Recovery After the Covid-19 Pandemic: the Case of Peruvian Tourism
Get PDFThe situation Peru is facing with the global COVID-19 pandemic and the economic recession during this 2020 constitutes the worst crisis over the last 100 years. This economic recession has not happened since the crisis of 1980. GPD may decline by 15 % this year. Also, the perspective on global economy is terrible and a sharp contraction of global GDP is expected. On the other hand, the period between 2020 and 2021 will be considered as years of economic development lost. Specifically, receptive tourism in Peru is in danger of extinction because of the pandemic. Activity in the tourism market, which gives employment to 1.4 million people who are mainly women, is in total collapse. This article aims to make a proposal to help tourism sales recover their position as the most important section of service exports in Peru. The proposal is intended to encourage a non-traditional form of tourism in the tropical coast of the north of the country that should complement the traditional archeological tourism. The conclusions make emphasis on the fact that, at present, Peru is not exploiting its historical richness or using its comparative advantage in tourism, which could become a leading sector of domestic economy. Conductas parentales y habilidades sociales en estudiantes de educación secundaria del Callao
Get PDFThe purpose of the study is to establish the relationship between the perception of parental behaviors and social skills in a sample of 280 students, between 11 and 14 years, of a State Educational Institution of the Constitutional Province of Callao. There is a direct relationship between the adolescents' perception of the positive parenting practices of the father and the mother with the presence of social skills. The result of the study is due to social desirability, where adolescents seek to transmit a culturally acceptable image and avoid criticism. The implications of the results are discussed in terms of the objectives set, the social reality and the cultural reality of our country.El estudio tiene como propósito establecer la relación entre la percepción de las conductas parentales y las habilidades sociales en una muestra de 280 estudiantes, entre 11 y 14 años, de una Institución Educativa Estatal de la Provincia Constitucional del Callao. Se evidencia una relación directa entre la percepción de los adolescentes de las prácticas parentales positivas del padre y la madre con la presencia de habilidades sociales. El resultado del estudio se debe a la deseabilidad social, donde los adolescentes buscan transmitir una imagen culturalmente aceptable y evitar la crítica. Las implicancias de los resultados son discutidas en función de los objetivos planteados, de la realidad social y la realidad cultural de nuestro país
Relación Universidad - Comunidad: expresión de responsabilidad social de sus protagonistas.
Get PDFThe vision of universities in the field of social responsibility has made it a reference institution in the community, promoting relationships, alliances and dialogues of knowledge, blurred of traditional notions that accentuate the exclusive role of inward training of the university grounds. From this analysis perspective, it is about assuming the university-community link as a support for the integral formation of the student and articulating axis of their substantive processes. Given the recognition of this transcendent relationship, the article aims to carry out a conceptual review and critical analysis of the university-community nexus, expression of social responsibility of its protagonists, with the use of the historical-logical method and the help of documentary analysis. The findings aim to highlight the university-community link as scenarios par excellence in the comprehensive training of professionals, citizens and people committed to the sustainable development of the community environment.La visión de las universidades en el ámbito de la responsabilidad social, la ha convertido en una institución de referencia en la comunidad, propiciadora de relaciones, alianzas y diálogos de saberes, desdibujados de las nociones tradicionales que acentúan el rol exclusivo de formación hacia el interior de los predios universitarios. Desde esta perspectiva de análisis, se trata de asumir el vínculo universidad – comunidad como soporte de la formación integral del estudiante y eje articulador de sus procesos sustantivos. Ante el reconocimiento de esta trascendente relación, el artículo se orienta a realizar una revisión conceptual y análisis crítico del nexo universidad – comunidad, expresión de responsabilidad social de sus protagonistas, con el empleo del método histórico - lógico y el auxilio del análisis documental. Los hallazgos apuntan a resaltar el vínculo universidad –comunidad como escenarios por excelencia en la formación integral de profesionales, ciudadanos y personas comprometidas con el desarrollo sostenible del entorno comunitario
Engagement e Inteligencia emocional en estudiantes de una universidad privada en la ciudad de Arequipa
