Constructed Wetland on the Ecological Farm Kapl
In my thesis I have presented and described an idea about constructed wetland, which will present the basis for building of constructed wetland on the ecological farm Kapl. According to the given conditions, wishes and ideas of future managers we have made a plan of building constructed wetland on a very steep hillside for two population equivalents.\ud
The whole system will consist of three settling tanks and three plant beds with eight different plant species of marsh plants. Because I have evaluated the hybrid system as the most suitable type of cleaning the wastewater, the first and the third bed will have a vertical flow and the second bed will have a horizontal flow. In all of the three beds the flow will be held subsurface, so we avoid the development of insects and unpleasant smells. Eight plant species will be allocated to three of plant beds based on their cleaning properties of the wastewater and based on time of flowering. \ud
The thesis can be as an useful tool for idea of building constructed wetlands at individual residential buildings in similar locations
Infrastructural gap as an indicator of investment potencial
This thesis is based upon the analysis of the term infrastructure gap, which is hardly ever used in Slovenia even though it represents one of the key suppositions for understanding how the construction services operates. The thesis describes different kinds of infrastructure and explains the meaning of what each type of infrastructure represents in Slovenia. It also discusses the field of unsuitable development of different types of infrastructure based on target development, also known as infrastructure gap. It introduces different definitions and evaluations of the infrastructure gap, which were introduced by different international institutions, and also different methodological approaches for determining it. For Slovenia, the overview of investing in infrastructure is presented with the help of statistical data. Due to the limited financial resources the public sector has trouble providing funds for the sufficient investment in infrastructure. The adequate sorting of infrastructure projects, based on understanding of the current situation, is listed as one of the possible solutions. The thesis also includes the overview of Slovene documentation in the field of defining strategies, operational plans for infrastructure project and assessment of their readiness, which is the best approximation to the identification of the infrastructure gap in Slovenia. I concluded my work with a quick assessment of Slovenia based on the strategic infrastructure planner framework, which is introduced by The World Economic Forum. Areas of infrastructure and support system, which are being recognized in the assessment, achieve the standards of comparable countries and regions to a large extent whereas Slovenia still deviates considerably from them

Attitudes of the spatial planning profession towards public participation in spatial planning at local level
This master's thesis focuses on public participation and attitude, regarding spatial planning processes at local level. Furthermore, it deals with a hypothesis based on the authoritarian attitude of the spatial planners towards the public; having regard to the direct and indirect impacts of different stakeholders and factors in the area. The thesis comprises a theoretical component and a research component. The methodological approach is aligned with the main research groups: the spatial planning profession and the public. Participants in the qualitative study, namely spatial professionals, who in their work have to deal with public participation, critically evaluate their work and present examples of good and bad practices of integrating the public, and subsequently provide suggestions for establishing active and inclusive spatial planning processes. The quantitative study was conducted between two different target groups: the general public and the interested public. The results of the survey, conducted among the general public, presented the expected results on the overall lack of interest to participate in the spatial planning processes, while the results of the survey, conducted among the interested public, presented a relatively high public confidence in spatial planners
Cost and time analysis of the construction of agricultural barn
Building construction is a process that includes several interrelated activities. The basic goals of the construction company are to complete a project at the lowest cost and in the shortest possible time. Therefore it is important to prepare and predict all the costs and labor time, and execute controls and actions during construction. This graduation thesis describes the construction of a barn in detail and all the contract documents. It analyzes the deviation of cost and time in building a barn, on basis of a comparison between the contract pre-assessment of costs and the actual cost to the contractor, and comparison between the contract schedule and the actual progress of the work. The tables in the graduation thesis present detailed cost deviations. A description of the reasons for the delays and cost deviations is also included in the graduation thesis
Optimization of observations in geodetic surveying
In master's thesis we discuss methods of optimization of geodetic networks. Optimization of geodetic networks allow us in advance determination of optimal geodetic datum, optimal positions of points in geodetic network, optimal weights of observations and optimal improvement of weak parts of network. The focus in this thesis is on second order design of optimization where optimal precision of geodetic observations is optimised according to a desired accurracy of points coordinates in geodetic network. For the automatization of the second order design, we made a computer program for second order design of geodetic network. Program allows importing data of geodetic network and criteria, which the program takes into account in the process of optimization. Program iteratively removes observations, which do not contribute significantly to the accuracy or reliability of geodetic network, until no observations can be removed, without breaking the criteria, which has been set at the beginning of the optimization. Using the assembled program, we solved few geodetic network optimization examples with different criteria to show the applicability of the computer program and methods of optimization for optimal geodetic network design
