    Get PDF
Care for the maintenance of apartment buildings represents a significant part of the housing management. Unlike detached houses, where the decision on the renovation is usually tied to a single owner in apartment buildings the decision-making is the responsibility of all the apartment owners. The first part of the thesis is focused on on the presentation of legislation in the field of housing management and rules that need to be respected by apartment owners in order that the building serves its purpose. In the second part of the thesis, housing fund in the City\ud municipality of Ljubljana is presented, together with the maintenance requirements for apartment buildings. The role of the housing manager and apartment owners in the process\ud of management and maintenance of the building is also described. In the third part of the thesis, an example of the apartment building energy renovation is shown. The provision of financial resources for energy renovation of the apartment building are described as well as the preparation of a maintenance plan for the building, the decision-making process of the apartment owners, the process of selecting the contractor of renovation and the role of housing manager in the process. The financial structure of the investment in energy renovation of the apartment building and analysis of the cost savings for residential heating are presented at the end of the thesis

Quality assessment of GNSS observations using various antennas

    Get PDF
In the diploma thesis we analysed the quality of GNSS observations when using various antennas. We tested an internal antenna, installed into a Javad Triumph-LS housing, an external antenna and the choke ring antenna, which is the least sensitive to the reflection of signals from objects. After the survey and quality assessment of GNSS observations in programs TEQC and Leica SPIDER QC we \ud confirmed the presupposed hypothesis that the choke ring antenna provides us best observations. In second part we checked whether the coverage of the metal barriers with white sheet or wooden panel reduces signal reflection from obstacles. We concluded that the signal mostly reflects by the metal. At the same time, we also tried to explore other factors affecting multipath size. Mostly, it is necessary to\ud pay attention to the elevation angles and geometry of the satellites. GNSS observations were performed with static method and postprocessed in program package Leica Geo Office, where we determined the positions of points A and B in two modes: virtual reference station (VRS) and permanent station. This way, the influence of distance to reference point on quality position was tested. We concluded that the deviations were of milimeter magnitude in horizontal and of centimeter magnitude in vertical direction

Test of the instrument JAVAD TRIUMPH-LS according to the standard ISO 17123-8

In the graduation thesis we present the results of the examination of the quality and operation of the instrument JAVAD TRIUMPH-LS in RTK survey. The test was done according to the instructions of standard ISO 17123-8 at two worksites in different weather conditions and with different ways of installing the instrument on the point. In the first case we have an instrument erected at the bar, but in the second case we use forced centering instrument placed on a pillar. With the test we confirmed the quality of the operation of the instrument JAVAD TRIUMPH-LS, as is provided by the manufacturer, although, it should be noted that in the second case, when we put instrument on the pillars, we get much better repeatability of the results of the determination of coordinates. After multiple test made according to standard ISO 17123-8, we can say, that the instrument JAVAD TRIUMPH-LS, even when we using internal antennas and when we exclude inclinoimeter, which take into account corrections resulting from the inclination, obtain the results as given by the manufacturers. The second part of the graduation thesis was about the reproducibility determination of the coordinates of one point, for the case, when we put the instrument closer to the ground. In this situation, we placed the foil around, which may constitute a source of multipath. In this case we did not find significant differences in determining the coordinates and may, based on the results conclude, that the antenna height does not affect the quality of the final determination of coordinates of points

    Get PDF
The main aim of this thesis is production of concrete mixtures at the Boštanj concrete plant and conformity control of the mixtures by applying criteria given in new standards for concrete mixtures, EN 206:2013 and EN 1026:2016. In the beginning of the thesis the concrete plant and its main components, which are needed for the plant operation, are described. Some essential characteristics of aggregate, cement and chemical admixtures\ud that appear in the concrete plant and influence the concrete structure are subject of subsequent chapters. Next, tests of fresh concrete properties carried out by the plant laboratory are described. In the practical part of the thesis results of ordinary and air entrained concrete mixtures are compared. The tested properties of the fresh mixtures are temperature, consistency by slump test, determination of water to cement ratio, air content and fresh concrete density. In hardened state only average compressive strength of concrete at the age of 28 days was determined. The obtained results were compared and analysed. In the last chapter novelties in the standards EN 206:2013 and EN 1026:2016 were summarized and their influence on the concrete plant operation was emphasized

In this thesis a comparison between various designs of embankments using soil-cement was made. In the first section history and usage history is described, based on a literature overview. Materials, properties and construction technologies are also desribed. In the second section seepage control is conducted using Feflow and GeoStudio Seep software. The analysis was made on an embankment with upstream soilcement protection and on an embankment with soil-cement central core. From the results of the analysis acomparison between addressed embankment is carried out