Get PDFThe objective of this study was to determine the relationship between engagement and emotional intelligence in male and female students of a private university in Arequipa. For this, a sample of 246 students of the first semester (117 women and 129 men) was taken. Two instruments were applied: the EQI Bar-On (Emotional Quotient Inventory) test adapted by Ugarriza and Pajares and the Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES-9) adapted by Schaufeli and Bakker. The design is of a non-experimental type of relationallevel. The results indicate that the average emotional intelligence obtained in the students was 77.04, out of 120 possible points. Regarding the engagement variable, an average of 51.09 was reached, with a maximum of 68 points. Regarding the correlationsof the engagement variable with the components of the emotional intelligence variable and with the same emotional intelligence variable stratified by sexes, it is observed that in women there is a relationship between engagment and interpersonal, intrapersonal, adaptability, impression components. and with the variable emotional intelligence, while in men the correlations range from .383 to .202.El objetivo del presente estudio fue determinar la relación entre el engagement y la inteligencia emocional en estudiantes hombres y estudiantes mujeres de una universidad privada en Arequipa. Para ello se tomó una muestra de 246 alumnos del primer semestre (117 mujeres y 129 hombres). Se aplicaron dos instrumentos: el test EQI Bar-On (Emotional Quotient Inventory), adaptado por Ugarriza y Pajares, y el Utrecht Work Engagement Scale (UWES-9), adaptado por Schaufeli y Bakker. El diseño es de tipo no experimental de nivel relacional. Los resultados indican que el promedio de inteligencia emocional obtenido en los estudiantes fue de 77,04, de 120 puntos posibles. En cuanto a la variable de engagement se alcanzó un promedio de 51.09, de 68 puntos como máximo. En cuanto a las correlaciones de la variable engagement con los componentes de la variable inteligencia emocional y con la misma variable inteligencia emocional estratificada por sexos, se observa que en las mujeres existe relación entre el engagment y los componentes interpersonales, intrapersonales, de adaptabilidad, de impresión y con la variable inteligencia emocional, en tanto que en los varones las correlaciones van desde .383 hasta .202
Mundos virtuales y el aprendizaje inmersivo en educación superior
Get PDFToday's society has become a constant swing of changes in every aspect of life; academic, economic, cultural, political, among others. The changes have been generated with the insertion of technology in daily activities, where learning is not exempt from these changes. According to Negroponte (1995), when science meets technology, it produces significant changes in our lives, as well as the way we understand reality. Today the knowledge society is empowered by technology and by the creation of new and diverse ways of interacting as people; the virtual worlds that are a graphic representation of the reality designed in 3D, is one of them. Second Life is one of these virtual worlds, becoming a site of mere entertainment and social life on the web, to be established in an environment that fosters creativity, collaborative work, business vision, the development of technological skills, the development of experiences of learning in 3D environments, among other aspects. Likewise, immersive learning enables interaction in three-dimensional environments. There the activities are carried out within an artificially constructed world which resembles reality, this allows us to build learning through the person's own experiences in interaction with the environment and the experiences among the users of this virtual world. For this reason, the use of the Second World virtual world is proposed as a training tool in immersive learning.La sociedad actual se ha convertido en un oscilar constante de cambios en cada aspecto de la vida; académico, económico, cultural, político, entre otros. Los cambios se han generado con la inserción de tecnología en las actividades diarias, donde el aprendizaje no queda exento a estos cambios. Según Negroponte (1995), cuando la ciencia se une con la tecnología esta produce cambios significativos en nuestra vida, así como la forma como entendemos la realidad. Hoy la sociedad del conocimiento está potenciada por la tecnología y por la creación de nuevas y diversas formas de interactuar como personas; los mundos virtuales que son una representación gráfica de la realidad diseñada en 3D, es una de ellas. Second Life es uno de estos mundos virtuales, convirtiéndose de un sitio de mero entretenimiento y vida social en la web, a establecerse en ambiente que fomenta la creatividad, el trabajo colaborativo, la visión empresarial, el desarrollo de habilidades tecnológicas, el desarrollo de experiencias de aprendizaje en entornos 3D, entre otros aspectos. Asimismo, el aprendizaje inmersivo posibilita la interacción en ambientes tridimensionales. Allí las actividades se realizan dentro de un mundo construido artificialmente el cual asemeja la realidad, esto permite construir el aprendizaje a través de las experiencias propias que tenga la persona en interacción con el entorno y las experiencias entre los usuarios de este mundo virtual. Por tal razón, se propone el uso del mundo virtual Second Life como una herramienta formativa en el aprendizaje inmersivo
La productividad académica en las instituciones de educación superior en México: de la teoría a la práctica
