Why Ergonomic Backpack?
According to the statute of the World Health Organization (WHO), health is considered as an individual and social value, and one of the most obvious human rights and needs. The carriage of heavy schoolbags by children is a concern for all those involved in student health and well-being. Backpacks are the most commonly used type of bag, and overweight backpacks are associated with several health issues, including increased spinal curvature, discomfort, and back and shoulder pain while the majority of students were carrying as much as 30% to 40% of their body weight. In this way posture modifications have been reported when children carry a load that corresponds to more than 10% of their body .
In addition Items carried by students in their daily school bags have been found to include, but are not limited to books, pencil cases, scientific calculators, and sport-specific training clothing, lunch boxes and full water bottles. Even an empty backpack can distort posture and cause pain. There is no way to safely carry weight in a backpack, no matter how light the load, because it disrupts our body mechanics by design
Medullary thyroid cancer is associated with high serum vitamin D level and polymorphism of vitamin D receptors
Background: Thyroid cancer is the most common endocrine malignancy. Studies have observed an anticancer effect for vitamin D and found that polymorphisms of vitamin D receptors can influence the prevalence of various cancers. The present study investigated the serum level of vitamin D and FokI, BsmI and Tru9I polymorphisms of vitamin D receptors. Methods: Forty patients with medullary thyroid cancer and 40 healthy controls were investigated. The genomic DNA of the subjects was extracted using saturated salt/proteinase K and investigated by PCR sequencing. Serum levels of vitamin D were evaluated by ELISA. The results were analyzed in SPSS and GraphPad Prism 5 software. Results: The genotypic and allelic frequencies of FokI and BsmI polymorphisms showed no significant differences between test and control groups. For Tru9I polymorphism, Tt genotype and t allelic frequency in the test group were significantly different from those of the control group. Also, we found Tt genotype and t allelic frequency to be significantly associated with medullary thyroid cancer (MTC) type and the aggressiveness of the disease. The average serum vitamin D level was 23.32 ng/mL and 18.95 ng/mL for patients and controls, respectively, and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant. Moreover, we found high serum vitamin D level to be associated with t allelic frequency. Conclusions: Unexpectedly, the mean serum vitamin D level of the test group was significantly higher than that of the control group. Tru9I polymorphism was found to be significantly correlated with the prevalence of medullary thyroid carcinoma

Prevalence and Risk Factors of Urinary/Anal Incontinence and Pelvic Organ Prolapse in Healthy Middle-Aged Iranian Women
Objectives: Urinary incontinence (UI) and anal incontinence (AI) cause concern, social exclusion, and ultimately reduced quality of life in women. The aim of present study was to assess the prevalence and related risk factors of UI, AI, and pelvic organ prolapse (POP). Methods: The present study recruited 340 menopausal women living in Tabriz in northwest Iran. The data collection tools included the Pelvic Floor Distress Inventory-20 and a personal and social information questionnaire. POP was diagnosed via clinical examination using the simplified pelvic organ prolapse quantification system. Results: The prevalence of UI and POP was approximately 50%, and approximately 16% of participants reported AI. Based on the odds ratios, the most remarkable risk factor of urinary stress incontinence was the number of vaginal deliveries, whereas that of urinary urge incontinence was obesity. Episiotomy and age were the most major risk factors of AI and POP, respectively. Conclusions: The results of the present study showed that the prevalence of POP, UI, and AI is remarkably high among postmenopausal women, warranting the need to prioritize the assessment of POP and various incontinences in middle-aged women in the primary health care system. Furthermore, increased emphasis should be put on modifiable risk factors
Evaluation of frequency of supernumerary teeth found on x_ray examination during 2015_2019 in Ardabil
Introduction:
Supernumerary teeth may cause several cosmetic, functional and other clinical problems. Therefore, evaluation of its prevalence and also awareness regarding different types of supernumerary teeth would be important. In case of higher prevalence compared to other populations, dentists may propose preventive and therapeutic plans to spare patients from potential abnormalities that might happen in the future. This study was conducted to evaluate prevalence of supernumerary teeth in Ardabil, Iran.
Materials and methods:
In this retrospective descriptive study, we regular random investigated 5000 panoramic radiographs from patients whom were referred to Rad and Basser maxillofacial radiology clinics during 2015-2019. Data were collected using a checklist and were statistically analyzed by SPSS v. 21. Then, Chi square and Fisher tests and Independed T were carried out (p≤0. 05).
Results:
The prevalence of supernumerary teeth in our study was calculated as 1. 06%. There was no significant predilection in terms of gender. The most common supernumerary teeth in this study were distomolars (44. 1%), followed by para premolar (29. 4%), mesiodens (11. 8%), lateral incisors (7. 4%), paramolar (4. 4%) and canines (2.9%). Majority of supernumerary teeth were located on maxilla (73. 5%), were impacted (77. 9%) and unilateral (71. 7%). Majority of patients had only one supernumerary tooth.
Conclusion:
Early diagnosis and appropriate therapeutic plans to manage supernumerary teeth, especially if complicated, is essential. Given the higher prevalence of supernumerary teeth in this study compared to similar studies, the dentists in Ardabil should examine the patients for supernumerary teeth accurately, so with early diagnosis of ST they can prevent potential complications. Also, the most common supernumerary teeth in this study were distomolars which is different from previous similar studie
