Performance of gender diversity on Board of director: The case of Indonesia
This study further explores womens role in top management in Indonesia, where men still dominate that position. This study underlines the role of womens boards of commissioners in producing better financial performance in the specific sectors, manufacturing and service sectors, where the power of women to lead these sectors is more optimal. The sample is selected from the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period 20092018. The final sample is 780 observations. This study applies panel data, which is more robust when controlling heterogeneity. Data panel regression is applied to analyze data. This study finds that gender diversity harms market-based performance, while from accounting-based measures, gender diversity has a significant positive effect. This study is applied explicitly in the manufacturing and services industrial sectors; therefore, carefully generalizing the results is necessary. Research in other specific sectors is very open to obtaining specific results in various industries, including developing countries other than Indonesia. The market has not trusted the role of women in top management; there is still a kind of hidden distrust about the capabilities of women in running the top leadership captain. The market needs more substantial evidence to believe in womens performance on the board of directors. Therefore, it is necessary to provide wider opportunities for women to sit on the board of commissioners, as much as men hav
Kajian Persepsi Makna Sakral Arsitektur Tradisional Jawa Secara Virtual Bagi Mahasiswa Arsitektur
Virtual Reality (VR) technology can provide a spatial experience that almost resembles real conditions. Through VR, it is hoped that it can also present sacred meanings/perceptions that are usually strongly felt when entering certain buildings. This research conducted VR simulations on three types of traditional Javanese buildings, to identify respondents perceptions of the sacred by entering a virtual space experience. This research uses quantitative methods with a descriptive approach and is supported by qualitative methods in selecting parameters. Data collection in this study used a questionnaire with a list of questions asked to respondents online via Google Form while accessing the 360 virtual tour. The research results show that respondents can feel and rank the level of sacredness of Javanese architecture. The strongest sense of the sacred is conveyed through the scale of the building, including the area and height of the building, the weight of materials, loudness of sound and lighting. The most dominant descriptor felt by respondents was material weight. From the results obtained, it can be concluded that sacredness is more pronounced from descriptors related to spatial scale than related to function. Through this research, it is hoped that VR technology can be enriched so that it can optimally present architectural works that have various implied meanings
Changes in Social Distancing within Post-Pandemic Architecture in the Context of Security Design: A Systematic Literature Search and Review
Changes of social distancing in post-pandemic architecture in the context of security design refers to the changes in spatial distancing and protocols in a building for preventing future pandemics in the context of security design. In 2019, the rapid spread of COVID-19 has caused changes in architecture, especially in social distancing. The built environment needs different strategies to help prevent the spread of disease in the future. This study will review and discuss changes in social distancing within post-pandemic architecture in the context of security design. A systematic literature search and review defines previous research systematically, relates concepts, and critically reanalyses data. The first step is systematically clear selection, the second is coding, and the third is synthesis. The selection considered 109 papers (of which 39 were reviewed). The findings are five strategies for future social distancing in architecture post-pandemic revealed using prevention strategies: standards for integrating a healthy environment; relationships and interactions in users pattern activity; environment design related to nature; spatial relationships (proxemics); and place attachment. Each strategy demonstrates the connection between social distancing in post-pandemic architecture and security-pandemic variables for built environments that can prevent future disease spread. These findings will support future research in defining and understanding the need for holistic analysis of changes in social distancing within post-pandemic architecture
Examining Indonesian Consumer Willingness to Adopt Solar PV: The Effect of Green Consumption, Price
Existing research on solar energy in Indonesia often explores the macroeconomic factors influencing the slow adoption of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. In contrast, this study places a specific emphasis on the individual consumers inclination to embrace the technology. The primary research objectives involve examining the impact of price value, green consumption value, social influence, and facilitating conditions on behavioral intention. Data were gathered from a final sample of 210 valid respondents through simple random sampling and subsequently analyzed using PLS-SEM. The results indicate that price value, green consumption value, and facilitating conditions significantly and positively contribute to the intention to adopt solar panels. Conversely, social influence plays an insignificant role in the decision-making process. These findings offer valuable insights that can inform policy initiatives and enhance marketing strategies for promoting renewable energy solutions in Indonesia
On the Convergence and Accuracy of the Partition of Unity-based T3-CNS and T3-DNS Elements in Surface Fittings
In recent years, several alternative non-standard finite element methods (FEMs) have been developed to improve the accuracy and convergence of the standard FEM. One of the proposed alternative FEMs which is of our interest is a method that combines the FEM and meshfree method using the partition of unity concept, called the three-node triangular element with continuous nodal stress (T3-CNS). In the T3-CNS element formulation, the shape functions are constructed using a combination of finite element continuous nodal gradient shape functions and a set of mesh-free shape functions obtained using the orthonormalized and constrained least-squares method. The aim of this paper is to present a numerical study on the accuracy and convergence of the T3-CNS interpolation when approximating several mathematically defined surfaces and their gradients. In addition, the dis-continuous nodal stress version of the element called the T3-DNS, is examined. The results are compared to those obtained using the standard triangular element and the Kriging-based triangular element. The results show that both the T3-CNS and T3-DNS interpolations possess the consistency property, providing highly accurate surface fittings, and exhibiting excellent convergence. Therefore, both the T3-CNS and T3-DNS interpolations are suitable to be employed as the trial function in numerical methods based on the Ray-leigh-Ritz or Galerkin method
