Éric-Emmanuel Schmitt is a humanist and popular author whose oeuvre stands out for the ethical issues it raises on universal and topical themes. The corpus of his writings includes a paratextual section on the work of the writer, his narrative strategies and experiences. The author’s techniques of imaginative empathy are studied through the prism of Suzanne Keen’s theory and the concept of narrative empathy, with the aim of identifying the dominant representations and mechanisms of empathy in Schmitt’s work. Examples of narrative devices and strategies relating to his empathetic poetics are analyzed. The emergence of a particular form of auctorial empathy based on homage – the intertextual empathy – is explored in relation to Schmitt’s position of filiation with his models
Vlagyimir Putyin 2022. február 24-i beszédének tartalomelemzése : a fenyegetettség aspektusa
On 24 February 2022, at 6:00 Moscow time, V. V. Putin, President of the Russian Federation, addressed the citizens of his country in an extraordinary televised speech. In a key paragraph of the speech, he declared, what he called, a „special military operation”. While the Russian state and the state-controlled media talk about a „special military operation” and the necessary protection of the Russian-speaking population, the Western and all secular press talk about an open attack on Ukraine, a war, the most severe crisis, and humanitarian catastrophe of the 21st century. Te hypothesis is that the issue of threat is prominent in the presidential speech and those concrete threats can be identifed. I seek to answer the question: what does threat mean to President Putin - as opposed to security? And what does he think threatens Russia? Are there perhaps transitions, or degrees, between the diferent threats? As a prelude to the Study, I examined the identity of Russia in President Putin’s original speech in Russian, using ATLAS.ti qualitative data analysis sofware. I found 41 frst person plural possessive pronouns, all of which were characterised by security and threat. Te Study deals with 32 results from the threat group of frst person plural possessive pronouns. Te Paper also touches on the issues of language, political language and identity in its content analysis. In addition, it explains the emergence of in-group, out-group groups, the characteristics of political discourse or the creation of the image of the enemy
Jean-Jacques Rousseau gondolkodásmódja, avagy a világról alkotott ideálképe
Jean-Jacques Rousseau (1712-1778) was a philosopher, writer, composer and one of the most important fgures of the Enlightenment. He was a major infuence on the French Revolution and the post-Revolutionary period. Who exactly was Jean-Jacques Rousseau? What were his most important works? What was his individual vision of the world around him? What educational methods did he develop? What did the ideal world Rousseau imagined look like? Rousseau’s ideas were interesting, since they did not always coincide with those of other prominent fgures of the time. He was one of the elemental personalities of his time, born of a rebellion against the ideas of the Enlightenment. Voltaire was one of the antipodes of the age, Rousseau the other. Voltaire was a representative of reason and unassailable rationality, while Rousseau was a prominent representative of natural inclinations and emotion. With this in mind, he imagined what the ideal society, politics, law, education or pedagogical views would be. Jean-Jacques Rousseau was fundamental to the Enlightenment. Sometimes (most of the time) he disagreed with the ideas of the time. His genius can be traced through his actions and his work. In fact, it was in this way that he was able to have a great infuence on his own and later eras. How was he able to create something so revolutionary? His individual refections were understood by few. Te world he imagined was almost fairytale-like. Rousseau lived only 66 years. In that time, he lived through a lot (an adventurous life with many twists and turns). In retrospect, it is perhaps not too much to use the analogy of his life as a lost man searching for the answer to the question: What is his purpose here on this earth? Reading his work, I have also had this thought. I think it was through his application to the Dijon Academy that he understood exactly what his purpose in this world was, what he was meant to do. Tere is a close link between realising his purpose and becoming famous. Trough his adventurous life, he has been able to create a legacy that can serve as a lesson for posterity
