Human security and cross-border cooperation
Get PDFCross-border cooperation (CBC) is a unique and effective instrument of the European Union that has the potential to influence human security positively. This paper analyses the role of CBC between Bulgaria and Greece in the context of human security. The analysis is focused on the Right to Life, and especially, on the right to health and social welfare. The comparative analysis represents CBC results and benefits from two programming periods: 2007-2013 and 2014-2020. The expected outcomes of cross-border projects (by 2023) are also being explored, outlining the main trends and prospects for developing the cross-border partnership

Get PDFABSTRACT: This article discusses the emergence and development of fantastic painting and the influence of surrealism on the design of fashion illustration at the beginning of the twentieth century. The different trends in fine arts and their projection on the design of fashion drawing at the beginning of the twentieth century are analyzed. A variety of examples of well-known authors in the women's periodic press have been commented on.
РЕЗЮМЕ: Настоящата статия разглежда възникването и развитието на сюрреализма и въздействието на стила върху дизайна на модната илюстрация в началото на двадесети век. Developing Intercultural Communicative Competence – The Two Sides of the Coin
Get PDFEffective intercultural communicative competence goes beyond a good command of the foreign language and an insight into the foreign culture. What real-life intercultural communication often calls for is an ability to present one's own cultural identity in the foreign tongue. Are our learners empowered to face this challenge and how can the foreign language teacher cater for this need? The aim of this paper, which was developed on the basis of the author's presentation at the 4th conference of the Educational Role of Language network "From theory to practice, from practice to theory", is to outline the contemporary understanding of the essence of intercultural communicative competence underpinning the need for language teachers to devote equal attention to both the target and the local culture and language in order to prepare competent language users who can function as efficient mediators in the process of intercultural communication. In an answer to some of the deficiencies identified in educational practice, some practical ideas are also shared on how to exploit the rich affordance of language classes to enhance both the language command and the intercultural communicative competence of the learners
Digitalization of Bulgarian Cultural Heritage
No full textThe research of historical heritage is related to creation, storage and distribution of visual information about them. With the development of digital technologies, the three-dimensional scanning and visual regeneration of buildings of cultural heritage combined with 3D virtual reconstruction is becoming increasingly important tool for understanding and reconstructing the past. Instead of expensive laser scanning, cheaper photogrammetric methods for creating and processing of spatial (3D) images of historical and architectural monuments are finding a growing application. The article analyses the opportunities for use of different ICT tools, including inexpensive digital imaging options for preservation and exhibiting of large and diverse Bulgarian cultural heritage
