    Hote model for accounting information system adoption for small and medium scale enterprises in northern ghana

    Accounting information systems (AIS) assist small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) in making better decisions. SME accounting must be handled effectively in order for them to survive and grow. Previous study on AIS deployment in Ghana has mostly overlooked critical areas such as SMEs. In Ghana, there is currently lack of model that combines all technological, human, organizational, and environmental factors. The human-organization- technology-environment (HOTE) model was created by combining the four categories and investigates factors influencing SMEs' AIS adoption. The most common SMEs AIS adoption factors were then identified. IT officers' innovativeness; staff IT capability; managerial structure; organizational readiness; software perceived benefits; facilitating conditions; competitive pressure and government support are these factors. The technology- organization-environment (TOE) and human-organization-technology (HOT-Fit) models were utilized to build the model. Survey of SMEs was done and evaluated using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM). It demonstrates that 7 of the 11 hypotheses were supported, with one, two, or three hypotheses from each of the four dimensions. Findings will contribute to earlier research by giving theoretical and practical implications for AIS adoption and SMEs performance. Based on the findings, stakeholders were advised to encourage SMEs AIS adoption

    DSRC technology in Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) and Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I) IoT System for Intelligent Transportation System (ITS): a review

    Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) consisting of Vehicle Ad-hoc Networks (VANET) offers a major role in ensuring a safer environment in cities for drivers and pedestrians. VANET has been classified into two main parts which are Vehicle to Infrastructure (V2I) along with Vehicle to Vehicle (V2V) Communication System. This technology is still in development and has not been fully implemented worldwide. Currently, Dedicated Short Range Communication (DSRC) is a commonly used module for this system. This paper focuses on both V2V and V2I latest findings done by previous researcher and describes the operation of DSRC along with its architecture including SAE J2735, Basic Safety Message (BSM) and different type of Wireless Access in Vehicular Environment (WAVE) which is being labeled as IEEE 802.11p. Interestingly, (i) DSRC technology has been significantly evolved from electronic toll collector application to other V2V and V2I applications such as Emergency Electronics Brake Lights (EEBL), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Intersection Moving Assist (IMA), Left Turn Assist (LTA) and Do Not Pass Warning (DNPW) (ii) DSRC operates at different standards and frequencies subject to the country regulations (e.g. ITS-G5A for Europe (5.875–5.905 GHz), US (5.850–5.925 GHz), Japan (755.5–764.5 MHz) and most other countries (5.855–5.925 GHz)) where the frequencies affected most on the radius of coverage

    Malware attack forecasting by using exponential smoothing

    One of the threats on digital environment is malicious software (malware). Malware can bring harm to computer system that have connection to the internet. Malware may disclose sensitive information such as password and brings economic losses. Predicting the malware attack is vital in supporting decision-making process to avoid further damage on computer systems. The main objective of this study is to develop computational model to predict quantity of malware attack and assess the performance of exponential smoothing in forecasting malware attack. There are two types of exponential smoothing forecasting model involve in this study which is single exponential smoothing and double exponential smoothing. The forecasting performance will be evaluated by using Mean Squared Error (MSE), Mean Absolute Error (MAE) and Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE). Monthly malware detection data in one financial institution’s computer servers from November 2014 to August 2019 will be utilized in this research. The result from this study shows that single exponential smoothing produces 0.0015 of MSE, 0.4655 of MAE and 6.0158 of MAPE. Single Exponential Smoothing produces lower value of MSE, MAE and MAPE, compared to double exponential smoothing. Thus, single exponential smoothing gives a promising result in forecasting the malware attack

    Sperm-cell detection using YOLOv5 architecture

    Infertility has become a severe health issue in recent years. Sperm morphology, sperm motility, and sperm density are the most critical factors in male infertility. As a result, sperm motility, density, and morphology are examined in semen analysis carried out by laboratory professionals. However, applying a subjective analysis based on laboratory observation is easy to make a mistake. To reduce the effect of specialists in semen analysis, a computer-aided sperm count estimation approach is proposed in this work. The quantity of active sperm in the semen is determined using object detection methods focusing on sperm motility. The proposed strategy was tested using data from the Visem dataset provided by Association for Computing Machinery. We created a small sample custom dataset to prove that our network will be able to detect sperms in images. The best not-super tuned result is mAP 72.15

    Advancing competitive intelligence as a correlation of competitive advantage in Iraqi banking industry

    The extant literature suggests that firms could gain and sustain competitive advantage using competitive intelligence. Competitive intelligence is a tool that keeps firms abreast of changes in market preferences, technology, competition, and social and strategic positionings. However, despite the fairly-developed corpus on the link between competitive intelligence and competitive advantage, the literature seems short on treating this relationship within the banking sector of the Arab world. Drawing on the resource-based view (RBV) and knowledge-based view (KBV) frameworks, this paper advances competitive intelligence as a correlate of competitive advantage in the Iraqi banking industry. Four hypotheses were advanced, and methods were suggested for collecting data (through the appropriate instruments) and testing the hypotheses. The result may provide a starting point or motivation for further research in this direction

