O 25 de Abril de 1974 na voz dos cartoons: Uma coleção da Companhia de Diamantes de Angola (Diamang)
As part of the commemorations of the 50th anniversary of 25 April 1974, this work publishes 115 cartoons, caricatures, comics and drawings, both national and international, dated between April 27, 1974, and September 1st, 1975, from the collection of Clippings organised by the Companhia de Diamantes de Angola. The time frame makes it possible to observe the first graphic reactions to the Carnation Revolution and the consequent socio-political changes, the appearance of new protagonists or the emergence of others who until then had been in the shadows, and until the Hot Summer of 1975.
The names of the Portuguese cartoonists Cid, João Abel Manta, Sam, Vasco, or Zepe, together with international reference names such as French cartoonist Siné. Revisiting these cartoons 50 years later allows us to think about the satirical, humorous and polemical perspectives that these cartoons bring to events and the key players of 25 April 1974, but also about this nine art.

This article discusses sources and methods to analyze the dynamics of social mobility in the ancient régime, focusing on the case of Bergamo between the fifteenth and eighteenth centuries. After a brief methodological reflection, the evolution of Bergamo’s economic and demographic context over the centuries examined is outlined. Thanks to the analysis of fiscal sources (tax-land registers) and the registers of municipal deliberations, two indicators are then proposed to measure social mobility in relation to the distribution of wealth and to the access to local political institutions. Finally, by selecting some exemplary cases among the local kinships, the possible relationship between the two mobility dynamics examined is considered
Analysis of Strain, Stress and Texture with Quantum Beams, 2nd Edition
Quantum beams refer to neutrons and synchrotron radiation, and the facilities that use them are not familiar research methods. However, the micro-beams with high-brightness and high-energy X-rays have their penetrating power. The quantum beam has excellent capabilities for evaluating materials. Japan has the neutron facilities J-PARC and JRR-3, and the synchrotron radiation facility SPring-8. This reprint contains research articles that used these representative facilities in Japan. Specifically, it summarizes the latest research results on stress, strain, and texture using synchrotron radiation and neutrons in Japan. From of the perspective of materials, the works in this reprint cover a wide range of topics, not only including common metallic materials, but also coarse grains, welding materials, superconducting materials, construction materials, thermal barrier coatings, and composite materials. Measurement methods are based on diffraction. In terms of methodology, the time-of-flight method using neutrons, the double exposure method using synchrotron radiation suitable for coarse grains, the extended 3DXRD, and the constant penetration depth method are also included in this reprint. Numerical simulation techniques move into the mainstream in the evaluation of stress–strain of materials. However, when stress, strain, and texture are measured, the results of the numerical calculations differ from reality. As the saying goes, "seeing is believing"; science cannot advance with numerical calculations alone. By reading each of these papers, you should be able to find clues to solving the problems you are facing
Fuzzy Decision Support Systems for Efficient Energy Management
This reprint highlights innovative research on fuzzy decision support systems (FDSSs) applied to efficient energy management. As global energy demands grow and fossil fuel resources vanish, decision-makers face increasing complexity in balancing sustainability, cost, and performance. The contributions in this collection explore how FDSSs offer powerful tools for navigating uncertainty and supporting complex, multi-criteria decisions across various energy-related domains. Topics include FDSS applications in construction, mobility, industry, environmental management (air, water, soil), and the broader energy lifecycle from exploration to supply. By integrating socio-economic and ecological considerations, this reprint provides a valuable resource for researchers and practitioners developing intelligent and adaptable solutions for energy efficiency
Welt-Wissen und kartografische Repräsentation
This interdisciplinary study explores the controversially discussed question of whether and how geographical and cultural knowledge from the Arab-Islamic world was utilised by European mapmakers. The contextual analysis of cartographic representations – from diagrammatic maps of the three known continents and the seven climes to detailed world maps and Portolan charts – as well as accompanying source texts from the 10th to the beginning of the 15th century demonstrates the complex dynamics of the transmission of knowledge, which was neither linear nor continuous. Following the spatial turn, maps are understood as hybrid, socio-cultural cultural sources that conceptualise space and transmit cultural world views, which were used to pursue a variety of interests.
Exploring the Complexity of Identities and Boundaries within the New Testament World
The objective of this Special Edition is to engage in a critical examination of the intricate nature of identity as depicted in the New Testament and the related literature, particularly through the lens of social identity complexity theory. Methodologically, this reprint builds upon the most recent advancements in New Testament studies, where social identity theory, as developed by Tajfel and Turner, has been effectively employed to explore the dynamics of identity formation within New Testament texts. Philip Esler pioneered this approach in New Testament studies during the early 1990s. Since then, the field has evolved, with increasing attention paid to nested and co-existing identities. This trend is seen in the edited T&T Clark Social Identity Handbook (Tucker et al. 2014) and Commentary (Tucker and Kuecker at al 2019). The social psychologists Roccas and Brewer developed social identity complexity theory (SICT) in recent years, and Jacobus Kok was the first New Testament scholar to apply this theory as a heuristic tool within New Testament studies. This theoretical framework offers new avenues for critically reflecting on the complexity inherent in nested and co-existing identities, as well as the varying degrees of complexity and boundary distinctions they may represent. This volume makes a novel contribution to the field by critically examining both the theoretical aspects of SICT and the fresh insights it provides for New Testament and early Christian studies
