    Dal Boccaccio napoletano a Pasolini

Pasolini's Decameron (1970) is not only a masterpiece in history of cinema, but also an important document of reading and interpreting Boccaccio's work in contemporary culture, and it is important to study the metamorphosis of the text through all passages, from Boccaccio to 'Trattamento' and 'Sceneggiatura'. On of the main changes is surely the 'translation' of Decameron from the original context (Florence and Tuscany) to a Mediterranean one, Naples and Southern Italy (and, in a lost episode, the story of Alibech, also the Middle East, the desert of Yemen and the fantastic architecture of Sana'a)

The discussion about the phylogenetic relation between human and other animals – and between their abilities, both cognitive and communicative ones – traces back to ancient times. In this discussion, language has been one of the main topics for a long time. During the XX century – probably because of the great influence of structuralism and generativism – Linguistics paid little attention to the comparison between human language and animal language, though in recent years a new trend is to be sought. Two linguists – Noam Chomsky and James Hurford – seem to exemplify the evolution of the discussion: both human and non-human abilities turn out to be the focus of an interdisciplinary and comparative approach that might lead up to a deeper comprehension of the language faculty

The construction of the nation and the birth of the geographical societies in Italy The article traces the genesis of and the role played by the cultural institutions which pursued the diffusion of geographical studies during the Italian Risorgimento. This brief review also presents a bibliographical survey of the published works regarding the geographical societies from post-unification Italy to the present in the major disciplinary repertoires, with the purpose of presenting a complete historiographic account of the field. Most of the contributions dedicated to the theme have essentially thrown light on those features of the ''national Italian spirit'' that found expression in support of the explorations and colonial initiatives in Africa, thanks also to the work of the geographical societies. The paper, however, aims mainly to follow, in the early activities of the principal Italian geographical associations still in existence today, those aspects relating to the apology of Italian Unification and devoted to the construction of an Italian nation as ''one and indivisible''. At the same time it attempts to focus on the role of some key-figures who engaged in supporting the new ''identity'' of the nation through the circulation of cultural models proposed in the specialized reviews published by the geographical associations
