    Assessment of the Achievement of Educational Objectives in Orthodontics Departments in Ardabil Faculty of Dentistry during 2020-2021

    Introduction: Curriculum assessment is one of the important processes in the educational process by which the clinical needs of students can be met. The aim of this study was to investigate the achievement of educational goals of the Department of Orthodontics, School of Dentistry, Ardabil University of Medical Sciences in 2020-2021. Materials & Methods: In this descriptive cross-sectional study, 59 final year students of the School of Dentistry of Ardabil University of Medical Sciences were studied online during the years 1300-1499. A researcher-made questionnaire was used to collect information; The first part of the questionnaire was about personal information such as: gender, entrance quota, interest in the field of study and teaching method. The second part of the researcher-made questionnaire was 60 questions. The obtained data were analyzed using SPSS 22 program. The achievement of educational goals with the variables of gender, entrance quota, interest in the field of study and teaching methods were evaluated. Chi-square test and Fisher's exact test were used. The confidence level of the tests was 95% (α <0.05). Results: The results showed that the rate of achievement of goals in theoretical orthodontics in seeing 53.71%; 99% hearing; Ability was 4.29% in excellent condition and 18.86% in good condition; And the rate of achievement of goals in practical orthodontics in seeing 64.64%; Doing 45.87%; Ability was excellent at 7.5% and good at 23.71%. The results also showed that there was a significant difference in the ability of students from their own point of view in terms of gender, entrance quota, interest in the field and teaching methods (P <0.05). Conclusion: General course training in Ardabil Dental School in relation to the orthodontics department, despite creating the necessary abilities in general course students, is still far from fully achieving the educational goals and needs some modification

    Relationship between resilience and professional moral courage among nurses

    Nurses need to be resilient to be able to endure their working conditions, and their moral courage can affect their resilience. This work aimed at studying the relationship between resilience and professional moral courage among nurses working in hospitals.This descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted on 375 nurses working in teaching hospitals in the city of Ardabil in Iran in 2019. Data was collected using the following questionnaires: a demographic questionnaire, Sekerka et al. Moral Courage Scale and Davidson-Connor Resilience Scale. The reliability of the Davidson-Connor Resilience Scale, and Moral Courage Scale were found to be 89% and 85% using the test-retest method. The data were analyzed by Pearson correlation coefficient, t-test, variance analysis, and linear regression using the SPSS software version 24.In participating nurses, mean scores were 6.35±0.5 for total moral courage (favorable) and 79.35±0.35 (moderate) for resilience, respectively. A positive and significant relationship was observed between resilience and professional moral courage (P<0.05, r=0.1). Given the positive and significant relationship between resilience and professional moral courage, nurses require to have the high moral courage to enhance their resilience. Determining factors affecting moral courage and resilience, as well as finding strategies and creating an appropriate moral climate can increase nurses' morally courageous behaviors and resilience

    Group A Streptococcus Antibiotic Resistance in Iranian Children: A Meta-analysis

    ABSTRACT Objectives: Streptococcus pyogenes is associated with mild to severe infections, particularly in children and young adults. Proper antimicrobial treatment of S. pyogenes infections is important to prevent post-streptococcal complications. Therefore, the purpose of this meta-analysis was to evaluate the prevalence of S. pyogenes antibiotic resistance among Iranian children. Methods: We identified all published studies up to 20 March 2019 related to S. pyogenes antibiotic resistance by searching Persian and English electronic databases. Search terms included S. pyogenes, children, and Iran. Out of 1022 publications, 12 articles were eligible and included based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results: Our analysis indicated the following prevalence pattern for S. pyogenes antimicrobial resistance in Iran: 4.2% to penicillin, 38.3% to amoxicillin, 5.4% to erythromycin, 12.0% to azithromycin, 12.6% to clarithromycin, 12.4% to clindamycin, 15.3% to rifampicin, 8.1% to ceftriaxone, 17.6% to cefixime, 36.9% to ampicillin, 14.1% to vancomycin, 8.4% to chloramphenicol, 30.4% to tetracycline, 8.8% to cefotaxime, 82.8% to trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole, 39.6% to gentamicin, 11.9% to ofloxacin, 28.3% to carbenicillin, 3.1% to ciprofloxacin, 6.1% to imipenem, 18.2% to cephalothin, 57.6% to tobramycin, 49.3% to kanamycin, 79.0% to cloxacillin, 12.9% to cephalexin, 10.7% to cefazolin, and 89.5% to amoxicillin-clavulanic acid. Conclusions: Our findings suggest penicillin (in non-allergic children) and macrolides, lincosamides, and narrow-spectrum cephalosporins (in penicillin-allergic children) as the treatments of choice in Iran

