Background. Bright personality traits are defined as a prosocial personality characteristic that includes altruism, forgiveness, and gratitude. This study investigates the psychometric properties of the Bright Traits Scale. Methods. This descriptive study employed factor analysis, with the statistical population comprising all students at Zanjan University during the 2021-2022 academic year. The research sample was selected using random cluster sampling, consisting of 225 participants for exploratory factor analysis, 225 for confirmatory factor analysis, and 40 for retest reliability. The study utilized the Bright Personality Traits Scale (Gouveia et al., 2021) and the Dark Personality Traits Scale (Johnson & Webster, 2010). Initially, face validity was assessed through expert opinions, followed by reliability evaluation using Cronbach’s alpha and test-retest methods. Exploratory factor analysis was then conducted to discover the underlying structure, and confirmatory factor analysis was performed to assess model fit. Finally, discriminant validity was measured using Pearson’s correlation coefficient. Statistical analyses were carried out using SPSS 25 and AMOS 24. Results. After minor revisions to the scale items, the scale demonstrated favorable face validity. Cronbach's alpha and retest coefficients for all subscales exceeded 0.7, indicating acceptable reliability. Exploratory factor analysis identified three factors—altruism, forgiveness, and gratitude—which collectively explained 51.86% of the variance in scores. Confirmatory factor analysis confirmed a significant relationship between observed variables and latent constructs, indicating that the three-factor structure of the scale had a good fit within the sample (χ²/df = 2.42, GFI = 0.92, AGFI = 0.90, IFI = 0.93, TLI = 0.92, CFI = 0.93, RMSEA = 0.056). Discriminant validity indicated an inverse and relatively strong relationship between bright personality traits and dark personality traits (r = -0.66). Conclusion. The Bright Personality Traits Scale demonstrates satisfactory validity and reliability among students, making it a reliable tool for future research

Background. Much evidence indicates that familial aggregation plays an important role in determining and developing the control and prevention methods of diseases and high-risk behaviors. The present study aimed to estimate the prevalence of high-risk sexual behaviors and assess their familial aggregation among mother-offspring, father-offspring, between spouses, and among children. Methods. The current cross-sectional study involved 822 participants in Tabriz in 2022. The heads of households were regarded as probands and were selected using the convenience sampling method from the list of daily clients of the family medicine clinic at Asadabadi Hospital. Data was collected using two standard questionnaires: the behavioral risk factor tool and socioeconomic status, which were completed by the self-report method. The generalized estimating equations type 2 (GEE2) was employed to assess family aggregation. The significance level in all statistical tests was considered 0.05. Data was analyzed using STATA version 17 software. Results. The response rate was 95.47%. The prevalence of high-risk sexual behavior among the participants was reported to be 18.61%. There was statistically significant familial aggregation in risky sexual behavior between fathers and offspring (OR = 2.34, 95% CI: (1.4-4.45)). Furthermore, significant familial aggregation was found between mothers and offspring (OR = 1.88, 95% CI: (1.3-3.9)). Conclusion. The current study revealed a notable familial aggregation in risky sexual behavior, particularly between fathers and their offspring. Moreover, family members uniquely influence each other's participation in risky sexual behavior, irrespective of environmental or genetic factors

The advent of new and diverse generative artificial intelligence (Gen AI) tools, along with a new generation of search engines based on it, has created a form of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) for content creators, such as media outlets, who aim to be influential in this new AI-dominated environment. This chapter will present the foundations of these new positioning approaches, ranging from non-human writing to features that define the content of digital news media. In some cases, these approaches are more closely linked to becoming part of narratives rather than merely attracting traffic, as is the case with conventional SEO. Through the review of notable cases, with a focus on writing practices in Ibero-America and specific initiatives such as As Told to Buzzy (BuzzFeed), the chapter aims to provide operational usage trends for media professionals, as well as ideas for future research for academics and scholars of both SEO and media studies

