Renewable route to bioplasticizers: kinetic insights into epoxidation of sunflower oil with in situ generated peroxyacetic acid

    No full text
Owing to its high amount of double bonds in fatty acid content, sunflower oil is a potential renewable feedstock for bioplasticizer applications. Although the epoxidation of vegetable oils has been extensively investigated, sunflower oil epoxidation utilizing peroxyacetic acid generated in situ, in terms of kinetics studies, is still limited, particularly in determining the reaction kinetics and indispensable factors for epoxidation using peroxyacetic acid. This study specifically investigated the kinetics of sunflower oil epoxidation using in situproduced peroxyacetic acid in an acid catalyst of sulfuric acid. This work explored how variations in reaction time, temperature, and the molar ratio of unsaturated bonds to hydrogen peroxide impact the epoxidation reaction. In addition, this work developed a kinetic model and quantified key parameters of the reaction rate constant and activation energy. Findings indicated that reaction time, temperature, and reactant molar ratio strongly affected the iodine and oxirane conversion. While elevated extended reaction times and temperatures enhance oxirane conversion at the outset, moderate conditions promote side reactions that diminish the efficiency of the epoxidation process. The optimum epoxidation conditions were identified as a reaction time of 4 hours, a temperature of 60 °C, and an unsaturated bond-to-hydrogen peroxide molar ratio of 1:2.0, which yielded the maximum oxirane content. With a reaction rate constant of 8.1–16.8 × 10⁻⁶ L/mol·s and an activation energy of 22.0 kJ/mol, the study provides key guidance for improving sunflower oil epoxidation toward sustainable bioplasticizer applications

Maternal Parenting Style and Depression in Adolescents with Divorced Parents: The Mediating Roles of Cognitive Triad and Emotion Regulation Difficulties

    No full text
Parental divorce is one of the factors that influences depression in adolescents. It is necessary to examine the mechanisms that cause depression in adolescents from divorced families. Several studies have examined the impact of negative parenting on adolescent depression through cognitive factors and emotional regulation. However, none have investigated both factors simultaneously. This study addressed this research gap by examining the influence of maternal rejection and maternal psychological control on depression in adolescents from divorced family through the cognitive triad and emotional regulation difficulties. Respondents in this study were 227 adolescents, both boys and girls, aged 12-19 years, who had experienced their parents' divorce, and lived with their mothers. Respondents completed the Children’s Depression Inventory, Psychological Control Scale-Youth Self Report, Children- Parenting Acceptance-Rejection Questionnaire, Cognitive Triad Inventory-Children, and Difficulties Emotion Regulation Scale. Multivariate path analysis was used to examine the relationships between the study variables. The structural model demonstrated an adequate fit, χ²(df=2)=5.298, p=0.071, CFI=0.994, TLI=0.968, RMSEA=0.084 (90% CI [0.00, 0.18]), and SRMR=0.041. Maternal rejection was found to influence depression primarily indirectly through the cognitive triad (β_ind=0.215, 95%CI [0.15, 0.28]), whereas maternal psychological control was indirectly associated with depression via emotion regulation difficulties (β_ind=0.08, 95%CI [0.04, 0.12]). The model accounted for 60.5% of the variance in depression. These findings underscore the importance of cognitive-based interventions in the context of maternal rejection and emotion regulation training in the context of maternal psychological control. The findings of this study can help develop intervention programs for adolescents and parents in the context of divorced families and various related parties. This study offers findings that can be implemented in future studies

Mediasi Risk Perception, Investment Intention dan Fear of Missing Out: Behavioral Perspective

    No full text
This study is driven by the increasing interest of Indonesians in investing, supported by the accessibility of digital platforms and the growing awareness of the importance of financial management. However, amid this positive trend, investment decisions are often influenced by behavioral biases such as overconfidence bias, loss aversion bias, and herding bias, which can distort investor’s rationality. Moreover, the phenomenon of Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) emerges as a psychological factor that encourages individuals to follow market trends without careful consideration. This research analyzes the mediating roles of risk perception, investment intention, and FOMO on the influence of behavioral biases on investment decisions, using SEM method through JASP and involving 208 respondents selected through purposive sampling. The results show that FOMO does not mediate the influence of behavioral biases on investment decisions, whereas investment intention is proven to mediate the relationship between behavioral biases and investment decisions. In addition, risk perception is found to mediate the effect of overconfidence bias but does not mediate the effect of herding bias on investment decisions. These findings emphasize the essential role of psychological factors in shaping investment behavior, underscoring the importance of understanding behavioral biases to enable investors to make more rational and objective decisions

The omnichannel effects on fast food service quality and customer experience

    No full text
Digital transformation has reshaped the fast-food industry, where omnichannel strategies integrate online and offline touchpoints to enhance customer experiences. This study examines the impact of omnichannel implementation on service quality, perceived value, and customer satisfaction within Indonesia’s fast-food sector. Using a quantitative design and data from 305 valid respondents, analysed using PLS-SEM (SmartPLS 4.0), the results showed that omnichannel integration significantly improves service quality and perceived value; consequently, customer satisfaction increases. However, the direct effect of omnichannel on satisfaction is insignificant, indicating that the relationship is entirely mediated by service quality and perceived value. These findings confirm the Service-Dominant Logic framework, suggesting that seamless cross-channel experiences co-create value and strengthen customer trust. This study enriches the digital service marketing literature by clarifying how omnichannel performance influences consumer perceptions and by offering managerial insights to enhance cross-platform service consistency

Integration of Nudging-Based Kansei Engineering and Human-Centered Design: A Conceptual Framework in Healthcare Service

    No full text
This study presents a conceptual framework for the modification of Kansei Engineering (KE), incorporating nudging-enabled features with human-centered design (represented by Design Thinking (DT) methodology) applied in healthcare. Prior studies have integrated KE with other methods (such as Kano model, Theory of Inventive Problem Solving/TRIZ, and Quality Function Deployment/QFD) but have not combined KE with Nudge Theory (NT) yet. This research framework addresses this gap by explicitly targeting patient behavioral outcomes in non-critical care. KE focuses on translating customer emotional needs (Kansei) into design parameters, whereas NT stresses changing customer behavior through positive reinforcements. Once Kansei is obtained, it is hoped that positive behavior will follow. Hence, a novel integrated framework combining KE, NT, and DT will develop emotionally and behaviorally supportive strategies for non-critical patient care. In addition, it may enhance patient recovery through emotional support, build loyalty through engagement, and contribute to sustainable healthcare practices by promoting more user-centered service design