    Assessment of bulkfill resin based composites micro leakage in different cavity dimensions

    Introduction: the main problem of composites is polymerization shrinkage and micro leakage. Various ways to fix this problem have been suggested. The aim of this study was to asses the amount of micro leakage in cavities filled with bulkfill composite and conventional composite in different dimensions of cavity. Method and materials: In this in vitro study, 48 posterior extracted molar teeth were randomly divided into 6 groups. Three groups were repaired with Opus Bulk Fill APS and three groups with conventional composite (Llis). In each type of composite, three cavities with dimensions of 2, 4 and 6 mm (under groups) were filled. All cavities were prepared as ClV and in the form of circles with diameters of 2, 4 and 6 mm and a fixed depth of 4 mm. 37% phosphoric acid (MORVABON, Iran) was used for etching the samples by etch and rinse technique according to the manufacturer's instructions, and Ambar Universal APS (FGM, Brazil) was used for bonding. Then, for the cure, the DENTMATE LEDEX WL-070 light cure (Dentmate, Italy) with a power of 1000 watts was used for 40 seconds for groups filled with bulkFill composite and 40 seconds for each layer of conventional composite with incremental technique. The method of examining the microleakage was dye of fuschin 0.5%. Samples were observed by stereo microscope and the amount of microleakage in occlusal and cervical walls was examined according to ISO / TS1145: 2003 rating. Results: There was no significant difference in micro leakage between the two types of composites (P<.05). In both composites, the amount of micro leakage based on margin type was similar in different cavity dimensions (P<.05). In both composites, micro leakage levels were not significantly different based on the size of cavities at both occlusal and gingival edges (P<.05). Conclusion: The performance of balkfill composite was similar to conventional composite in terms of micro leakage and in different dimensions of cavity

    Exposure to BTEX concentration and the related health risk assessment in printing and copying centers

    This study was derived to investigation of BTEX (benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes) concentrations in printing and copying centers (PCCs) in Ardabil city of Iran. Fifty-three PCCs were randomly selected from all the 136 number of PCCs and BTEX was sampled form their indoor air. The results showed that the concentration of BTEX in the indoor air PCCs is lower than the OELs (occupational exposure limit) in all cases. The obtained mean concentrations of benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylene were 93.6±63.2, 150.6±99.2, 34.3±16.8, and 29.5±15.2 μg/m3 respectively. Type of printer, number of printing and copying device, and type of ventilation system had significant influence on the BTEX concentration. The mean inhalation lifetime cancer risk (LTCR) value for benzene and ethylbenzene in the indoor air of the PCCs with LaserJet and inkjet printers was 44.4 × 10−6 and 153.3 × 10−6, and 23.4×10−6 and 54.2× 10−6, respectively, which were higher than EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) and World Health Organization (WHO) recommended limits. The hazard quotient (HQ) of benzene in the indoor air of the PCCs with inkjet printers was >1, which indicates that the non-carcinogenic risks associated with exposure to these compounds are considerabl

    Background: The experience of workplace violence in health workers has been increasing. Since there is not enough study on workplace violence against medical students, we decided in this study to determine the prevalence of workplace violence against medical students of Ardabil University of Medical Sciences and its relationship with academic satisfaction and academic failure in the academic year 2019-20. Aim: To determine the prevalence of workplace violence against medical students of Ardabil University of Medical Sciences and its relationship with academic satisfaction and academic failure in the academic year 2019-20. Methods and material: This study was a cross-sectional-analytical study. The statistical population of the present study consisted of all intern and extern students who were studying in the teaching hospitals of Ardabil University of Medical Sciences in the academic year of 2019-2020. Among them, 300 people were randomly selected as a statistical sample who had spent at least one year in hospital fields. With written consent, they completed a modified questionnaire on workplace violence in health settings designed by the World Health Organization and an academic satisfaction questionnaire. Results: In the present study, 300 people were included in the study. The mean age of students was 24.94 years with a standard deviation of 2.12. Women were the dominant gender with 59.7%. Apprentices made up 51% and interns 49%. The majority of participants (84.3%) were single. Turks included the highest race with 87.7%. In our study, the rate of physical violence was 15.7% (47 people), psychological violence (verbal) was 53% (159 people), sexual violence was 1% (3 people) and racial harassment was 13% (39 people). Conclusion: In this study, we concluded that the level of violence against medical students is significant and there is no specific place to report violence. There is also no specific training program to prevent and control violence

