Locking-Free Kriging-Based Curved Beam Elements with the Discrete Strain Gap Technique

    Get PDF
Kriging-based finite element method (K-FEM) is an enhancement of the FEM using Kriging interpolation in place of the conventional polynomial interpolation. This paper presents the development of the K-FEM for analysis of curved beams based on a deep arc theory, which accounts for membrane and shear deformation. The discrete strain gap technique is employed to circumvent shear locking and membrane locking. The numerical tests show that the Kriging-based elements are free from any locking, are able to provide highly accurate solutions with a regular course mesh discretization, and have excellent convergence characteristics, especially for circular beams

Job Burnout Among Hotel Employees: The Impact on OCB and Employee Performance

    Get PDF
The company success is determined by employee performance. To ensure that the employee able to deliver their best performance, the company must pay attention on various factors, for instance: job burnout. Job burnout often occurs among hotel employees. Hotels must operate resourcefully to deliver good quality service continuously. The tasks at the hotel are very demanding, and the work environment is stressful. Every employee is forced to be able to work multitasking rapidly and skillfully so that the hotel can operate effectively and efficiently. The research objective is to determine the impact of job burnout on employee performance by using Organizational Citizenship Behavior as an intervening variable for hotel employees. In this quantitative research, a survey was conducted on 120 employees who worked in a number of two-star hotels in Surabaya. The sample was determined using a purposive sampling technique. The data obtained was processed using the Partial Least Square analysis technique. The research results show that job burnout can significantly disrupt employee performance and Organizational Citizenship Behavior. Meanwhile, Organizational Citizenship Behavior can significantly improve employee performance. Organizational citizenship behavior has also been proven to be able to act as a mediating variable in the relationship between job burnout and employee performance

This study specifically analyzed the mediating roleof customer relationships in the relationship between social media marketing activities and purchase intention. The research was centered on people in Indonesia who have seen Tokopedias Instagram content. Employing a simple random sampling approach, a questionnaire was disseminated, and subsequently, the PLS-SEM method was applied to evaluate the responses from 119 valid participants. The results showed a notable impact of social media marketing activities on purchase intention and a significant correlation between customer relationships and purchase intention. Additionally, the findings suggest that customer relationships partially mediate the connection between social media marketing activities and purchase intention

The year 2024 will be an important year in the political history of Indonesia, with the holding of general elections (Pemilu). These elections and democracy became a test of the independence and credibility of the media in implementing their political journalism. Narasi TV shows this through its Musyawarah Nobar Debat Cawapres 2024 program. Targeting youth audiences, Narasi TV use an innovative diversifying programming, by packaging a live stream of presidential debates in a new model and broadcasting via Najwa Shihab’s YouTube channel. There is also a “fact-checking,” where the research team will immediately check the accuracy and truth of the statements during the debate. This can help to attract young audiences who may be looking for fresh and exciting content. This is the answer to criticism of live broadcast programs that are often boring to watch. Narasi TV also presents Najwa Shihab, Andovi Da Lopez, and Jovial Da Lopez, which are fresh collaborators in creating journalistic content. Narasi TV also invites speakers from each candidate team, to explore the debate that suits the characteristics of young voters. A checklist guides is also provided for audiences, to assist them in assessing the credibility of presidential candidate. This shows a changing trend from the media when streaming political debates live and stage it as a new mode of online participation.