    Building supply chain resilience capabilities during pandemic disruption

    Supply chain resilience is used to mitigate and deal with the unexpected disruptions of supply chains in the past decades. The sudden catastrophes such as epidemic of Coronavirus disease has led to the lockdowns globally and caused harsh economic consequences. The immediate global supply chain disruption has initiated a sharp plunge in all business activities, demand, and production interruption. This unstable, challenging, and vulnerable market environment highlights the necessity of investigating the supply chain resilience (SCRes) which has regained academicians’ and practitioners’ attention from various industries recently. This study aims to find the limitations and new developments in conceptualizing SCRes in the discipline of supply chain risk management. Hence, a total of 597 articles in the theme of SCRes are collected and adopted the content analysis to screen in this study.87 papers are final investigated via refining the research of SCRes to each stage according to the pre/in/after the disruption. In this perspective, different phases were included to value and replenish the notable limitations in conceptualizing SCRes, which emphasizes the significance of the stage of “Growth” and the “dynamic” perspective (not only return to the original level after the disruption but also develop into a novel, more desirable condition). The outcomes of the review indicate that SCRes is a significant dynamic capability for supply chains to prepare, adjust, response, recover and grow (which has ignored by many scholars) before or after the unexpected interruption including the outbreak of coronavirus disease (COVID-19)

    Leveraging prefabricated construction supply chain management through building information modelling

    Prefabricated construction has been promoted as an innovative process in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry to reduce construction time and waste. Despite its capability, the adoption of prefabricated construction in Malaysia remains low due to the fragmented delivery processes among a large number of project stakeholders. Building Information Modelling (BIM) has a high capability to address these issues by centralising, coordinating, and visualising the design, timeline, and related costs for the supply chain management. Thus, this research aims to develop a process map that integrates BIM in prefabricated construction supply chain management. A 28-storey commercial building was selected as a case study to evaluate and visualise the supply chain management. A total of 405 precast families were created to develop a BIM Level of Detail (LOD) 300 model in Revit®. This model was utilised to (1) develop a work programme in Oracle® Primavera and (2) simulate the four-dimensional (4D) and five-dimensional (5D) BIM analysis in Navisworks® Manage. A process map was developed based on this case study and further validated by six expert panels. High mean scores ranging from 4.06 to 4.58 out of 5.00 were obtained for the validation process, affirming the feasibility of BIM integration in prefabricated construction to improve the supply chain management process. Generally, the experts agreed that the process map could be applied in other projects depending on the nature and suitability of the projects. Thus, future works include testing the process map in other case studies. This study contributes to a formalised process in preparing, coordinating, and simulate relevant information for prefabricated construction supply chain management

    Walkable environment: Building resilient and healthy cities post-pandemic

    This paper explores the urban population's walking behaviour and mobility pattern within a walkable environment in response to the COVID-19 pandemic in the selected neighbourhood in Klang Valley, Malaysia. Data was collected through an online questionnaire survey. The key findings revealed that the pandemic limits pedestrian movement and changes their travelling methods due to the Malaysian government’s Movement Control Order (MCO). As a result, walking and public transportation usage have declined due to the fear of proximity in public areas. Hence, further recommendations are required to ensure walking sustainability for daily routines whilst promoting resilient and healthy cities

    Anti-obfuscation techniques: Recent analysis of malware detection

    One of the challenging issues in detecting the malware is that modern stealthy malware prefers to stay hidden during their attacks on our devices and be obfuscated. They can evade antivirus scanners or other malware analysis tools and might attempt to thwart modern detection, including altering the file attributes or performing the action under the pretense of authorized services. Therefore, it's crucial to understand and analyze how malware implements obfuscation techniques to curb these concerns. This paper is dedicated to presenting an analysis of anti-obfuscation techniques for malware detection. Furthermore, an empirical analysis of the performance evaluation of malware detection using machine learning algorithms and the obfuscation techniques was conducted to address the associated issues that might help researchers plan and generate an efficient algorithm for malware detection

    Environmental management accounting in Malaysian electrical and electronic manufacturing industry

    EMA plays an important role in the practice of managing environmental activities in the manufacturing industry. The objective of this paper is to examine the critical success factors of Environmental Management Accounting (EMA) in Malaysian electrical and electronic manufacturing industry. The paper is prepared by reviewing the relevant literatures on EMA. This framework could provide guidance to the Malaysian electrical and electronics manufacturing industry to improve the EMA. The conceptual framework developed in this study can be used as a guideline for implementing the EMA. The population of this study is focused on the manufacturing industries of electrical and electronics. Therefore, the expected output shows that this research can recognise the critical success factor of the EMA is important to the Malaysian electrical and electronics manufacturing industry. This study suggest that practitioners can also recognise that the implementation of EMA is important to the Malaysian electrical and electronics manufacturing industry