    Background and Objective:The world health organization ( who ) defines health literacy as cognitive , social , and ability to achieve understanding and use information available to promote and maintain good health . The selection of students as the study population was done for two reasons: first, their age and education and second, they are a suitable model for healthy and healthy lifestyle in the society, especially students of medical sciences that are considered as template and promoter of public health. The purpose of this study was to compare health literacy among the students of the international university of medical sciences in Ardabil in 2019. Purpose: A comparative study of health literacy in the students of the Faculty of Health and the International Campus of Medical Sciences of the University of Medical Sciences The materials and work method: This study is a cross - sectional description of the cross - sectional description. The number of 140 students from the campus and 140 from the School of Health students were screened in a total number of 280. The sampling method is stratified random. In order to collect data from native tools, the assessment of adult health literacy of urban population of Iran was 65 to 18 years. The data collected through SPSS 21 and by applying the tests of the chi - two and Fisher tests were analyzed compared to the mean scores. Results: The transcripts of 280 students working in two faculties of International Campus and Health of Ardabil University of Medical Sciences were reviewed. Out of 140 campus students, 53 (37.85%) In medicine, 43 (30.72%) in dentistry and 44 (31.42%) They were involved in pharmacy. The students of the school of public health consisted of 140 students, of which 35 (25%) In environmental health, 37 (26.43%) Occupational health and 68 (48.57%) Public health was educated. Students of college under 22 years old38 (27.1%) In school of public health 93(66%) The person was under 21 years of age. Conclusion: the study showed that the students of these two faculties were significantly different in the level of health literacy. So that the level of students “health literacy was much higher. Meanwhile, there is a direct and meaningful relation between the increase of academic year level and level of health literacy among the students of college of pardis, so that with increasing the number of educational years in the fields of medicine, pharmacy and pharmacy, students “health literacy level can be considered

    Background: Cardiovascular diseases are one of the leading causes of death in most countries of the world. many factors such as blood pressure, hyperlipidemia, smoking and family history have been implicated in the development of coronary artery disease. Aim: the serum FABP-4 level increase in chronic inflamatory disease and Experimental evidence shows that FABP-4 plays an important role in lipid metabolism and increased atherosclerotic plaque formation. Therefore, in the present study, we intend to evaluate the levels of FABP-4 in patients with coronary artery disease with EFT in patients with AMI and SAP. Materials and Methods: This study is a case-control study and the sample size is 90 males. Three groups of 30 normal individuals, 30 patients with stable angina and 30 patients with AMI were selected from patients who referred to Imam Khomeini Hospital in Ardabil with the main complaint of chest pain. A checklist was completed for all subjects, including demographic and cardiovascular risk factors. Angiographic and echocardiographic informations were obtained for each patient and entered in a separate checklist. The severity of coronary artery stenosis is measured by the Gensini index. blood samples were taken from all participants in the 6cc study and serum FABP-4 levels were measured by ELISA method with existing commercial kits Results: The results of the present study showed that there was a close relationship between epicardial fat thickness and serum FABP-4 concentration in patients with AMI and SAP. Conclusion: We showed in the present study for the first time that elevated FABP4 levels were associated with epicardial fat thickness based on echocardiographic findings. results of the current study were elevated serum levels of FABP4 in patients with AMI and SAP compared to the control group, a positive significant association between FABP4 with Gensini score, CK-MB, Troponin T, WHR, WBC and FBS, and finally a negative significant relationship with LVEF (%).the results of the current study suggest that EFT, EAT, and FABP4 are associated with the process of atherosclerosis in patients with CA

    The Prevalence of Skeletal Disorders among high School Girl Students in Ardabil in 2019

    Background: Having a healthy human resource is the basis of growth and development of any society. Therefore, knowing the physical condition of students and providing appropriate solutions to eliminate possible abnormalities has great importance. Aim: To determine the prevalence of skeletal disorders among high-school girl students in ardabil in 2019. Methods and meterials: A total of 384 female students studying in high schools in Ardabil in the academic year 2019 were included in this study by cluster sampling. The research tools were plummet (guideline), matrix sheet, mirror box and the personal characteristics questionnaire. Data were analyzed by SPSS software, version 24. Results: Prevalence of postural disorders were as follows: uneven shoulders (51.6%), forward head (32.3%), lumbar lordosis (25.5%), kyphosis (24%), genu varum (10.2%), scoliosis (9.9%), flat feet (8.3%), hallux valgus (7.3%), genu valgum (3.6%), and flat back (3.1%). There was no significant relationship between students' body mass index status with any of the skeletal disorders. Conclusion: The results of the present study showed that the highest percentage of postural disorders among high -school girl students in Ardabil was related to uneven shoulders and the lowest percentage was related to flat back. Also, There was no significant relationship between students' body mass index status with any of the skeletal disorder
