The study investigates how cloud-based solutions eliminate the need for on-premises infrastructure, streamline access to digital collections, and promote collaboration between institutions. Notwithstanding these benefits, the report notes drawbacks such as worries about data privacy reliance on outside service providers and the requirement for personnel to possess the necessary technical abilities. The study also recommends some solutions to overcome the challenges of cloud computing in libraries and to optimize its benefits. The findings suggest that while cloud computing offers numerous advantages to academic libraries, careful consideration of data governance and staff training is essential for successful implementation
Application of WhatsApp Technology in Library Services: A Study
Get PDFThis paper examines the usage and the purpose of WhatsApp application among the randomly selected medical students at BIMS College Belagavi in Karnataka, India through a questionnaire method. There were 193 responses received and the data has been analyzed using the SPSS statistical tool. The findings of the study indicate that a majority of students utilize WhatsApp for communication and information sharing and have expressed a desire for accessing library services such as lists of recently acquired books and newspaper services through this application. The findings of the study also enable librarians to ascertain the specific services that students seek via these digital channels and to incorporate social media strategically within library operations

Get PDFThe picturebook is a literary genre whose communicative strength, based on the combination of text and image, lies in its ability to represent social reality from different themes related to the SDGs for all types of readers. The main objective of this study is to determine the perceptions of Spanish public library professionals on the achievement of the SDGs based on the reading of the picturebook, given the democratizing function and the relevance of these institutions as key agents of social transformation and development, as set out in the 2030 Agenda. The lack of specific instruments determined the development of an ad hoc five-point Likert scale questionnaire - previously validated by a group of experts - on twenty-two items to assess the perceptions of 220 participants. The results reveal that, although public library professionals do recognize the need to implement strategies for the achievement of the SDGs, their general knowledge of actions aimed at their attainment based on the linkage of the two concepts analyzed is not sufficient. It is concluded that this study is a starting point to implement reflective and decisive practices of a transformative nature from picturebooks that also respond to the demands of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in the public library

Identifying the Components and Touchpoints of Promotional Advertising from the Perspectives of Social Marketing in Organ Donation
Get PDFBackground. The shortage of organ donations in in IRAN is a significant challenge that can be addressed through effective communication interactions. The dimensions of social marketing can positively impact people's behavior about organ donation. This study aimed to identify the effective components of the promotional advertising aspect of organ donation based on these dimensions.
Methods. This research was a scoping review to examine studies conducted in reputable databases from 2020 to 2024. This study sought to address the following question: What are the components and touchpoints that effectively contribute to increasing organ donation? A total of 83 articles were selected for inclusion in the study. Subsequently, thematic analysis was employed, focusing on components and themes influencing behavior change related to organ donation. Necessary coding was extracted to be considered an effective touchpoint in organ donation.
Results. From the 83 articles, three main domains, 12 components, and 120 codes were identified in the promotional advertising aspect of organ donation. Based on the research findings, the three important domains included factors affecting message effectiveness, types of messages, and communication channels. Regarding factors influencing effectiveness, four components were identified: message format, message sender, message recipient, and message evaluation. In the domain of message types, four components were identified: persuasive messages, informational messages, self-determination messages, and emotional messages. Regarding communication channels, four components were identified: event-based media, print media, digital media, and audiovisual media.
Conclusion. The present study demonstrated that using social marketing principles, particularly focusing on the needs and values of the audience, can increase awareness and participation in organ donation. This scoping review identified several factors that contribute to successful outcomes in increasing organ donation. However, these factors have rarely been studied in combination, indicating a gap in the literature. To enhance the effectiveness of campaigns in this field, future planning should place greater emphasis on designing long-term strategies and monitoring the effects of these initiatives

No full textThis article aims to present a literature review about the connection between the pedagogy of memory and its potential for promoting social memory, as derived from the research project "Pedagogy of Memory for the School Library in Colombia: Possibilities for Peace Chair Leadership." Methodologically, it employs documentary research followed by critical analysis of the sources studied. Initially, it provides an introduction and general contextualization of memory studies; subsequently, it outlines the methodology for information search and analysis. The article then proceeds to present the results and their analysis, focusing on four main themes: the treatment of memory in education and schools, memory policies, pedagogy of memory, and findings concerning the relationship between memory and libraries. Finally, the article discusses the findings, trends, and gaps identified in the analysis. Finally, closing with the conclusions

The theoretical foundations of learning through investigation and constructivism are presented, then a variety of experiments are presented — from measuring gravitational acceleration, Ohm's law and damped pendulum motion, to the interference of light, the photoelectric effect and the determination of Planck's constant. The book also discusses the value of virtual laboratories as a complementary support, emphasizing that they can increase the efficiency and accessibility of learning, but cannot completely replace practical experience. The author addresses the impact of experiments on motivation, critical thinking, collaboration and the formation of an integrated scientific vision. The challenges of implementation in the curriculum (limited resources, safety, resistance to change) are analyzed and solutions are offered to overcome them. Overall, the volume is both a practical guide to experiments and a plea for their systematic integration into STEM education
