A Bibliometric Analysis of Video-Based Feedback in Higher Education (2003-2022): Trends, Gaps and Future Directions
Purpose – Video-based feedback presents a unique approach characterised by a conversational narrative and instructor screen captures, enriching students' learning experiences and fostering stronger instructor-student connections. While this innovative methodology has the potential to revolutionise feedback practices in higher education, its full benefits and practical implications for improving learning outcomes remain unexplored. Methodology – This study employs a bibliographic analysis to examine the emerging landscape of video-based feedback research in higher education from 2003 to 2022. Data was systematically curated from the Dimensions database. Out of an initial 25,747 publications, 1,532 publications were selected for final analysis after refining the keyword search to ensure relevance to the subject. VOSviewer was used for bibliographic coupling, keyword co-occurrence, clustering, and co-citation analysis of countries. Findings – The bibliometric analysis reveals a significant increase in publications on video-based feedback in higher education, peaking at 286 publications in 2022. The United States, Germany, and the United Kingdom are identified as leading contributors, with China emerging as a prominent player in Asia. Keyword analysis uncovers potential research gaps, including the need to extend studies beyond medical education, address the specific requirements of adult learners, and investigate the socio emotional dimensions of video-based feedback. Significance – This study provides a significant contribution to understanding video-based feedback in higher education, positioning it as a dynamic and rapidly evolving field driven by the proliferation of online learning. The insights from this analysis offer valuable guidance for future research directions and practical applications, such as developing evidence-based best practices for creating effective video feedback and exploring its impact on student engagement, motivation, and academic achievemen
Legal Issues Faced by Smart Contracts from the Perspective of Conventional Contracts
In the realm of law, technology is utilized to cope with the influx of smart contracts to replace traditional contracts that govern contractual dynamics. Smart contracts differ from traditional contracts as they rely on computer codes to fulfill the contractual obligations of the involved entities. This article discusses the current state of Iraqi contract law and assesses the feasibility of integrating Iraqi law to manage and implement smart contracts within the Iraqi legal system. The study employs a qualitative approach and adopts comparative doctrinal research to investigate current legal practices, the relevant legislation, and the adaptation of Iraqi laws to smart contracts. As a result, the study reveals the inadequacy of Iraqi contract law in incorporating smart contracts into existing legal practices in Iraq. Impact Sustainability in Food Supply Chain: Scoping Review
Food supply chains must balance environmental, economic, and social success to survive. Food supply chains must incorporate strategies that lessen their negative effects on the environment, increase economic resilience, and promote social well-being to be viable over the long run. However, food supply chain faces many quality and efficiency issues. Poor cold chain facilities, transportation and logistics inefficiencies, unsuitable handling equipment, poor road infrastructure, and restricted supply chain partner information sharing are major challenges. These cause significant supply chain losses and waste. Based on a scoping review, this study will investigate impact sustainability in food supply chain and a total of 18 article were analysed. This scoping review of the literature was performed utilising two databases, Web of Science (WoS) and Scopus, to ascertain the characteristics of published scientific literature on this subject and to identify the rising topics of sustainability in food supply chain research. This study identified six primary themes and eighteen sub-themes concerning sustainability within the food supply chain setting. The primary themes encompass organizational readiness, technology, Green Practice, policy, sustainable resourcing, and external relationships. The review suggests that the majority of studies focus on the effects of sustainability within the food supply chain. These results imply that organisations might improve food supply chains, especially during unexpected periods, by considering all impact sustainability. It also provides a comprehensive overview how sustainability can impact efficiency food supply chain. Base on the finding sustainability is gaining popularity, but most study focusses on its effects rather than solutions. Forecasting the Realized Volatility of Islamic Equities using Multivariate Har-Type Models
This study proposes nine multivariate intraday models using various realized variation measures with the aim to improve volatility forecasting in the Islamic stock market in Malaysia using a dataset from 1st April 2008 to 31st March 2018. The findings show that considering independently the jump-robust realized volatility, additional daily jump realized volatility, and continuous and discontinuous jump sample path variations improved the in-sample predictive regressions compared to using the standard realized volatility. For the out-of-sample volatility forecasts evaluation, it is observed that the volatility models that disentangled the realized volatility into its continuous and discontinuous jump components have outperformed the rest of the proposed models. This is because both the continuous and discontinuous variation of returns exhibit distinctive substantial information in yielding the final volatility dynamic and thus should be modeled disjointedly. However, the empirical results suggest that the simple autoregressive specification using the standard realized volatility is often performing better or as well as the new extension models. An Integrated Technology Acceptance Model for Smart City Mobile Applications: Identification of Key Factors and Extension of Technology Adoption
Smart cities have experienced significant improvements in service quality, resident satisfaction, sustainability, and economic development through the application of information and communication technology. With urban populations expected to grow, the adoption of smart city mobile applications (SCMA) can enhance the efficiency and impact of urban regions. This research explores the cognitive factors influencing user engagement and adoption of SCMA, by integrating identified factors with technological adaptation models. The decision of individual users to embrace such as SCMA has garnered attention from both information systems (IS) researchers and industry practitioners. Key factors affecting SCMA user acceptance include perceived enjoyment, innovation, trust, social influence, security, compliance, satisfaction, perceived benefit, ease of use, and intention to use. Data was analyzed using a structural equation model (SEM), with participants responding to questionnaire items on a five-point Likert scale. Out of an initial 1,142 responses, 1,062 valid samples were included in the final analysis after data filtering, achieving a response rate of 67 percent. Enhanced user satisfaction is crucial for the success of SCMA providers. The industry must allocate additional resources toward developing robust and reliable infrastructures and platforms that enhance mobility and service quality. To drive the future of Web 3.0, the industry must also address long-term challenges, such as creating new universal systems and environments. Non-State Actors and Election Management Practices in Nigeria: Issues and Way Forward
Elections are a fundamental principle in any democratic setting. Notwithstanding, the electoral management process in Nigeria has been blighted with several anomalies and conspiracies. To strengthen the election management process, the roles of the non-state players seem essential in realizing these purposes. The primary objective of this study is to identify the institutional and legal framework available for non-state actor involvement in the election administration process in Nigeria’s Fourth Republic using the case study approach to probe into the operations of the Youth Initiative for Advocacy, Growth, and Advancement (YIAGA-Africa). This study adopted the primary and secondary research methods while the research design was qualitative. Primary data were obtained directly through the interviews, while journals, articles, textbooks, periodicals, and the internet formed the secondary basis. The total population for this study was one hundred and forty-seven (147) purposively sampled respondents. The qualitative data results were presented in thematic forms. The study revealed that, indeed, there exists a legal and institutional framework for non-state actors’ involvement in the election management process in Nigeria; however, this remains deficient as a palpable imbalance pervades the legal framework. The study recommends that the National Assembly work out modalities, make new laws, and address misconceptions in the institutional and legal framework for non-state actors to give them a smoother operational environment in the election management proces
