Situación de los diarios españoles en el universo Meta: propuesta de estrategia en Threads [Situation of Spanish newspapers in the Metauniverse: a proposal for a strategy in Threads]

    Get PDF
The digital ecosystem has transformed communication from one-way to horizontal, allowing consumers to actively participate in the dissemination and creation of news. Digital platforms, especially social media, have changed society, forcing journalists to adapt to new ways of working. In this context, Meta's Threads platform, launched in Spain in December 2023, seeks to be an alternative to X. In Spain, the main national newspapers have started to use it, but with less frequency and engagement compared to Facebook and Instagram. The newspapers El País and La Vanguardia use Threads' resources, such as threads and emoticons, but in general, the platform is not perceived as essential for extending the reach of news, so a communication model is proposed that increases the notoriety of the medium and its information and promotes conversation and audience loyalty

El poder oculto: Control, polarización y deshumanización en la política contemporánea [Hidden power: Control, polarization and dehumanization in contemporary politics]

Contemporary society is increasingly trapped in a spiral of polarization and social unrest, which undermines constructive dialogue and fosters division. Public debates are often reduced to ideological confrontations, where nuanced perspectives are lost in favor of extreme positions. This polarization is not accidental but rather the result of deliberate mechanisms of power that manipulate perceptions and reinforce existing structures through media strategies, political narratives, and the commodification of social conflicts. This essay examines the dynamics driving these tensions, beginning with the role of mass control as a tool for maintaining power. It explores how these mechanisms contribute to the dehumanization of individuals, transforming them into mere cogs in a system designed to sustain the dominance of a privileged few. It further analyzes ideological reductionism as a method of dividing societies, fostering an environment ripe for hatred and confrontation. Additionally, the essay delves into the impact of biased headlines in shaping polarized opinions, the political circus that normalizes hostility, and the commodification of social conflict, where division becomes a profitable spectacle. The role of social indifference is also scrutinized as an unintentional ally in perpetuating these dynamics. In contrast to this bleak landscape, the essay concludes by exploring potential solutions. It considers the historical tendency toward continuity and obedience to leadership while presenting pathways for change, such as critical education, citizen participation, and innovative political organization. The possibility of breaking the vicious cycle of polarization is presented as a challenge that requires collective effort and a reimagining of societal values. By addressing these themes, the essay invites readers to reflect on the current challenges and opportunities for transformation in a world increasingly shaped by division and conflict

    Get PDF
Objective: This research aims to investigate the relationship between information literacy and entrepreneurship among the technological units located in the Science and Technology Park of Kermanshah. Method: This applied research was conducted using a quantitative approach and a survey method. The statistical population consisted of 285 technology units in the Kermanshah Science and Technology Park, from which a sample of 164 units was selected based on Morgan’s table. Data were collected using two standardized questionnaires: an information literacy questionnaire adapted from the Association of College and Research Libraries (ACRL), with a Cronbach’s alpha coefficient of 0.79, and an entrepreneurial capabilities questionnaire adapted from the Durham University Research Association in the UK, with a Cronbach’s alpha coefficient of 0.82. To assess the validity of the questionnaires, factor analysis was conducted based on Klein’s model. Cronbach’s alpha was used to evaluate the reliability. Both descriptive and inferential statistics were employed to analyze the research data. Results: The findings indicated that all components of information literacy have a positive and significant relationship with the entrepreneurial capabilities of the entrepreneurs in the technological units of the Kermanshah Science and Technology Park. Among these components, the effective use of information, effective access to information, and critical evaluation of information were identified as the strongest predictors of entrepreneurial capabilities. Conclusions: The components related to determining the nature and scope of information, as well as understanding legal, economic, and social issues, show a significant relationship with the entrepreneurial capabilities of technological units. However, according to the findings of this study, three components hold greater importance: using information to achieve a predetermined and specific goal (effective use of information), accessing the required information efficiently and cost-effectively (effective access to information), and analyzing arguments, evaluating the validity of resources, and identifying core problems (critical evaluation of information). The development of entrepreneurial capabilities in science and technology parks requires particular emphasis on these three components

Um diálogo entre a competência crítica em informação e as teorias anticoloniais a partir de Dussel, Quijano e Fanon

Critical competence in information (CCI) moves contrary to the dimension of competence itself or centered on an individual who, based on skills and knowledge, would become more competent. After all, what skills would these be without truly being aware of the ethical, social, political and economic dimensions of the subject in the capitalist world? Thus, a critique of this liberal and hegemonic model of mere competence is posed by several authors who resort to critical theories from the social and human sciences, which underlie the bases of critical competence in information. Our objective is, therefore, to continue the dialogue by bringing other theoretical bases in the construction of anti-colonial thinking, starting from decolonialists such as Enrique Dussel, Aníbal Quijano and Frantz Fanon. This research is classified as exploratory and bibliographic in nature. We consider that CCI can also be integrated with other epistemes whose critical and combative bias towards the proposed model becomes the starting point. Our study therefore moves in this direction, linked to critical post-colonial studies, with much more disquieting and less epistemic calming thoughts, thus contradicting the dominant narratives

It is a qualitative study with a comparative approach, with exercises of application of surveys, interviews and direct observation, with visits to the sites and to the people who potentially exercise the custody function. This after reviewing databases of each type of institution, identification from the municipal structure and natural persons referred by different means. It is evident the existence of a wealth of collections in a wide variety of formats with predominance of the printed. It highlights the photographs, press, monographs and the existence, mainly, of local collections in a good state of conservation, in general. Although it can be said that actions are implemented for the management of the patrimony, the necessary means and resources and training processes for the custodians are still lacking. Local and departmental authorities need to invest more in preventive conservation, organization and, especially, dissemination of heritage collections
