The quality of reports of medical and public health research from Palestinian institutions : a systematic review
No full textResearch reports are the most common way to communicate research findings for target readerships. Complete, accurate and transparent reporting of research studies facilitates dissemination, interpretation, translation and replication of research findings. Inadequate reporting has major consequences for clinicians, researchers, policy makers and ultimately patients. It impairs critical assessment of the validity, relevance and trustworthiness of research and so impedes its use in practice. It also limits the usability of study findings by other researchers conducting
systematic reviews and meta-analyses and building on or replicating studies. In addition, inadequate reporting is one of the key contributors to avoidable waste in biomedical research. No full textتسلط هذه الورقة الضوء على واقع الهوية والوعي السياسي في الجولان المحتل. وأستخدم لهذا الغرض بعض المنظورات الفلسفية والسوسيولوجية المعروفة التي قد تكشف أشياء، وتخفي أخرًا. لقد اعتمدت نوعًا من السرد التاريخي لتبين تطورات محددة في بنية ومؤسسات المجتمع الجولاني وجدليته مع الاحتلال الإسرائيلي. جاء هذا النص خلاصة سنوات طويلة من الاهتمام والتفكير، والانخراط في جوانب من الهم العام، وتبادل الآراء مع عدد من الزملاء في الجولان المحتل. لقد فتح النص أمامي عددًا من النقاط التي تحتاج إلى مزيد من البحث، وأعده تجريبيًّا، وآمل أن يكون فيه مادة مفيدة للمهتمين في تطوير النقد التاريخي والثقافي. فالهدف منه رسم معالم تاريخية ومستقبلية لمسيرة بناء الذات ومقاومة الوعي الاستعماري في سياق تزداد فيه الهيمنة المادية وتدخلات السلطة البيرقراطية والترويج للأيديولوجية الصهيونية عبر أجهزة دولة الرفاه
The role of the Palestinian sports media in spreading the spirit of fair play among athletes
No full textتهدف هذه الدراسة للتعرف إلى دور الإعلام الرياضي الفلسطيني في إشاعة روح اللعب النظيف لدى الرياضيين. واستخدم الباحث المنهج الوصفي بصورته المسحية، حيث تكونت العينة من (124) فردا من ذوي العلاقة بالرياضة في الضفة الغربية، وتم إخبارهم بالطريقة العشوائية، و تم إختيار (40) لاعبا و (26) حكما و (23) مدربا و (23) إداريا و (12) من الإعلاميين الرياضيين.
و استخدمت الإستبانة كأداة لجمع البيانات حيث تضمنت الإستبانة أربعة محاور هي (الإعلام الرياضي الفلسطيني بالنسبة للرياضيين، الإعلام الرياضي و روح اللعب النظيف قبل المنافسة، الإعلام الرياضي و روح اللعب النظيف أثناء المنافسة، الإعلام الرياضي و روح اللعب النظيف بعد المنافسة) و للإجابة على تساؤلات الدراسة استخدم الباحث المتوسطات الحسابية و النسب المئوية و الإنحراف المعياري لكل فقرة من فقرات الإستبانة، و إختبار التباين الأحادي

و قد أظهرت النتائج إتفاق عينة البحث على أنه لكي يقوم الإعلام الرياضي الفلسطيني في إشاعة روح اللعب النظيف لدى الرياضيين يجب أن يراعى أربعة عوامل رئيسية في نشر روح اللعب النظيف و هي إشاعة روح اللعب النظيف للرياضيين بشكل عام، نشر روح اللعب النظيف قبل المنافسة، نشر روح اللعب النظيف أثناء المنافسة، نشر روح اللعب النظيف بعد المنافسة، و قد أوصى الباحث بضرورة إشاعة روح اللعب النظيف من خلال وسائل الإعلام الرياضية الفلسطينية قبل و أثناء و بعد المنافسة و ضرورة استحداث برنامج عملي لتأهيل الكادر الإعلامي الرياضي الفلسطيني لمواكبة التطورات الحديثة في مجال الإعلام الرياضي من شأنها خلق وعي لدى الأسرة الرياضية مجتمعة
This study aimed to identify the role of Palestinian sports media in spreading the spirit of fair playing among athletes .
The study followed the descriptive method. The study sample consisted of one hundred twenty four individuals who are involved in sports in the West Bank, and they are forty players , twenty six rulers athletes, twenty three coaches, twenty three administrators and twelve media athletes, who were chosen randomly. The questionnaire used as a tool of data collection, which included four axes (Palestinian sports media for athletes, sports media and the spirit of fair play before the competition, sports media and the spirit of fair play during the competition, the sports media and the spirit of fair play after the competition). The results of study showed the sample agreement that the order for the Palestinian sports media in spreading the spirit of fair play among athletes must take into account four main factors in spreading the spirit of fair play, which foster a spirit of fair play for athletes in general, spread the spirit of fair play before athletic competition, spread the spirit of fair playing during athletic competition, spread the spirit of fair play after athletic competition. The study recommended the need for fostering a spirit of fair playing in the Palestinian sports media before, during and after the competition, and the need to develop a practical program for the rehabilitation of the Palestinian sports media staff to keep up with modern developments in the field of sports media, that will create awareness among the family sports combined
Geometric approaches and bifurcations in the dichotomous decision model
No full textResorting to the Dichotomous decision model, where individuals can make alternative decisions, we study two geometric approaches to construct all possible decisions tiling. Each decision tiling indicates the way the Nash equilibria co-exist and change with the relative decision preferences of the individuals. We find the Nash domains for the pure and mixed strategies and characterize the space of all parameters where the pure Nash equilibria are either cohesive or disparate. We show how the coordinates of the influence matrix together with the total number of individuals affect significantly the occurrence of bifurcations with and without overlaps between the pure strategies
S-shaped vs. V-shaped transfer functions for ant lion optimization algorithm in feature selection problem
No full textFeature selection is an important preprocessing step for classification problems. It deals with selecting near optimal features in the original dataset. Feature selection is an NP-hard problem, so meta-heuristics can be more efficient than exact methods. In this work, Ant Lion Optimizer (ALO), which is a recent metaheuristic algorithm, is employed as a wrapper feature selection method. Six variants of ALO are proposed where each employ a transfer function to map a continuous search space to a discrete search space. The performance of the proposed approaches is tested on eighteen UCI datasets and compared to a number of existing approaches in the literature: Particle Swarm Optimization, Gravitational Search Algorithm and two existing ALO-based approaches. Computational experiments show that the proposed approaches efficiently explore the feature space and select the most informative features, which help to improve the classification accuracy
