Pacet Hill is a steep volcanic landscape with a high risk of erosion and varying degrees of land degradation. This study evaluates land suitability at various levels of criticality to determine priority commodities in sustainable agroforestry development. Field surveys, soil analysis, and spatial analysis were carried out from February to August 2025 on an area of about 104 hectares. Land characteristics, including climate, slope slope, soil texture, nutrient status, and erosion hazards, were assessed using a matching-based suitability approach supported by scoring systems, correlation analysis, and regression analysis. The results of the study show that slope, erosion hazard, and nutrient limitations are the main factors that limit land productivity. Arabica and avocado coffees show the highest levels of suitability, while chili peppers and cabbage require additional management interventions. The land suitability regression model yields a value of Adjusted R² = 0.60, which indicates that the 60% variability of the suitability score can be explained by the parameters analyzed. Land criticality was predicted using the equation Y = –0.38(slope) – 4.85(pH) + 7.09(C-organic) + 55.6(N-total) + 0.8(CEC) + 616, d Adjusted R² = 0.633 and p < 0.05, which shows the model's strong ability to explain land degradation conditions. The correlation between land suitability and land criticality was very weak (r = 0.2236), suggesting that although the two are indirectly related through erosion processes, they represent different environmental dimensions. These findings provide the basis for soil conservation strategies and support sustainable agroforestry planning in the Pacet Hill region. Siam oranges (Citrus nobilis) are abundant commodities, with the fruit flesh being commonly utilized, while the peel is often discarded as waste. The peel contains flavonoids, limonin, hesperidin, and pectin, which function as antioxidants and natural gelling agents. This study used both the peel and juice of Siam oranges, with the addition of sugar. The orange juice serves as a solvent for the mixture of ingredients, while sugar adds sweetness and helps maintain the consistency of the jam during cooking. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of different proportions of orange peel and juice, with varying sugar concentrations, on the physicochemical and organoleptic characteristics of Siam orange jam, and to determine the optimal formulation. The experiment was designed using a Randomized Complete Block Design in a factorial pattern with two replications. Factor 1 consisted of the proportion of orange peel to orange juice (10:90, 20:80, 30:70), and Factor 2 involved sugar concentration (60%, 65%, 70%) with two replications. Data were analyzed using ANOVA and Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) at a 5% significance level. The results showed that the best treatment was the 30:70 ratio of Siam orange peel to juice with 65% sugar (A3G2), which produced jam with the following characteristics: moisture content of 36.99%; pH of 3.44; total dissolved solids (TDS) of 64.24°Brix; reducing sugar of 20.32%; vitamin C content of 16.48 mg/100g; antioxidant activity of 52.10%; spreadability of 7.12 cm; crude fiber of 0.71%; and hedonic test scores for texture (3.16, slightly like), taste (3.12, slightly like), color (4.16, like), aroma (3.40, slightly like), and overall (3.24, slightly like)

Global production of pomelo reached 9.7 million tons. Magetan Regency has high potential as a pomelo-producing area, reaching 2,996 tons. Sukomoro District is one of the pomelo centers in Magetan Regency. This district produces more pomelo than other districts. However, the average productivity per tree tends to fluctuate and has decreased significantly, from 1.04 kw/tree in 2020 to 0.47 kw/tree in 2024. This decline indicates incompatibility or land degradation. Therefore, an evaluation of Pamelo land is needed to determine the land's potential, characteristics, suitability, and limiting factors. This study was conducted from June 2025 to October 2025. The evaluation was carried out using qualitative and quantitative approaches. The results showed that 9 out of 12 research points were classified as N1 land suitability class or currently unsuitable. The main limiting factors on all lands were nitrogen deficiency and low levels of soil organic matter

POTENTIAL OF A CONSORTIUM OF Bacillus sp., Pseudomonad fluorescent, AND Trichoderma sp. IN ALTERNATIVE SOYBEAN MEDIA ON Ralstonia solanacearum AND TOMATO (Solanum lycopersicum L.) PLANT GROWTH

Bacterial wilt disease caused by Ralstonia solanacearum is a major constraint in tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) cultivation in Indonesia, causing losses of up to 100%. Biological control using antagonistic microbes such as Bacillus sp., fluorescent Pseudomonad, and Trichoderma sp. is an environmentally friendly alternative. This study aimed to test the potential of a consortium of these three microbes in a soybean alternative medium against R. solanacearum and tomato plant growth. The research was conducted in the Screenhouse and Plant Health Laboratory of UPN "Veteran" East Java from November 2024 to July 2025 using In Vitro and In Vivo testing methods with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). In Vitro testing included compatibility and antagonism, while In Vivo testing observed the incubation period, disease intensity, and agronomic aspects. The In Vitro test results showed that the consortium of Trichoderma sp., Bacillus sp., and fluorescent Pseudomonad (TBP) was compatible in the soybean alternative medium (Compatibility Index 0.873) and had the highest inhibitory effect against R. solanacearum with a clear zone area of 17.2 mm, which was categorized as strong. The inhibition mechanism was classified as bacteriostatic. Furthermore, the In Vivo test results confirmed the optimal effectiveness of the TBP consortium. This consortium treatment provided the longest bacterial wilt disease incubation period, reaching 18.38 days, as well as the lowest and most consistent disease incidence, at 17.15 at 35 DAI (Days After Inoculation). In addition to suppressing the disease, the TBP consortium also significantly improved the agronomic aspects, demonstrated by the highest plant height of 58.54cm, the highest number of leaves of 62.77, and the highest fruit fresh weight of 136.00 grams. In conclusion, the consortium of Trichoderma sp., Bacillus sp., and fluorescent Pseudomonad cultured on a soybean alternative medium has high potential as a biocontrol agent to suppress R. solanacearum bacterial wilt disease while increasing the growth and production of tomato plants

Bio-coagulants are natural coagulant agents derived from plant biomass that function to reduce turbidity and organic content in wastewater through charge neutralization and floc formation. This study utilized mangrove leaves (Rhizophora sp.) as a tannin source for bio-coagulants in tofu industry wastewater treatment. Tannin extraction was carried out using the sonication–maceration method with 96% ethanol as the solvent. Variations of leaf powder mass (10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 g) and sonication duration (20, 40, 60, 80, and 100 minutes at 20 kHz frequency) were applied before maceration for 48 hours. The filtrate was evaporated at 80 °C to remove the solvent, and the tannin content was determined by KMnO₄ titration. The highest tannin yield (10.78%) was obtained under the condition of 50 g leaf mass and 100 minutes of sonication, and this extract was subsequently used as a coagulant for tofu wastewater (initial pH 3.59). The coagulation process was conducted through rapid and slow mixing, followed by sedimentation. After treatment, BOD decreased from 1,761.39 to 1,326.49 mg/L (24.7% efficiency), COD decreased from 8,756.22 to 6,208.96 mg/L (29.1%), while TSS increased from 365 to 545 mg/L due to floc formation. The pH slightly increased to 3.71. These results indicate that tannins from mangrove leaves have the potential to act as a natural bio-coagulant for reducing the organic load in tofu wastewater, although the efficiency remains lower than that of chemical coagulants (alum). Further optimization strategies may include combining tannins with mild inorganic coagulants and adjusting the pH to enhance flocculation efficiency
