Background & objectives: Anthropometric indices are one of the reliable criteria for assessing children's health status, since the mother's psychological characteristics and conditions can greatly affect the quality of her relationship with the child. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between maternal mental health and children's anthropometric indices in mothers and children referred to Ardabil health centers in 2015. Methods: This is a descriptive-analytic study of cross-sectional type. 117 mothers and their children (under 5 years old) referred to the health centers of the Ardabil city were selected by random sampling method. To collect the information needed from mothers, a demographic questionnaire and a GHQ-28 questionnaire were used. Children's anthropometric indices were used to collect the information about children. Data were analyzed by SPSS-16 software, using correlation analysis and independent t-test. Results: The results of this study showed that 59% of women were suspected of having mental problems which included social functioning problem (94.9%), anxiety (38.5%), physiological (41%) and depression (5.14%). Also, the means of weight and height indices of children were 37.84±31.31 and 39.57±32.17, respectively. The results of statistical analysis showed that 69.2% of children had a weight index of less than 50 and 61.5% had a height index of lower than 50. Also, statistical results showed the correlation only between the maternal somatization subscale with child weight (p<0.01). For others, no correlation was observed between the variables with the weight and height indices of the child. Conclusion: The data obtained from this study show that the mental health of mothers can play an important role in the growth and development of children. Therefore, health care providers' awareness of changes in women's mental health status is important for planning toward improving their mental health and the anthropometric indices of their children

abstract Along with considerable progress in medical science and increased life expectancy, issues such as comorbidity and polypharmacy emerged as health problem. Polypharmacy lead to enhanced chance of drug-drug interactions (DDIs), which cause economic burden and negative effect on patients compliance and length of hospital stay as well as patients morbidity and mortality.Since there are no acurate statistics on the incidence of such interactions and their correlation with patients demographic data such as age و sex و the number of medication used and … has not been investigated, in this study for first time we evaluate the prevalence of DDIs that can be an effective step in identifying medication errors and future planning to manage these cases in hospitals and health centers. Pharmacists role in detection and prevention of drug interaction reported in several previous work, in present study Data extracted from 600 hospital admitted patient equally from 4 different ward (cardiac, infectious, internal and ICU) in Imam Khomeini hospital in Ardebil. Iran. Types of DDIs (C, D and X) were detected using by Lexicomp drug interactions database and about type C interactions we only recorded the number of interactions, and about type D and X interactions in addition to the number of drugs, we also registered the name of two drugs that interacted in our designed check list. The mean age of patients was 61±17.48 . 58.5% of patients were male and 41.5% of them were female. The mean number of prescribed drugs for each patient was 11±3.7. In 600 studied patients, 5935 DDIs were identified, 84.1% of DDIs were from C class, 14% were from D class and 1.9% of them were from X class. At least one interaction was detected in N (94%) of patients, 6% of patients didn't have any interaction and 64% of patients had at least one serious DDI (D or X). The majority of type C interactions (1509) were in cardiac ward and the majority of type D and X interactions (280 and 37 ) were in ICU ward. The number of type C and D Interactions showed significant positive correlations with the age of patients and type X interaction didn’t show any correlation with the age. Also the number of potential Drug-Drug Interactions showed significant positive correlations with the number of prescribed drugs, and between sex and DDIs we didn’t have any significant correlation. In accordance with previous findings, our result showed high prevalence of drug interactions too, that presence of pharmacists in hospitals and medical centers can help to reduce and identify drug interactions

Bakground and objective: Mental health is an important index in people's life and has a significant impact on individuals' function and happinness in life. In general this index is influenced by several factors. Spiritual intelligence which is a new defined concept is an influential factor on mental health..life Satisfaction can also have a significant impact on mental health. In This study ,we investigate the effect of different factors such as Spiritual intelligence and life satisfaction on nurses' mental health score as a group affected by various stressors in personal and occupational life. Methods: The current study is a cross sectional and analytical descriptive one .In this study 351 nurses were selected through stratified random sampling. Demographic data and the answers to SCL-25, SWLS and king's spiritual intelligence questionnaire were gathered and analysed using SPSSv22 software. Results: Over 90% of the participants were women. The mean age of participants was 32/7±7/36 years. An average correlation was found between nurses' spiritual intelligence score and their mental health state (r=0/377; P<0/001). Also, there was an average correlation between nurses' life satisfaction and their mental health (r=0/302; P<0/001). Transcendent Consciousness was the most influetial subscale of spiritual intelligence which affected the mental health. Conclusions: Based on the finding of this study,it can be concluded that spiritual intelligence and life satisfaction have a significant impact on mantal health of nurses. also, death of spouse and separation were also influential factors on mantal health of nurses. However, the mantal health of nurses was not under the influence of their age, gender and ward of work. Considering the simultaneous impacts of spiritual intelligence and life satisfaction on mental health of nurses, it can be concluded that spiritual intelligence is the main influential variable on mental health and life satisfaction has not an independent effect on mental health. consequently, it is recommended to improve the mental health of nurses and provide better health care services, nursing managers should take the necessary measures to promote Spiritual intelligence

Synthesis, biological evaluation and molecular docking study of dihydropyrimidine derivatives as potential anticancer agents

    No full text
A series of dihydropyrimidine analogues were prepared via one‐pot Biginelli three‐component condensation reaction and characterized by NMR, FT‐IR, MS spectra, and element analysis. Subsequently, they were screened for in vitro anticancer effect. These analogues revealed good cytotoxic activity against three human cancer cell lines including MCF‐7, HepG‐2, and A549. Among these analogues, compounds 4d and 4h were the most potent against three cell lines. Cell viability assays indicated 4a and 4c had lower cytotoxicity. In vitro cytotoxicity study on all synthesized compounds demonstrated that introduction of electron withdrawing substituents on C4 position of phenyl ring of dihydropyrimidine contributed to the antiproliferative potency. Moreover, in silico molecular docking results stipulated a sign of good correlation between experimental activity and calculated binding affinity. It proved 4d and 4h as the strongest compounds. Binding modes of analogues proposed the involvement of hydrophobic interactions and hydrogen bonds with Eg5 active site. Structure activity relationship studies indicated that incorporating electron withdrawing substituents on C4 position of phenyl ring of dihydropyrimidine are important for this biological activity
