    Plastic waste, especially disposable cups and bottles, is a major problem in Jangkungan Herbal Village, Surabaya. This is because it is difficult to store, requires large space, and is difficult to transport, making waste bank officers unable to do their jobs efficiently. The purpose of this community service program is to improve the efficiency of plastic waste management using appropriate technology and citizen participation. To strengthen the community-based management system, the Kampung Herbal Waste Bank was established to increase residents knowledge about the importance of waste management, provide technical training on sorting, and assist the use of screw press shredding machines made to overcome land limitations. The existence of a screw press machine is expected to improve storage and transportation efficiency, reduce the volume of plastic waste, and increase public awareness of an environmentally friendly environment

    Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur pengaruh pengalaman sustainable tourism khususnya pada aspek sosial budaya terhadap vivid memory yang nantinya akan memengaruhi niat berperilaku dari para wisatawan mancanegara yang sedang dan telah berwisata ke Yogyakarta dan Surabaya. Penelitian ini menganalisa data dari 262 responden yang valid, yang merupakan wisatawan mancanegara yang sedang maupun pernah berkunjung ke Yogyakarta dan Surabaya, menggunakan teknik analisa data Partial Least Square (PLS). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya pengaruh positif dan signifikan dari variabel sosial budaya terkait pariwisata berkelanjutan terhadap niat berperilaku, dengan Vivid memory sebagai mediator. Implikasinya, hasil penelitian ini dapat menjadi dasar dalam merumuskan kebijakan dan strategi yang lebih efektif untuk mempromosikan pariwisata berkelanjutan di Indonesia

    The Community Partnership Empowerment Program for the Delta Samudera Timur Group was carried out in Dusun Tegalsari Dukuh Kupang, Jabon District, Sidoarjo Regency. This activity was implemented to address the clean water crisis caused by brackish water conditions that are not suitable for consumption. The main objective is to improve access to clean and consumable water while also promoting gender equality in coastal communities. Efforts were made through the installation of a brackish water purification system utilizing local materials (ALPAMAL), along with gender-based mentoring that emphasizes the distribution of domestic roles and economic opportunities. The implementation began with a community needs survey, followed by the construction and installation of the purification system, and concluded with an evaluation through post-activity interviews. The results showed that the technology successfully produced clean water for both consumption and household needs. The mentoring also increased men�s awareness and participation in domestic work, while opening new business opportunities for women, such as community-based culinary ventures. This program demonstrates that the combination of environmentally friendly technology and social approaches can serve as a catalyst for improving the quality of life and transforming gender relations in coastal areas

    Dunia industri baja tidak asing dengan lapangan kerja yang penuh dengan keberisikan. Semakin berkembangnya teknologi industri, semakin banyak mesin dan peralatan industri operasional yang menjadi akumulasi sumber kebisingan. Khususnya di sebuah pabrik baja yang memproduksi baja ringan seperti PT X, mesin slitting adalah salah satu sumber kebisingan yang sangat tinggi. Teknisi mesin slitting sering kali terganggu dengan tingkat kebisingan yang tinggi hingga harus meninggalkan tempat pos monitoring mesin untuk menghindari kebisingan tersebut dan saat ini belum ada tindakan Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja dari PT X. Peninggalan pos ini sering kali menjadi faktor utama kelalaian operasional dan monitoring mesin. Nilai Ambang Batas kebisingan yang aman untuk kesehatan seorang pekerja sudah ditetapkan oleh pemerintah dan NIOSH di 85 dBA. PT X perlu mengevaluasi tingkat kebisingan area mesin. Perlu adanya beberapa penanggulangan dari PT X untuk mengatasi masalah kebisingan ini untuk menguntungkan kedua pihak perusahaan dan karyawan. Ditemukan tingkat kebisingan di area mesin slitting rata-rata adalah 100 dBA ke atas dan sumber utama kebisingan yang paling tinggi adalah bagian mesin slitter. Maka dari itu PT X perlu segera mengatasi masalah ini dengan memberi ear protector sebagai K3 kebisingan dan tindakan lainnya yang diperluka

    enyandang Down Syndrome (DS) di Indonesia masih menghadapi eksklusi sosial dan ekonomi, meskipun potensi mereka untuk hidup mandiri dan berwirausaha semakin diakui. Penelitian desain inklusif selama ini banyak berfokus pada furnitur edukasi untuk anak-anak dengan DS, namun minim solusi fungsional bagi dewasa muda penyandang DS (18-35 tahun) yang terlibat dalam kegiatan vokasional. Penelitian ini mengisi celah tersebut melalui perancangan gerobak wirausaha inklusif yang mendukung kemandirian ekonomi mereka. Pendekatan metode campuran digunakan, menggabungkan pengukuran antropometri (n = 18) dan wawancara mendalam serta observasi partisipatif dengan penyandang DS dan pendamping. Data dianalisis secara triangulatif, mengintegrasikan standar ergonomi (persentil ke-5) dengan kebutuhan psikososial, lalu disintesis melalui prinsip Human-Centered Design (HCD) dan kerangka Design Thinking (Emphatize hingga Test). Hasilnya Adalah dua tipe gerobak – Cake & Cookies dan Art & Craft – masing-masing dengan enam alternatif desain yang mempertimbangkan ergonomi, keamanan, aksesibilitas, dan keterlibatan emosional.     Investigation of the Size Control of Copper Ferrite Nanoparticles on their Electrical Properties in a Ferrofluid System using Oleic Acid Surfactant as an Energy Harvester

