A comparison of accuracy between indirect digital imaging and conventional radiography in measuring the distance from file tip to radiographic apex by means of CBCT
Background & Objective: Accurate working length determination of root canal is always considered by dentists. Radiographic techniques that commonly used in root canal therapy are periapical conventional techniques, but recently advanced techniques have been of great interest in recent decades. This study aimed to compare the accuracy between indirect digital imaging and conventional radiography in measuring the distance from file tip to radiographic apex by means of CBCT.
Methods: This experimental in vitro study conducted on 30 individuals molar teeth of the maxilla. After selection the teeth, cavity preparation, inserting K-file number 15 and mounting,CBCT and conventional and digital periapical (PSP) radiography has been taken of teeth. Then the values of the distance from file tip to radiographic apex which were obtained from tree methods, digital radiography, conventional radiography and CBCT were compared. Data analyses were performed using SPSS Ver.24.
Results: A significant difference was found between the distance from file tip to radiographic apex which is measured by conventional method and the CBCT(p<0.05).but there was no significant difference between the distance from file tip to radiographic apex which is measured by digital method and the CBCT. Also there was no significant difference between the distance from file tip to radiographic apex which is measured by digital method versus the conventional radiography.
Conclusion: Digital radiography had greater accuracy in estimating the distance from file tip to radiographic apex versus conventional radiography
Synthesis and Cytotoxic Effect of Novel N-heteroaryl Enamino Amides & Dihydropyrimidines against AGS and MCF-7 Cancer Cell Lines
Introduction and Goal
Cancer is an important disease that its prevalence has increased in the last century, which even in the province of Ardabil has a high prevalence some of its types, such as gastric cancer, which affects many people every year and has psychological, social and economic consequences. So treatment or control of this disease is priority. Today, various methods for controlling and treating cancer are used, most notably chemotherapy. Chemotherapy uses chemical molecules to control cancer. New studies have shown that enamino amides and dihydropyrimidine derivatives have the potential to develop into anticancer compounds. In this project, new derivatives of these two groups are synthesized and their toxicity measured on gastric and breast cancer cell lines.
Materials and Methods
In this project, first β-ketoamide precursors were synthesized by 2,2,6-Trimethyl-1,3-Dioxin -4-one and aromatic amines, and then, seven derivatives of enamino amide and two derivatives of dihydropyrimidine were synthesized and identified by spectroscopic methods of magnetic resonance of the proton, infrared, mass and further evaluated by cytotoxicity assay (MTT Assay) on AGS and MCF-7 cell lines.
Results
According to the results of NMR, FT-IR and MS identification tests, all of the synthesized structures were confirmed and cytotoxic screening test was conducted to evaluate the growth retardation and proliferation of cancer cells. The result showed that B2 derivatives had best effect on AGS and MCF-7 cell lines.
Discussion and conclusion
This study showed that dihydropyrimidine compounds were able to inhibit cancer cells much better than enamino amides. Heterocycle ring of the compounds is very important, and with the linearization, the strength of the compounds severely reduced, electron-rich rings, such as thiazole, increase the efficacy up to 2-fold
A Case Report of Crimean-Congo Hemorrhagic Fever in Ardabil
Introduction: Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever (CCHF) is a viral disease that is transmitted to
humans through the tick bite, contact with blood and tissues of infected animals in
slaughterhouses as well as infected patients in hospital. The mortality rate of CCHF is 20 - 50%.
Case Report: The patient was a 20-year-old man, an Iranian farmer, who lived in Ardabil County.
The epidemiologic survey showed that his right leg has been bitten by a tick in the past week. The
onset of the disease was a sudden high fever, chills and muscle pain. Molecular analysis of blood
by RT-PCR showed that it was positive for CCHF disease.
Conclusion: Clinical and epidemiological findings are the most important strategies for diagnosis
of CCHF disease
Prevalence of Autism and its Comorbidities and the Relationship with Maternal Psychopathology: A National Population-Based Study
Background: There is no clear picture regarding the prevalence rates of autism and its comorbidities among Iranian children and
adolescents. The present study aimed to estimate these rates as part of a large national population-based study on epidemiology of
psychiatric disorders in Iranian children and adolescents.
Methods: The total sample consisted of 31000 children and adolescents between 6 to 18 years of age. The Kiddie Schedule for
Affective Disorders and Schizophrenia for School-Age Present and Life time version (K-SADS-PL) was used as the diagnostic tool.
Results: The prevalence of autism in the total sample is equal to 0.1% (10 per 10000), with a 2:1 male-to-female ratio. In total,
86% of people with autism had at least one comorbid condition. Intellectual disability, epilepsy, enuresis and attention deficit and
hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) with prevalence rates of 70.3%, 29.7%, 27% and 21.62%, respectively, were the most prevalent
comorbid conditions in people with autism. Maternal personality disorders were also shown to be associated with increasing risk
of autism.
Conclusion: The present study shows high prevalence rates for autism and its comorbid conditions among Iranian children and
adolescents. It also reveals that there is a relationship between some maternal psychiatric disorders and the risk of autism.

yellow nail syndrome
A fifty-year old female presented to our clinic with the history of chronic cough. She was diagnosed with bronchiectasis since 30 years ago. Her symptoms were deteriorated recently. She reported yellowish discoloration of the fingernails and toenails for last 2 years with no response to antifungal treatments (figure 1). She noticed the slow grow of her fingernails since 4 years ago. There was also edema in the lower legs and both ankles since the last 6 months (figure 2). She was generally healthy with normal physical exam except for the edema. Considering the history of chronic cough, yellow nail, lower leg swelling with bilateral bronchiectasis (figure 3), she was diagnosed to have yellow nail syndrome. No related malignancies was detected.
Yellow nail syndrome is characterized by slow growing yellowish nails, lymphedema involving lower and upper limbs, pleural effusions, sinusitis, bronchiectasis and lower respiratory tract infections. It is usually diagnosed clinically and so far there is no known specific treatment (1,2). This syndrome is related to different malignancies and some immunodeficiency diseases (1) and one should consider these while evaluating the disease in order not to miss them

Comparison of the effect of three types of cements on the marginal adaption of all ceramic zirconia coping crowns in two different types of finishing line designs
Introduction:
Marginal integrity is an important characteristic in clinical long-term restoration succes, which is influenced by the finishing line design and the type of cement applied for cementation. So this study aimed to evaluate the marginal adaptation of zirconia coping ceramic crowns with two different finishing line designs cemented by three different types of cements.
Materials and Methods:
A Deep chamfer finishing line was designed on a maxillary second premolar, then trasformed into Shoulder. Two dies were milled using CAD/CAM system.21 impressions were made from each master die and poured. Then 21 zirconia copings were manufactured by CAD/CAM system from each master die. Then cemented by Glass ionomer,Zinc phosphate and Resin cement. Finally the marginal fit of 42 zirconia copings was evaluated using a Stereomicroscope in four points on each aspect (Buccal ,Palatal ,Mesial & Distal). The data were statistically analysed using ANOVA test.(P<0.05)
