    Halal-Logistics Value Chain On Firm Performances: A Conceptual Framework

    Various studies on logistics have been conducted to examine Logistics Service Provider (LSP) firm performances from many angles. This is important since logistics service has become an important industry globally and the trend also absorb in Malaysia`s commercial market. Growing in innovation trend hs also effected logistics when demand on green logistics take place in international stages on awareness over environmental issues. In line with this development, halal-value concept also emerges and constructively contributes to the sustainability of the industry. Therefore, there is a discrepancy in the study of business models, particularly on the firm performance that have not yet been tested in the role of halal and green logistics as a catalyst for marketing strategies that can benefit a company. Thus, this theoretical paper will delve into previous literatures related to business performance to see the direct relationship between halal and green logistics as independent variable toward firm`s performance. Through this theoretical study, halal-green logistics will be dedicated as element of sustainability marketing in firm`s performance; in which environmental issues and contamination issues will be highlighted and addressed accordingly. This study will propose Resource-based View Theory as underpinning theory to prove inclination of relationship between variables. Finally, the paper will put forward Halal-Logistics Value Chain conceptual framework as initiative to facilitate the global community of researchers and practitioners in understanding the diversity, meaning, and evolution of the halal-green logistics phenomenon in the context of emerging economies, also as improving firm performanc

Mr X, Safety and Health Officer of Northern Port Sdn Bhd needs to submit a report to Dato’ Ahmad, Managing Director and give a good explanation and solution on the depreciating on safety performance.As the business start operated, the cost of safety that NORTHERN SB spend in an increase year by year.There are many problems with safety climate that need to be solved.As we know the environment in NORTHERN SB is very risky. Fulfilling its role as a responsible corporate citizen and abiding by the Occupational, Safety and Health Regulations as well as industry expectations, NORTHERN SB has established a strong in-house policy on Health, Safety and Environment that aims to provide a conducive work environment for its employees.Based on the record there are existing issue in managing safety performance in organizations.     This case study focuses on the managerial challenges facing Tan Sri Khalid Ramli as the CEO of Langkawi Development Authority (LADA) at the time of the study.It focused particularly on efforts to develop Langkawi as a sustainable tourism destination.It assessed the managerial challenges in forming and managing a collaborative effort towards making Langkawi sustainable.     Exploring the strategies for building resilience to poverty in Bauchi State, Nigeria

    The challenges of poverty and insurgency have caused problems of different dimensions in north-eastern Nigeria. Specifically, the Bauchi state had recorded 89.5 percent of Multidimensional Poverty Indicators, more than any other state in the country. The main objective of this study is to explore the strategies that could build resilience to poverty in the study area. To achieve this, a qualitative research design, via semi-structured interview and purposive sampling, were applied. Accordingly, twenty-two informants from the ministries, agencies and commissions, in addition to some selected underprivileged people, were consulted during the data collection. Consequently, the findings from the study indicate that national, state, community and individual strategies were suggested to overcome poverty and other socioeconomic challenges that are faced by the people in Northeastern Nigeria in general, and Bauchi state in particular. The views of the informants ensured that the necessary measures can be taken to address the socioeconomic challenges identified in the state. Some of the community strategies include security initiatives, collaborations with NGOs to cushion the effects of poverty in the towns and villages, and the contributions from religious and traditional institutions. Furthermore, personal empowerment, enhancing peoples confidence, and skills were identified as the individual strategies. Subsequently, by strengthening the federal government, states as well as security arrangements could avert the problems discovered. The expansion of poverty reduction programs, accessible educational policies, youth empowerment schemes, rehabilitation, reconstruction, and the overall development of northeastern Nigeria were suggested

    Confidence Interval Estimation Using Bootstrapping Methods And Maximum Likelihood Estimate

    Confidence interval estimation is an important technique to estimate parameter of a population calculated from a sample drawn from the population. The objective of this study is to present the steps to calculate confidence interval using SPSS. The objective of this paper also is to compare confidence interval using maximum likelihood estimate, percentile bootstrap, and bias-corrected and accelerated methods.Bootstrap is not commonly used because this method is complex to calculate. The advantages of bootstrapping are valid for small samples, and it is a convenient tool. The study found that the BCa method produced CIs closer to the desired level of the coverage than the other methods
