    Get PDF
Artificial intelligence (AI) chatbots have been utilized as interactive learning platforms for higher education. Gen-Z was a generation that quickly adopted the latest technology. Several Gen-Z students participated in the Pemilu (general elections in Indonesia) for the first time in 2024. Therefore, this research aimed to develop an AI chatbot to give information about Pemilu to Gen-Z voters. The researcher developed the AI chatbot with several steps: data collecting, training, evaluating, refining, and analyzing conversation data. A group of 100 Gen-Z students took part in testing the AI chatbot. The researcher discovered that it was essential to keep refining the AI chatbot by improving the datasets and putting more context in it. Next, the researcher asserted that experienced Gen-Z voters asked more questions, as they have prior knowledge of experiencing the previous elections. Most of the experienced Gen-Z votersasked advanced questions, while most of the first-time Gen-Z voters asked basic questions. Moreover, the AI chatbot was a suitable learning platform for Gen-Z as they used metacognitive strategies to experiment with their questions to get the correct information from the AI chatbot. That action automatically helped the AI chatbot to improve its performance as part of the training step

Effects of Ammonia (NH3) on Flame Characteristics of Methane (CH4) External Premixed Combustion

    Get PDF
Methane has long been proposed as an alternative to heavy hydrocarbon fuels due to its low carbon content. However, considering the effect of climate change and the need to transition to zero-carbon, ammonia has recently gained popularity as a sustainable fuel. Nevertheless, previous studies have highlighted the poor combustion of ammonia and the need to blend it with other fuels like methane. As such, this study looks for parameters from the results of the fire of external combustion of premixed methane-ammonia gas. The study was conducted by burning stoichiometry first and then using a volume ratio as the content of the methane-ammonia mixture (ammonia concentration used 0-50%). The gas that comes out of the gas cylinder was adjusted in pressure and flow before mixing and then flowed into the burner to be combusted. The flame propagating from the burner was recorded in a high-speed camera and was used to define the combustion characteristics such as the flame height, flame angle, and dimensionless flame height. The higher concentration of ammonia in the fuel mixture was found to shorten the flame height and dimensionless flame height, while the flame angle became wider

Actual material virtual materiality: Multiplicity of locality-based exhibition

    Get PDF
This study aims to demonstrate actual-virtual multiplication in the context of spatial operations in locality-based architectural exhibitions. Exhibitions are curatorial activities that provoke discourse. Architectural exhibition also means operating actual-virtual objects through relational multiplication. Multiplication is to perceive objects not as singular but as multiple various entities. The multiplication operation in exhibitions must be further explored, especially in exhibitions involving objects with various layer depths. As one of the local materials in Indonesian architectural practice, soil has various profoundness in the locality context. The Tanahku Indonesia exhibition is the case study, a national-scale exhibition of local material-based exhibitions. The breakdown of the case study focuses on its actual-virtual elements, operations, and relations. Terms actual in an exhibition can indicate the direct artifact element. In contrast, virtual can suggest artificial, indirect, and multiplicative representation methods. The study offers three concepts. First, actual material can be a portal to virtual materiality. Second, multiplications of objects and materials reveal various spatial operations in an exhibition. Third, the connection between exhibitions is a multistage multiplication process of spatial design. Exhibition spatial construction has various interrelated actual-virtual multiplication operations that become a potential for future design basis

    Get PDF
The purpose of this study is to explore the correlation between managerial ability and the performance of mergers and acquisitions (M&A). The research examines the impact of managerial ability on both short-term and long-term performance of the acquiring firm. The period of study is from 2016 to 2021, using two metrics which are Market-to-Book Ratio (MTBR) to assess operating performance and Buy-and-Hold Abnormal return (BHAR) to quantify stock return performance. By analyzing data from a sample of M&A cases conducted by public companies registered within KPPU in Indonesia, this study aims to establish whether a positive correlation exists between managerial ability and M&A success. The research concludes that successful M&As depend on effective decision-making by managers, who play a critical role in navigating the complexities of integration and value creation. The findings can contribute to the understanding of factors that influence M&A outcomes and potentially improve investment decisions by emphasizing the importance of managerial competence in such endeavors