Data analysis of new cadastral survey and reconstruction of cadastral maps

    Get PDF
The main purpose of this graduation thesis was to analyse the data of the new cadastral surveying documentation, in the area of the cadastral municipality of Novo mesto, from the year 1987. Firstly, we introduced the procedure of the new cadastral survey and gave a short overview of legal regulations at that time. The main part of the thesis represents empiric part, in which we analysed and presented contents of the surveying documentation with the IDPOS 1456 – 4001 in detail. The data were obtained from the Surveying and Mapping Authority of the Republic of Slovenia. In the last part of the thesis, a part of the land cadastral map has been reconstructed in the selected study area. Furthermore, we compared reconstructed map with the current land cadastral index map and with the georeferenced land cadastral map from the year 1983

In Graduation Thesis I analyze the failure of 3 different dams. The dam failure was analyzed with the help of a simplified model for calculation of dam failure consequences. We calculated wave flood times, maximum depths of waves and maximum flow in certain calculation points. Results are shown graphically and analytically and compared to results of complete methods for calculation of St. Venant equations. There is also a written user manual of the SMPDBK model, which was used in analysis

Point cloud segmentation using Gaussian sphere

    Get PDF
Collecting spatial data using laser scanning is developing quickly. Point clouds, which are primary result of laser scanning, are useful for 3D modelling of scanned objects and Earth's surfaces. Because point clouds are useful in numerous fields and provide a large amount of data, there is a need to automatically extract certain features from point clouds. This thesis describes point cloud segmentation using Gaussian sphere. We used this method on actual terrestrial scanned test data. We described the process in steps from obtaining test data to final results\ud of segmentation. We focused on three geometrical objects, that are plane, cylinder and cone. We also described basic theory about the Hough transform, binarization and changing test data in discrete form, that were used in the process of segmentation. For processing the test data, we wrote a program in Python. With Python and its add-on libraries we plotted intermediate and final results, which we commented and evaluated. Final thoughts about the described segmentation method are given in conclusion

Comprehensive system of measures for public green urban areas planning and management in Slovenia

    Get PDF
Doctoral dissertation researches current Slovenian system of managing public green areas given to the growing importance of public green areas for quality of urban life and to the fact that new spatial management concepts expose the meaning of comprehensive and inclusive management to ensure social, ecological and economic benefits of urban green areas. Thesis objective is to conceptually expand the understanding of public green spaces management, to emphasize the importance of integration between the phases and aspects of management and to form proposals that are in keeping with today’s inhabitants needs and adapted to Slovenian settlements planning system. The thesis is based on the assumption that Slovenian public green spaces planning and management system is inadequate and must therefore be complemented by measures ensuring a more comprehensive and inclusive practice. The research examines current situation with an overview of previous researches and with three analytical contributions: the analysis of public green areas management highlights how comprehensive the system really is; the analysis of community residential green spaces planning indicates the need for cooperation among interested stakeholders; the analysis of allotment gardening shows the stakeholders’ ability to cooperate. In the research various qualitative methods, interviews, case studies and state analyses were used, connecting current system features and revealing that public green areas planning and management in Slovenia is systematically underestimated, professionally and organizationally entirely left to municipalities, that the phases and aspects of the management are poorly connected and cooperation between interested stakeholders is underdeveloped. The findings confirm the assumption of the Slovenian system inadequacy and support formulation of proposals of organisational nature and other soft measures that could reinforce the quality of planning and management, encourage comprehensive strategic approach and enforce cooperation of stakeholders in the development of good practice on different levels of urban policy. The thesis is a contribution to the development of comprehensive public green space planning and management, of spatial planning and management practice and establishes the importance of qualitative research of different conditions, phases and aspects of the planning and management for the development of practice and system solutions

Diffuse pollution of the hydrosphere with phosphorus and nitrogen originating from farming land in the Goričko Landscape Park

    Get PDF
The present doctoral research describes the impact of diffuse and point sources on the pollution of the\ud hydrosphere with nitrogen and phosphorus compounds in the Goričko Landscape Park research area. The Goričko Landscape Park research area was divided into three parts: the River Basin of the Ledava, Velika Krka rivers, and the Kobilje Creek. In this manner, we were able to perform a comparative analysis inside the Landscape Park and in three sub-areas. In the scope of the methodological research we established that the comparison of the structure of use of the land among these three areas revealed certain differences. In the scope of the research we performed the monitoring of the liquid hydrosphere and researched the chemical status of the surface flowing water in the Goričko \ud Landscape Park area. Within all three sub-areas significantly higher concentrations of nitrogen and \ud phosphorus compounds were found in the water. The presence of nitrogen and phosphorus compounds is the result of unregulated slurry pits in livestock farming facilities, an unregulated sewerage infrastructure and the loss of nitrogen and phosphorus compounds in the farming land. The forest is another significant source of nitrogen compounds. The calculated ratio Ntotal/Ptotal differs in different sampling points and ranges between 2 and 12. Using this method based on the balance approach we determined direct emissions from the livestock facilities into drains as the main source of nitrogen and phosphorus compounds. The results of the method for ecological characterization show the indirect impact of the terrain and slope on the hydrosphere. The average pollution burden (kg/ha) in one year was higher in the sub-area of the Kobilje Creek, where the share of farming land used for arable land and gardens was the highest.\u
