    No full text
Digital marketing is an essential strategy for microenterprises to expand market share and increase sales. To support micro enterprises in Segoro Tambak Village, Sedati Subdistrict, Sidoarjo Regency, a community engagement program was implemented through the national grant. The program involved preliminary observations, digital marketing workshops, interviews, hands-on training, mentoring, and follow-up activities. As part of the intervention, Instagram and TikTok accounts were created for 20 micro enterprises, enabling them to showcase their products and reach broader audiences. Pre- and post-program assessments indicated significant improvements: over 73% of participants reported increased confidence in using social media, while 75% successfully uploaded promotional content independently after mentoring. Two key outcomes emerged from the engagement: (1) the establishment of social media accounts for both the village group and individual micro firms, and (2) enhanced knowledge and digital literacy among participants, particularly those previously unfamiliar with smartphone-based marketing. These results demonstrate how structured community-based interventions can effectively bridge the digital divide, empower local entrepreneurs, and increase product visibility and sales. Beyond immediate benefits, this initiative contributes to the long-term sustainability and competitiveness of micro enterprises in adapting to the rapidly evolving digital economy

Homophily in Southeast Asian University collaborations: evaluating internationalization and collaboration through bibliometric collaboration data

    No full text
This study investigates the influence of homophily rooted in institutional rankings on the structure and dynamics of international research collaboration networks among Southeast Asian universities and examines its implications for regional academic stratifi- cation and inequality. Utilizing bibliometric data from 175 universities certified by the ASEAN University Network, we employed social network analysis (SNA) to map collabor- ation patterns using centrality metrics (eigenvector, betweenness, closeness, and degree) and clique analysis. Our findings reveal a pronounced ‘rich-get-richer’ dynamic, in which top-ranked institutions, predominantly from Malaysia and Singapore, dominate collaboration networks, controlling 75.69% of the connections. Elite universities, such as Universiti Malaya (eigenvector centrality: 0.989) and the National University of Singapore (degree centrality: 0.224), function as structural brokers, reinforcing exclusivity and mar- ginalizing lower-ranked institutions. Conversely, despite their numerical predominance, Indonesian universities exhibit a fragmented influence, whereas those in Cambodia, Laos, and Myanmar remain peripheral with near-zero centrality metrics. Clique analysis further underscores regional fragmentation, with large collaborative clusters (21) dominated by Indonesian institutions, reflecting inward-oriented networks. This study identifies a stark core-periphery divide exacerbated by preferential attachment mecha- nisms and resource disparities that perpetuate academic inequality. These findings chal- lenge the presumed egalitarian benefits of internationalization, highlighting how institutional ranking homophily entrenches stratification

Intra-amniotic infection (IAI), also known as chorioamnionitis, is a major cause of maternal and neonatal infection that occurs during pregnancy, labor and delivery, or in the postpartum period. Conditions such as meconium-stained amniotic fluid (MSAF) and premature rupture of membranes (PROMs) are recognized risk factors for amniotic fluid infection. This study identifies the microbial patterns in the amniotic fluid of women with PROMs and MSAF to determine the presence and types of bacterial growth. It also identifies trends in antibiotic use through descriptive statistics. Conducted as a descriptive observational study with prospective data collection, this research included maternal patients with PROMs lasting more than 12 h and those with MSAF, along with their infants. Of 30 cultured amniotic fluid samples, bacterial growth was observed in 13 cases, with Escherichia coli being the most prevalent (40%). Infants born with PROMs accompanied by MSAF were 5.5 days, significantly longer than those born with PROMs alone (3.19 days) or MSAF alone (3.91 days), with a significant difference between groups (p = 0.003). In addition, Escherichia coli isolates in this study are resistant to ceftriaxone, a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. Understanding these microbial patterns is critical for guiding clinical decisions, particularly in managing the risk of infection in pregnant women with PROMs and MSAF and ensuring better outcomes for both mothers and newborns

Designing digital apps for businesses, including retail companies, is crucial in the digitalization era. To enhance the customers’ shopping experience, an AI-based digital app for supermarkets has been designed to facilitate customers’ searching for and purchasing goods. AI-based digital apps with a good user interface and user experience design will be very effective because they can enhance the app’s visual appeal. After developing the digital app based on the user’s needs and preferences, usability testing was conducted to assess whether it could overcome the problem and enhance the shopping experience. This study aims to determine the usability of digital apps using mixed methods through qualitative and quantitative methods. The usability testing was conducted quantitatively through Maze software (for seven tasks) and a questionnaire using Nielsen’s aspects, including learnability, efficiency, memorability, accuracy, and satisfaction. The results of the Maze score indicated an 80% success rate and a usability score of 59%. This result refers to a medium usability score, indicating the need for future improvements. The results from the usability testing using the questionnaire showed high scores on learnability (85%), efficiency (80%), and memorability (83%), as well as medium scores on accuracy (60%) and satisfaction (50%). The average score from questionnaires is 72%. Both results implied medium usability scores. After quantitative testing, qualitative data regarding users’ experiences, problems, and expectations using the digital app were collected through interviews and observations. The results of the quantitative and qualitative analysis show that the digital shopping app should improve its layout, ease of use, features like a favorites section, and product descriptions. The findings of this study offer fresh insight into integrating quantitative and qualitative methods. In contrast, quantitative and qualitative testing results can be combined to provide a comprehensive analysis that will help the apps improve. In addition, qualitative data regarding users’ experience, problems and expectations in using the digital application was also collected for completing the quantitative data. Based on the usability measurement, it was found that the supermarket digital application has already met all the usability aspects, from qualitative and qualitative data

    Get PDF
Aims This study aims to explore whether conventional and emerging biomarkers could improve risk discrimination and calibration in the secondary prevention of recurrent atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD), based on a model using predictors from SMART2 (Secondary Manifestations of ARTerial Disease). Methods and results In a cohort of 20 658 UK Biobank participants with medical history of ASCVD, we analysed any improvement in C indices and net reclassification index (NRI) for future ASCVD events, following addition of lipoprotein A (LP-a), apolipoprotein B, Cystatin C, Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c), gamma-glutamyl transferase (GGT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), alanine aminotransferase, and alkaline phosphatase (ALP), to a model with predictors used in SMART2 for the outcome of recurrent major cardiovascular event. We also examined any improvement in C indices and NRIs replacing creatinine-based estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) with Cystatin C–based estimates. Calibration plots between different models were also compared. Compared with the baseline model (C index = 0.663), modest increments in C indices were observed when adding HbA1c (ΔC = 0.0064, P < 0.001), Cystatin C (ΔC = 0.0037, P < 0.001), GGT (ΔC = 0.0023, P < 0.001), AST (ΔC = 0.0007, P < 0.005) or ALP (ΔC = 0.0010, P < 0.001) or replacing eGFRCr with eGFRCysC (ΔC = 0.0036, P < 0.001) or eGFRCr-CysC (ΔC = 0.00336, P < 0.001). Similarly, the strongest improvements in NRI were observed with the addition of HbA1c (NRI = 0.014) or Cystatin C (NRI = 0.006) or replacing eGFRCr with eGFRCr-CysC (NRI = 0.001) or eGFRCysC (NRI = 0.002). There was no evidence that adding biomarkers modified calibration. Conclusion Adding several biomarkers, most notably Cystatin C and HbA1c, but not LP-a, in a model using SMART2 predictors modestly improved discrimination
