Identification of the presence of hydrocarbons in clay sands using a machine learning algorithm, well logs and core fluorescence images
No full textEvaluating the presence of hydrocarbon in sands interbedded with clay laminations below the vertical resolution of resistivity logs is a complex task. Clays, being highly conductive, generate suppression of the resistivity logs, making water saturation calculated using the Archie equation high in otherwise potentially productive zones. Other models such as Poupon, Waxman-Smits or Simandoux require knowledge of the electrical properties of clays from laboratory measurements or calibration in thick end-member shales representative of the laminations. Recent advances in machine learning algorithms and the availability of image processing modules in Python suggest training borehole logs to recognize variations in ultraviolet (UV) fluorescence core images as a promising way to recognize the presence of hydrocarbons in complex reservoirs. In this paper, we propose a new method based on Machine Learning, analogous to the use of facial recognition algorithms, to predict the complex relationship between the presence of hydrocarbon in laminated sands and basic well log measurements without using any explicit analytical expressions.La evaluación de la presencia de hidrocarburos en arenas con intercalaciones de arcilla por debajo de la resolución vertical de los registros de resistividad es una tarea difícil. Las arcillas al ser altamente conductivas generan supresión de los registros de resistividad haciendo que la saturación de agua calculada a través del modelo de Archie sea mayor a la existente en zonas altamente productivas. Otros modelos como Poupon, Waxman-Smits o Simandoux requieren de conocimiento de propiedades eléctricas de las arcillas a través de medidas de laboratorio o calibración en arcillas gruesas y representativas de las laminaciones. Avances recientes en algoritmos de Machine Learning y la disponibilidad de módulos de procesamiento de imágenes en Python, sugieren el entrenamiento de registros de pozo para reconocer variaciones en imágenes de fluorescencia ultravioleta (UV) como una promisoria forma de reconocer la presencia de hidrocarburos en yacimientos complejos. En este trabajo, se propone un nuevo método basado en Machine Learning, el cual es análogo al uso de algoritmos de reconocimiento facial, para predecir la compleja relación existente entre la presencia de hidrocarburos en arenas laminadas y medidas básicas de registro de pozo sin utilizar expresiones analíticas explícitas

No full textThis project focuses on the approach of bioarchitecture in a desert context of northern Colombian La Guajira, specifically in the municipality of Manaure, where the Wayuu community has its most important settlement allowing to identify a series of problems related to the economy, public services, housing and its quality and nutritional health in these communities. Taking into account the above, an eco-habitat is proposed that covers social, productive, housing and tourism issues, implementing local materials that are easy to obtain and non-polluting, allowing the manufacture of this project with quality and sustainable design as the main pattern that respects and is inclusive with the cosmological beliefs of this culture.Este proyecto se enfoca en el planteamiento de la bioarquitectura en un contexto desértico del norte de La Guajira colombiana, específicamente en el municipio de Manaure, donde la comunidad wayuu tiene su asentamiento más importante permitiendo así identificar una serie de problemáticas relacionadas con la economía, los servicios públicos, la vivienda y su calidad y la salud nutricional en estas comunidades. Teniendo en cuenta lo anterior se plantea un eco hábitat que abarca temas sociales, productivos, habitacionales y turísticos, implementando materiales locales de fácil obtención y no contaminantes que permitan la fabricación de dicho proyecto teniendo la calidad y el diseño sostenible como patrón principal que respete y sea inclusivo con las creencias cosmológicas propias de esta cultura
Proposal for a plan to improve the functioning of the PTAR used in the adequacy of the waste generated by the gastronomic establishments of Centro Mayor Centro Comercial
No full textIn this work an improvement is proposed for the WWTP Morado 8 of the Centro Mayor Centro Comercial, which treats 39.6 m3 / day of the 46 gastronomic establishments. A characterization of the treatment train was made, which consists of a grease trap, a homogenizing tank, a DAF, two sand filters and a carbon one. For the diagnosis, an analysis of the samplings was carried out, from October 2018-December 2020, the comparative matrix was elaborated that relates the most restrictive value between resolutions 3957-2009, 0631-2015 and 1207-2014 with the historical average; Out-of-norm parameters were identified and a preliminary analysis was performed. Sampling was carried out to determine the removal percentages.En este trabajo se plantea una mejora para la PTAR Morado 8 de Centro Mayor Centro Comercial, la cual trata 39,6 m3/día de los 46 establecimientos gastronómicos. Se hizo una caracterización del tren de tratamiento, el cual consta de una trampa de grasas, un tanque homogeneizador, un DAF, dos filtros de arena y uno de carbón. Para el diagnóstico se realizó un análisis de los muestreos, desde octubre del 2018-diciembre del 2020, se elaboró la matriz comparativa que relaciona el valor más restrictivo entre las resoluciones 3957-2009, 0631-2015 y 1207- 2014 con el promedio histórico; se identificaron los parámetros fuera de norma y se realizó un análisis preliminar. No full textThe current situation of medicine shows invasive and synthetic procedures to treat diseases, forgetting about the origins which are based on practices, knowledge and beliefs based on plants, animals and / or minerals that our ancestors used and offer equally effective alternatives to those used by clinical medicine. The question arises: Is it possible to treat and cure diseases, through sensations, materials and the landscape? The thesis raises an answer where by means of a building that gives an alternative to the raised situation. The project is the traditional Unit for the care and ancestral recovery located in San José del Guaviare. It is called Curaca, which means traditional doctor in the ethnic groups of the region. It is resolved through the traditional indigenous medicine of the territory, based on the concept of the perceptual landscape, using the strategy of the garden and the users, a building that heals is designed, where through the journey and the sensations the care and recovery from illness.La situación actual de la medicina muestra procedimientos invasivos y sintéticos para tratar las enfermedades, olvidándose de los orígenes los cuales se fundamentan en prácticas, conocimientos y creencias basadas en plantas, animales y/o minerales que usaban nuestros ancestros y ofrecen alternativas igual de efectivas a las que usa la medicina clínica. Surge la pregunta ¿Es posible tratar y curar las enfermedades, por medio de las sensaciones, los materiales y el paisaje? One of the problems that reduce the performance of this system and increase operating costs is the deterioration of the Electric Submersible pump due to emulsions used to prevent the separation of water and oil; therefore, Fluid viscosity increases causing the pump to work above the allowed range and decrease the production of the well.El bombeo electrosumergible es un mecanismo de levantamiento artificial optimo y económico para la obtención de grandes cantidades de fluido que se derivan desde grandes profundidades, además de tener la capacidad de trabajar a diferentes condiciones de operación. Uno de los problemas que disminuyen el rendimiento de este sistema y aumentan los costos operativos es el deterioro de la bomba electrosumergible a causa de emulsiones que evitan la separación del agua y el crudo; por ende, aumentan la viscosidad del fluido provocando que la bomba trabaje por encima del rango permitido y disminuya la producción del pozo