Mozambique's science, technology and innovation system brings together government institutions, public and private higher education institutions, public and private research institutes, and the research funding fund. The organizational structure of Mozambique's science, technology and innovation system is constituted by the National Council of Science, Technology, which, in turn, is chaired by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education. This research aims to analyze how the institutions that make up the system share information and knowledge on institutional websites. The established methodological procedures focus on mapping the institutions that make up the system, which is therefore exploratory research. The mapping focused on identifying the actors in the science, technology, and innovation system in Mozambique, measuring the informational content on the websites of the institutions that make up the system, considering their information and knowledge sharing practices. The research results demonstrate that of the 91 institutions: government entities; public higher education institutions; private higher education institutions; public research institutes; research funding funds; Private and non-governmental research institutes, 75 have websites. Information and knowledge sharing practices demonstrate a variety of channels, means and forms used, with most of the information shared being generated within the institution itself. It is concluded that although institutions mention on their websites the means of sharing information and knowledge, some do not present data that can be recovered. It is considered that a large part of the system's institutions contributes to the act of sharing information and knowledge, aiming at the functioning of Mozambique's science, technology, and innovation system

The Custodian of Consequence: Reframing the Role of the Critic By Dorian Vale

The Custodian of Consequence: Reframing the Role of the Critic By Dorian Vale In this philosophical essay, Dorian Vale redefines the role of the critic—not as interpreter, judge, or analyst, but as custodian of consequence. Rooted in the doctrines of Post-Interpretive Criticism, the work challenges the traditional posture of critique as commentary and repositions it as a form of ethical stewardship. Vale explores how every act of writing about art either preserves or distorts the original encounter. Through sharp theoretical analysis and poetic argumentation, the essay exposes the critic’s unseen power to shape memory, public reception, and even the afterlife of a work. The true critic, Vale contends, is not the one who explains most eloquently—but the one who bears the most moral proximity to the wound. This piece is a foundational rearticulation of what it means to “respond” to art—offering not just a new lens, but an entirely new ethic. Vale, Dorian. Prompt engineering for bibliographic web-scraping

    Get PDF
Bibliographic catalogues store millions of data. The use of computer techniques such as web-scraping allows the extraction of data in an efficient and accurate manner. The recent emergence of ChatGPT is facilitating the development of suitable prompts that allow the configuration of scraping to identify and extract information from databases. The aim of this article is to define how to efficiently use prompts engineering to elaborate a suitable data entry model, able to generate in a single interaction with ChatGPT-4o, a fully functional web-scraper, programmed in PHP language, adapted to the case of bibliographic catalogues. As a demonstration example, the bibliographic catalogue of the National Library of Spain with a dataset of thousands of records is used. The findings present an effective model for developing web-scraping programs, assisted with AI and with the minimum possible interaction. The results obtained with the model indicate that the use of prompts with large language models (LLM) can improve the quality of scraping by understanding specific contexts and patterns, adapting to different formats and styles of presentation of bibliographic information

The development of geographic collections (maps, geospatial data, aerial photographs, etc.) within library environment requires a targeted and multifaceted approach that combines technical expertise, organizational strategy, and institutional support. This study proposes a methodological framework designed to enable the systematic management and utilization of geographic collections within the context of academic libraries. The proposed framework is flexible and can be applied across all types of libraries, regardless of size, mission, or disciplinary orientation. The approach under discussion is relevant both for libraries in which the geographic collection constitutes a component of broader holdings (special collections) and for libraries with exclusively geographic content. The proposed strategy is structured around three fundamental pillars: collaboration among relevant stakeholders, the professional development of staff in geoinformatics and metadata, and the establishment of clear collection and dissemination policies for geographic data. Through this methodology, emphasis is placed on the importance of collaborative planning, the application of metadata standards and related tools developed and employed by the international community of map/GIS librarians, as well as on the investment in human resources with expertise in geographic information. The aim of this study is to highlight the benefits of such a strategic approach in enhancing access to geographic collections, promoting interoperability among them, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of geocollections within libraries. The integration of geographic resources into library collections and services can provide significant added value to scholarly output, research activities, and the dissemination of knowledge
