Investment scam vulnerability among university students: the role of personality traits and risk tolerance
No full textThis study demonstrates that personality traits affect investment scam vulnerability, either directly or indirectly, through risk tolerance. This study uses the Big Five personality traits, specifically openness to experience, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness,
and neuroticism. This study collected data by randomly distributing surveys
to students from A-accredited universities in Java and Bali, Indonesia, areas known for
their economic growth. The study analysed 421 respondents aged 18�24 years old at
undergraduate and graduate levels using the partial least squares method. Our findings
reveal a negative correlation between the conscientiousness trait and scam vulnerability.
The ability of conscientiousness-type respondents to obtain quality and
relevant information prevents them from making impulsive investments. This study
also finds that students with high openness to experience, extraversion, and neuroticism
traits increase their vulnerability to scams through risk tolerance. These types of
personality traits cause the individual to tolerate more risky investments, thereby
increasing their susceptibility to investment fraud. There is still limited research that connects personality traits, risk tolerance, and scam vulnerability. In addition, this study is able to expand the boundaries of the Big Five personality theory
Artificial Intelligence Tools for Research Writing: Practical Tips for Teachers
No full textWriting research papers is a challenging task for many students, particularly when it comes to organizing ideas, finding appropriate references, and adhering to academic styles. This responsibility places significant demands on teachers to guide students through the complexities of academic writing. This paper explores the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) tools into the research writing process as a solution to these challenges. It examines various AI applications that support content generation, literature review, data analysis, editing, and citation management. While these tools offer substantial benefits in enhancing students writing skills, the paper emphasizes the critical role of teachers in ensuring responsible use of AI. Practical instructional strategies are provided for teachers to effectively incorporate AI tools at different stages of writing, such as brainstorming, drafting, refining clarity and style, managing references, ensuring originality, and analyzing data. The conclusion highlights that although AI tools are valuable assets in research writing, teachers remain essential in guiding students to use these technologies critically and effectively

teachers competence in using Google Earth as a learning media
through practice-based training. The training activities were carried
out at Santa Maria Catholic Elementary School in Blitar City, located
on Jl. Sudanco Supriyadi No.21 Blitar on December 14, 2024. This
research is a community service and the research method used is
descriptive, including the stages of needs identification, planning,
training implementation, evaluation, and mentoring. Key findings
show that this training is effective in improving teachers
understanding and skills in utilizing Google Earth features for
interactive learning. In conclusion, this training has a positive impact
on teachers readiness to integrate technology in learning, although
further assistance is still needed. It is recommended that this training
program be implemented sustainably and expanded to other regions

This paper explores SSO in a fully open source implementations with Keycloak, RADIUS and LDAP; extending to captive portal implementations with PacketFence for Wi-Fi authentication. Specifically, this paper highlights the integration of PacketFence with FreeRADIUS for captive portal authentication, leveraging Keycloak for identity management and providing users with secure Wi-Fi access. Real-world examples, such as authenticating campus network users over Wi-Fi with 802.1X and captive portals, illustrate how these systems work in tandem to provide scalable and secure network access control
Batik: a Strategy for Women s Empowerment in the Former-Red Light Districts Dolly Surabaya
No full textThe former Dolly red-light district in Putat Jaya, Surabaya, once known as one of the largest prostitution hubs in Southeast Asia, has been undergoing a social and economic transformation following its closure in 2014. A batik training program held in RW 12, Putat Jaya, aims to empower women in the area by developing batik craft skills and creating new economic opportunities. This training involves 20 participants, primarily women, who are taught the techniques of stamped batik using recycled materials. The training methods include color theory, batik design, and hands-on practice in efficient batik production. Despite difficulties differentiating products and limited marketing efforts, this program shows great potential for empowering women and creating sustainable business opportunities. The outcomes of this training are expected to reduce reliance on government assistance and enhance economic independence

No full textThe coastal community of Tegalsari Hamlet, Dukuh Kupang Village, Sidoarjo, is facing a clean water crisis due to dependence on brackish water sources with Total Dissolved Solid (TDS) reaching 6000 mg/L, which is considered very dangerous. To overcome this problem, the community service team developed a brackish water purifier based on local materials (ALPAMAL) using environmentally friendly technology. This activity uses the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method combined with service learning, involving the community in every stage, from identifying problems, designing the tool, to implementation and evaluation. The survey results showed that 96% of the community wanted ALPAMAL for clean water needs, and 93% were willing to maintain the tool. This program proves that simple, participation-based technology can be a sustainable solution in dealing with the air crisis in coastal areas, as well as increasing community independence in managing air resources
