Ventajas e inconvenientes de que los medios cuenten con un lab [Advantages and disadvantages of having a lab in media organizations]
At the current crossroads of the media and journalism, innovation is emerging not only as a "nice thing to have", but as an urgent and peremptory need. In this context, innovation labs are seen as a structured and somewhat privileged space. However, a review of the academic and professional literature on the subject also reveals voices that are critical of these spaces. Given this situation, we ask ourselves what their advantages and disadvantages are. To answer this question, we conducted semistructured interviews with 18 experts in the field for two reasons. Firstly, because they themselves are linked to a lab. Secondly, because they are highly qualified experts in journalistic innovation in its various forms, and academic experts as well. The results confirm that these laboratories offer considerable advantages, along with disadvantages, which can potentially cause operational problems. The latter do not invalidate the model, but they do force media outlets to use it in a reflexive way. This confirms the instrumental nature of these spaces, but also the fact that they are not really necessary, and their presence is not sufficient
El periodismo local reinventa estrategias. Decálogo para los desafíos en tiempos de inteligencia artificial [Local journalism reinvents strategies. Decalogue for the challenges in times of artificial intelligence]
Local and hyperlocal journalism is experiencing times of great change. It is reinventing and reinforcing strategies to survive in a scenario where news deserts have increased, many local media have disappeared and many news projects are finding it difficult to keep up with the pace of production and innovation imposed by the digital ecosystem. The digital transition has led to the appearance of many native media, especially due to the reduction of procedures and the ease of creating a platform on the web, but few had solid projects. Now, with the massive arrival of Artificial Intelligence (AI), many of these media outlets that have resisted the onslaught of adaptation, are convinced that they must review their strategies and look back at their audiences, who have not always been known in depth or understood their needs and demands, despite the multiple metrics that exist to monitor media consumption
El papel de las bibliotecas en la era de la inteligencia artificial (IA)
The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into libraries marks an evolution towards “smart libraries,” tailored to current technological and educational needs. These institutions are leveraging AI to enhance user experience, offering everything from personalized recommendations to advanced search services and efficient data management. However, this advancement also poses challenges, such as data privacy and the reliability of AI-generated information. Libraries are leading AI literacy efforts, empowering their users to interact responsibly with this technology and preparing them for the digital job market of the future. In this context, libraries continue to be crucial as spaces for continuous learning and equitable access to knowledge in a society increasingly influenced by AI
