Compilazione in ambiente QGIS delle schede per la gestione degli inquadramenti topografici: il popolamento della banca dati SITAR
The Archaeological Territorial Information System of Rome (SITAR) is a project of public and shared archaeology aimed at gathering all information on its archaeological assets. Data input into the database is operated by simple rules and minimum standards, which everyone working within the Roman archaeological territory should apply in order to normalise data description. QSITAR is a project developed within the QGIS framework. It aims at making the data entry user-friendly and standardized to allow the dataset to comply with SITAR guidelines
Una proposta di standard per l’archiviazione e la condivisione di dati stratigrafici
Archaeological stratigraphy-datasets are widely represented and visualised by the Harris Matrix. However, even digital Harris matrices retain most of the limitations their paper originals experienced and they are still in need of a standardised format for automatic recording. This paper presents an example, based on the well-known CSV open format, with a Data Package descriptor. The Harris Matrix Data Package standard is the result of two independent software implementations, one in Common Lisp by T.S. Dye and one in Python. The proposed format is not limited to describing the stratigraphy for the sole purpose of generating a diagram to look at, but it can be used to model stratigraphy as a Directed Acyclic Graph and to guide the interpretative process and integrate the results with established procedures for Bayesian modelling
L’Open Source per i Musei: il tour virtuale del Museo delle Origini (Sapienza Università di Roma)
The project involves the setting up of a virtual tour for the Museum of the Origins, namely the Museum of Prehistory and Protohistory at the Sapienza University of Rome Museum Pole. The virtual tour has been developed through open source technologies: a low-cost approach was pursued to provide a work-flow example for other museum sites wishing to acquire this promotion tool. The final product was designed both for museum use (in-site) and for a web spread (web-site)
Streptococcus Bovis Endocarditis Post Colonic Polypectomy
We describe a case of Streptococcus lutetiensis infective endocarditis occurring in a patient following colonic polypectomy. The patient had multiple risk factors for infective endocarditis including pre-existing mitral valve prolapse and regurgitation.
Transoesophageal echocardiography revealed a friable mass on the posterior mitral valve leaflet, confirming the diagnosis. The patient was treated with intravenous antibiotics, successfully underwent mitral valve surgery and was discharged home for outpatient follow-up.
This report details an uncommon case presentation, highlights areas for improvement in clinical practice, and summarises the current knowledge available in the literature regarding Streptococcus bovis infective endocarditis
Lenalidomide: An Alternative Treatment for Refractory Behçet’s Disease and Relapsing Polychondritis
Introduction:Behçet’s disease (BD) is a chronic systemic condition characterized by recurrent oral and genital ulcers, neurological and vascular manifestations, ocular and skin lesions, and a positive pathergy test. Mouth and genital ulcers with inflamed cartilage (MAGIC) syndrome is rare and consists of features of BD together with relapsing polychondritis. The treatment of this syndrome is similar that of BD and depends on disease expression and symptoms.
Case Report: We report the case of a 50-year-old man diagnosed with BD with relapsing polychondritis (MAGIC syndrome) which had evolved over approximately 35 years, with exuberant and frequent oral and genital ulcers. Various treatments were unsuccessful and had adverse effects. Lenalidomide was initiated at a dose of 5 mg per day with remission of oral and genital ulcers and no haematological or adverse effects.
Conclusion: BD is a complex disorder with a variety of presentations. Its treatment can be challenging but sometimes off-label drugs, like lenalidomide, can be effective
A Rare Case of Adult Acute Disseminated Encephalomyelitis Associated with Primary Epstein-Barr Virus Infection
We report a rare case of acute disseminated encephalomyelitis (ADEM) secondary to a primary Epstein-Barr (EBV) infection, in a 22-year-old male. Symptomatic infectious mononucleosis and ADEM are both quite uncommon conditions in this age group
Green is the colour. Standards, equipment and public spaces as paradigm for the Italian sustainable city
The speed of the urban systems is related with a series
of social, economic, and environmental transformations
bringing often to a critic state that needs the redefinition
of urban elements and relationships, in order to guarantee
quality and safety to the inhabitants’ lives. Related to the
new spatial conditions of planning is the topic of urban
equipment that is an open matter in the urban politics.
Their relevance for Italian cities made them a symbol
of democratization and quality of the cities, due to the
obligatory of minimum quantities of spaces for public
services. The 50 years from the issue of DM 1444 allows
to express a series of evaluations on the role of the public
equipment in the processes of urban transformation
and governance. Starting from this analysis, the paper
proposes adequate and updated solutions in terms of
evolution of the standards categories and their quantitative
and qualitative characteristics, deepening the role of the
urban facilities as potential sources of innovation.
The first part of the paper highlights some elements related
to the long period of application of the law, and the results
of this application in terms of increase and quality in the
urban equipment of the city. The second part explores the
motivations behind the need for a comprehensive updating
of the subject, referring to concepts such as sustainability,
and quality of urban systems. In the third part, starting
from new requirements, new needs, new risks affecting
urban systems, as well as from critical points of the Italian
law structure, the paper proposes new categories of urban
planning standards and the related functional requirements
they must to satisfy
