Peace journalism
Over the years, peace journalism has experienced growth in terms of its understanding and practice. Rooted in research based upon peacebuilding and conflict-resolution, the concept has been used to train journalists reporting from conflict areas around the globe to focus on the suffering of the many and to highlight areas of agreement between the various entities at arms against each other. The concept has also faced criticism for its normative approach and for placing the task of peacebuilding on journalists. Despite the progress achieved by the concept, in this entry we argue that peace journalism can strengthen its theoretical foundations and enhance its application by focusing on contextual elements, by incorporating learnings from conflict research, and by exploring opportunities offered by digitalization
Near-Circularity in Capacity and Maximally Convergent Polynomials
If f is a power series with radius R of convergence, R > 1, it is well-known that the method of Carathéodory–Fejér constructs polynomial approximations of f on the closed unit disk which show the typical phenomenon of near-circularity on the unit circle. Let E be compact and connected and let f be holomorphic on E. If is a sequence of polynomials converging maximally to f on E, it is shown that the modulus of the error functions f - pn is asymptotically constant in capacity on level lines of the Green’s function of the complement of E in with pole at infinity, thereby reflecting a type of near-circularity, but without gaining knowledge of the winding numbers of the error curves with respect to the point 0
A mindfulness- and relaxation-based nature intervention improves mood in depressed patients in psychosomatic rehabilitation : results from the GREENCARE non-randomized controlled clinical trial
Introduction
Guided contact with nature has positive effects on well-being. Little is known about the effectiveness of adding nature-based interventions to inpatient treatment for depression. Therefore, we evaluated a mindfulness- and relaxation-based nature intervention for depressed patients in psychosomatic rehabilitation treatment.
Method
Psychosomatic rehabilitation inpatients with depression were allocated to either a Greencare mindfulness- and relaxation-based nature intervention (n = 116) or to treatment as usual plus waitlist control group (TAU+WL) (n = 111) in two centres. All patients received questionnaires on admission (T1) and discharge (T2). Greencare patients received follow-up questionnaires three months after the intervention (T3). Main outcome was mood, assessed by the Positive and Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS). Secondary outcomes were depression, mindfulness, state self-compassion, and contact with nature. Data were analysed as intent-to-treat using mixed models for repeated measures, adjusted for propensity score and centre. Patients’ ratings of the effectiveness of the sessions and their well-being, and situational aspects of each session, were recorded.
Results
We found significant interactions of time*group for PANAS, showing greater positive affect (Cohen’s d at T2 = 0.48) and lower negative affect (Cohen’s d at T2 = 0.52) in the Greencare group compared to the TAU+WL group at T2. At follow-up (T3), the effects in the Greencare group decreased, but remained significant compared to T1. Significant results for self-compassion and non-significant effects for depression and mindfulness were found. The groups did not differ in the amount of contact with nature. Sensitivity analyses revealed more favourable follow-up effects for patients with higher levels of depression. Patients reported high ratings of effectiveness and well-being for each session, and these ratings were not related to the weather conditions. No adverse events were reported.
Discussion
Depressed inpatients benefitted from a Greencare mindfulness- and relaxation-based nature intervention by improving positive and negative affect. The effects were slightly reduced after three months, but less in patients with higher levels of depression on admission. Results show that the intervention is feasible and effective even for patients with higher symptom burden.

Brief psychiatric and psychological psychotherapy PKP for anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorders
Psychiatric and psychological brief psychotherapy PKP for anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorders guides you safely through the specific therapeutic measures of evidence-based behavioural therapy. The therapy cards make it possible to go through the individual therapy steps directly with the patient, so that exactly what works takes place. There is a set of cards for all major anxiety disorders - on the front, what to do and on the back, what to bear in mind. Patients really enjoy working with the cards and therapists feel confident in using them. Even if the ring binder is used instead of the cards (with what to do at the top and what is important at the bottom), working with PKP works very well. It starts with a plausible disorder model for the patient, continues with self-observation, preparation of the intervention, its implementation and effectiveness testin

Responsible CSR and ESG Management Competencies : Higher Education Alternative Credentials in the DACH-Region
Definite null instantiation in English(es) : A Usage-based Construction Grammar approach
This study examines the theoretical status as well as the quantitative distribution of subjects with Definite Null Instantiation (DNI) readings in Standard British English, Hong Kong English, and Singapore English from the perspective of Usage-based Construction Grammar. Following an extensive review of previous theoretical treatments, I propose an alternative formalization of DNI as a both schematic and semantically rich construction. Based on spoken data from the International Corpus of English, random forests and logistic regression models were then fitted to complement the theoretical model of DNI with distributional data, taking into account both intra- and extra-linguistic predictors. The models reveal significant differences between L1- and L2-usage; the extent of these constructional reconfigurations is best explained by a combination of substrate influence and the socio-cognitive stability of the L2-varieties
Automated versus Human Agents : A Meta-Analysis of Customer Responses to Robots, Chatbots, and Algorithms and Their Contingencies
This meta-analysis examines when three types of automated agents (AAs)—robots, chatbots, and algorithms—are equivalent to human agents (HAs) in marketing roles. Analyzing 943 effect sizes from 327 studies provides novel insights. First, customers may be skeptical of AAs; however, they value their performance and eventually choose or buy from them as if they were interacting with HAs. Second, each of the three AA types has a unique set of contingencies that affect its human equivalence; previously identified contingencies do not generalize and can even have opposing effects across AA types. This study also identifies novel contingencies, such as the multifaceted concept of artificial intelligence required to fulfill a task. Third, some contingencies make AAs more humanlike, while others make their machine characteristics salient. These findings enrich the concept of automated social presence (ASP), suggesting that AAs are hybrid beings with a social presence (i.e., the feeling of interacting with a humanlike entity) and an automated presence (i.e., the feeling of interacting with a machine entity). The authors provide recommendations on when AAs can replace HAs in marketing roles to release capacity and alleviate labor shortages. They also suggest a future research agenda