Analysis and Comparison of Navigation Programs and Devices
Today, we cannot imagine route planning along known and unknown roads, without the use of navigation devices, which have become almost mandatory car equipment. They are available as individual navigation devices, integrated into a car; but lately, navigation programs on modern mobile phones with built-in GPS receivers are becoming widely used. In this way, road navigation represents one of the most common uses of global navigation satellite systems. \ud

Offers of navigation devices and programs on the markets are very wide. In this diploma thesis, we were dealing with two individual navigation devices and two programs loaded on the navigation device and a mobile phone, respectfully. We analyzed and described individual devices and described them. Then we tested their functioning on a test drive and tried to determine whether there are any differences between the individual devices and programs. We have also analyzed the responses of the individual devices and programs; display of the route and information during the drive and monitored the delivery of the drive instructions. It might happen while driving, that we accidentally choose the wrong exit; our route many times leads us through the tunnels. This is why we studied the responses to wrongly selected roads and what happens when we lose the signal. We discovered significant differences between individual navigation devices and programs
High-performance façade design in the case of an existing business skyscraper
Office buildings are a major part of the non-residential buildings stock. In the modern society, high multi-storey buildings – skyscrapers – are a common sight in urban areas. The combination of the skyscraper’s building shape and the office building type gives us an interesting case, which is special from the perspective of the building’s energy efficiency, quality of the indoor environment and the status symbol – often manifested in the façade’s visual appearance – which the building represents. In the thesis I analyse the heating and cooling demand of an existing business skyscraper, based on different energy-efficient design measures on the building’s façade. For the calculation of the building’s energy performance I used the simulation program EnergyPlus. As it turned out, there is a huge potential in reducing the building’s heating demand with the energy efficient design of the façade. The reduction of the building’s cooling demand is on the other hand not so drastical. As shown in the results of the analysis, there is a great risk of increasing the building’s cooling demand with the inappropriate façade design strategy. Based on the analysis results of different energy-efficient design measures on the building’s façade, I chose the most optimal combination of measures from the perspective of the building’s energy performance. On this model I added a heat recovery ventilation system (which decreased the heating demand even more) and compared the results with the model based on the existing building and the Slovenian energy performance codes (PURES). Compared to the model based on the existing building, the final model decreased the annual cooling demand for 1 %, and the annual heating demand for 65 %. Despite the huge decrease in the building’s heating demand, the final model, with all the energy-efficiency measures, still consumes 49 % too much heating energy, according to the PURES building performance codes
Monitoring the stability of a retaining wall
The thesis deals with a practical example of monitoring the stability of a retaining wall. The wall\ud
is expected to incline and sink after the construction is finished. The following thesis includes\ud
measurements and data processing of three geodetic terms. The main goal was to determine\ud
whether the displacements on the retaining wall occurred and if so to define their sizes. Using\ud
the classical terrestrial method of three geodetic terms with instruments Leica Nova MS50 and\ud
Leica TCRA 1105 plus we also analysed the suitability of less precise instruments for such\ud
tasks. The sinking of the retaining wall was determined also with levelling terms. In addition to\ud
the results obtained (determination and analysis of displacements of the control points and the\ud
benchmarks on the retaining wall) the thesis presents a number of factors that affect the course\ud
and the quality of fieldwork geodetic measurements
Protection of construction pit for car-park building in Ljubljana
The subject of this thesis is the execution construction pit for multi-storey car-park building in\ud
Ljubljana. The supporting structure was made with high pressure grouting (e.q jet grouting),\ud
and anchored with temporary ground anchors in one or two levels. An overview of jet\ud
grouting and temporary ground anchors procedures accoding to current standards is shown.\ud
A special attention is put on the currently valid execution of works in our country. We\ud
primarily examined the problems occurring due to the deviation from technical regulations or\ud
inability to stick to them, which may be the consequence of either old equipment or sticking\ud
to generally accepted procedures of the execution, as well as requirements for a cheaper\ud
execution.\ud
The thesis presents the description of experiences gained during the execution works, the\ud
results of control examinations, the problems that occurred during the execution and\ud
appropriate solutions. In the phase of the jet-grouting-piles execution, which were used as a\ud
supporting structure, the attention was on the technology of the single fluid system and its\ud
effectiveness in the ground, while with ground anchors the most attention was paid to ground\ud
anchor installation and.\ud
The problems occurring on the construction site are often result of an incomplete project\ud
documentation, often involving the old and incomplete documentation of neighbouring\ud