    This research develops an energy harvesting system based on CuFe2O4 (copper ferrite) ferrofluid with size control using oleic acid as surfactant. The synthesis of copper ferrite nanoparticles as ferrofluid filler was carried out using the sonochemical method with the main iron source material being iron sand from Sine Beach, Tulungagung. Copper ferrite nanoparticles were coated with oleic acid in various volumes to control their size. After being completely coated, the mixture is dispersed in olive oil to become a complete ferrofluid. A series of characterizations was carried out comprehensively to confirm the success of this research, including characterization of structure, morphology, functional groups, and electrical properties. The structure of copper ferrite nanoparticles was identified using an X-ray diffractometry (XRD) instrument. It was discovered that the size of copper ferrite nanoparticles was 9.7 nm, and the structure formed was spinel reverse cubic with the highest peak of the HKL (3 1 1) plane located at an angle of 35.5°. The morphology of copper ferrite nanoparticles was observed via scanning electron microscope (SEM). Based on the results obtained, copper ferrite nanoparticles appear to agglomerate with particle clusters reaching 52 nm and an average particle size distribution of 25.1 nm. Functional group characterization was carried out using Fourier transform infrared (FTIR). The results showed that all precursors in the ferrofluid system had successfully emerged and formed. Analysis of electrical characteristics was carried out through I-V testing, and it was obtained that the CF3 sample with a volume of 3.6 mL of oleic acid had the highest current values of 13.1 μA, however, the three samples showed a good response and were representative for use as an energy harvester, which is promising

    Delapan jam setiap hari bergumul dengan pekerjaan memberikan alun kehidupan yang datar. Kita bisa saja sudah mati rasa karena mengerjakan hal yang sama setiap menit, setiap jam, dan setiap hari. Situasi ini bisa melahirkan kesulitan bila kita sendiri enggan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas diri. Malas belajar, malas berimprovisasi, malas mengeksplorasi diri dengan mencari cara baru untuk pekerjaan agar lebih efektif dan efisien. Bagi kita, melakukan hal yang sama secara rutin, sudah cukup dalam menjalankan tanggung jawab. Padahal, situasi ini dapat melahirkan pelbagai masalah berikutnya. Tentu saja permasalahan yang muncul akan lebih pelik daripada masalah sebelumnya. Karenanya, memahami nilai-nilai dalam sebuah perusahaan dapat membuat kita dapat menjalankan kinerja yang terhindar dari kebosanan. Kita dapat menjadi lebih efektif dan efisien

    Overview of High Rise Development in Surabaya City in Several Periods of Years

    Surabaya as a metropolitan city, in this era is facing high business activities, economy, education, entertainment and residential needs. The presence of high rise supported by construction technology such as materials or structures, is a solution and opportunity for architecture to answer problems in urban areas by creating buildings that are comfortable and safe for residents and the environment. Starting with the establishment of Wisma BII in 1992 as the first high rise milestone, Surabaya continues to experience rapid development in high rise development. In this research there are 83 high rise buildings in Surabaya that will be analyzed by comparing the main parameters such as function, form, and material. It was found that most of the high rises developed into a mixed use with a setback form and the main structural material is concrete. The analysis was conducted using data from journals and the Council on Tall Building and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) and produced relevant findings. This research is expected to be useful for architects and urban developers in supporting sustainable development in Surabaya

    Modern developments encourage designers to create designs that are not easily consumed by time but still attract users. Interesting means answering design problems such as space needs, space desires, even spatial concepts. Not only that, designers are also required to create designs that increase work effectiveness and productivity, but are not easily consumed by time. Therefore, smart technology design is one solution that answers these problems, with adaptations from smart materials, devices, to sensors and prioritizing user comfort and space comfort. Similar to existing design developments, the development of the retail business in Indonesia is also growing rapidly. This has had impacts such as competition between businesses and changes in buyers shopping habits. Therefore, each retail business is expected to have its own strategy and appeal in attracting consumers. This research was carried out using a design with smart technology applied to the Glory Jaya Stationery Store, which is a stationery and office retail store. The design methods used are understanding, observing, point of view, idea, prototype, testing, storytelling, piloting, and business models. The aim of this research is to answer existing problems, namely by producing a stationery shop design that is comfortable and can attract the attention of visitors, as well as implementing smart technology. The results of this research are 1 set of interior designs with the application of smart technology that can help increase the comfort of space users, as well as increase the attractiveness of retail stores
