEMS USING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AND BLOCKCHAIN TECHNOLOGY
This scientific work is devoted to the development and improvement of information protection methods to counteract unauthorized access to information activity facilities and their telecommunication networks. The conclusions of the study indicate the need to implement innovative solutions to increase the level of security in modern cyberspace.
An improved algorithm for determining and transferring node hosts in the Blockchain system is proposed, which uses floating hosts to increase the adaptability of the network to external attacks. This allows to automatically close ports during scanning, making it difficult for attackers to access the system and increasing the overall level of network protection.
A study of GPT models has shown their high efficiency in detecting cyberattacks on information activity facilities and their telecommunication networks. GPT-4.0 has demonstrated increased efficiency in processing and detecting various types of attacks compared to GPT-3.5, which provides faster response time and improves the overall level of security.
The developed method of collecting event logs from decoys based on Blockchain provides high fault tolerance and reliability of logs, which is critically important for protecting information objects and telecommunication networks. The decentralized nature of Blockchain prevents unauthorized editing of information, creating a reliable system for storing attack data.
The developed model of a dynamic system of active traps based on software decoys using Blockchain technology integrates decentralized and automatically updated attributes of traps. This increases the effectiveness of network protection, reduces the load on the infrastructure and the response time of services during attacks, which increases the channel throughput and data transfer rate.
The developed mathematical description of the calculation of dynamic attributes of software decoys takes into account the capabilities of Blockchain Solana, which made it possible to model and optimize the distribution of network resources. This increased the effectiveness of protection and ensured a quick response of services during external attacks.
The method of using Blockchain-based software decoys obtained in the work increases the resources required by the attacker to carry out an attack, which increases the response time of cybersecurity specialists. The use of dynamic Blockchain-based software decoys demonstrates better performance compared to static and other dynamic analogues, increasing the overall level of computer network security. The proposed cybercrime research system detects known attacks 31% faster and is able to detect unknown attacks thanks to training the Isolation Forest model. The time for analyzing cybercrimes has been significantly reduced thanks to the use of the GPT model, which provides an effective and fast response to threats.Publishe

Wie gelingen Methoden der Demokratiebildung und politischen Bildung in der Jugendsozialarbeit? Das wurde zusammen mit Einrichtungen und den Landesjugendämtern in NRW erprobt und ausgewertet. Fachkräfte eröffnen demokratische Partizipation durch Sicherung von Rechten und Verfahren der Mitentscheidung der Jugendlichen. Die vorgestellten Praxisprojekte in Jugendwerkstätten zeigen, wie Beteiligung und politische Bildung aus alltäglichen Situationen mit den Jugendlichen entwickelt werden können. Auch in Beratungsstellen der Jugendsozialarbeit wurden Möglichkeiten demokratischer Mitbestimmung entwickelt