Get PDFProductivity is one of the basic concepts of economic sciences, is well-known as a relationship between supplies (inputs) and products (outputs), generally associated with goods-producing organizations. However, the new economy, supported by the tertiary sector has its main strength in those knowledge-based service organizations (SBC) such as education, where productivity becomes more complex to explain. The purpose of this document is to provide an overview of the divergency about the concept of academic productivity in higher education institutions in Mexico, through a theoretical and empirical documentary review. Academic productivity in Mexico is linked to four activities carried out by full-time teachers: teaching, tutoring, academic management and knowledge generation and application, the latter according to the Program for the Professional Development of Teachers in Higher Education. As a result in empirical evidence, not just for Mexico, shows how academic productivity is limited to studying activities related to the generation and application of knowledge, on the other hand, few incorporate teaching and none to tutoring and academic management. The document shows how academic productivity is not conceptually defined, nor normatively; as a result of itan objective assessment between institutions, countries or regions cannot be established.La productividad es uno de los conceptos básicos de las ciencias económicas, entendido en los términos más simples como una relación entre los insumos (inputs) y los productos (outputs), asociada generalmente a las organizaciones productoras de bienes. Sin embargo, la nueva economía, apoyada en el sector terciario, tiene su principal fortaleza en aquellas organizaciones de servicios basados en conocimiento (SBC), como es la educación, en donde la productividad se torna en algo más complejo de explicar. Es por ello que la finalidad del presente documento es argumentar sobre la inconsistencia del concepto de productividad académica en las instituciones de educación superior en México, a través de una revisión documental teórica y empírica. La productividad académica en el caso de México, está vinculada a cuatro actividades que realizan los profesores de tiempo completo: docencia, tutoría, gestión académica y generación y aplicación del conocimiento, esto último de acuerdo al Programa para el Desarrollo Profesional Docente en Educación Superior. La evidencia empírica, tanto para México como a nivel internacional, muestra como la productividad académica se limita a estudiar las actividades relacionadas con la generación y aplicación del conocimiento, pocos incluyen docencia y prácticamente ninguno a la tutoría y gestión académica. El documento evidencia como la productividad académica no está definida conceptual, ni normativamente, de tal forma que no se puede establecer una valoración objetiva entre instituciones, países o regiones

Get PDFThis article deals with the analysis of the factors influencing the formation of communicative and pragmatic competence in the process of teaching foreign students of the Faculty of Philology, Department of Russian Phraseology. The authors prove that the system of training future teachers of Russian has no sections and courses aimed at the formation of communicative and pragmatic competence in Russian phraseology. The study of the assimilation of phraseological units was carried out in several stages. The first is related to the definition of the level of knowledge of the phraseological system of the Russian language. The second is the level of understanding of certain phraseological units by philology students. The third is the ability to express an evaluative attitude towards someone using phraseological units. The fourth is related to the ability to use phraseological units when evaluating something, any event, phenomena.Este artículo aborda el análisis de los factores que influyen en la formación de la competencia comunicativa y pragmática en el proceso de enseñanza de estudiantes extranjeros de la Facultad de Filología del Departamento de Fraseología Rusa. Los autores demuestran que el sistema de formación de futuros profesores de ruso no tiene secciones y cursos destinados a la formación de competencias comunicativas y pragmáticas en la fraseología rusa. El estudio de la asimilación de unidades fraseológicas se realizó en varias etapas. El primero está relacionado con la definición del nivel de conocimiento del sistema fraseológico de la lengua rusa. El segundo es el nivelde comprensión de ciertas unidades fraseológicas por parte de los estudiantes de filología. El tercero es la capacidad de expresar una actitud evaluativa hacia alguien usando unidades fraseológicas. La filmación de clase en contexto de colegialidad: estrategia que favorece los procesos reflexivos respecto de la práctica pedagógica
Get PDFIn recent decades, the reflection on the teaching practices has been considered as an important means among the teacher trainers. Nevertheless, chilean research note that the universities of this country have not achieved that students of Teaching Programs may develop reflections on their pedagogical procedures systematically. This situation is no far from the reality of students of Pedagogía Media en Ciencias Naturales y Biología from Universidad Católica de Temuco. They achieve only in some cases, and intuitively, reflections that may help them improve their performance. The purpose of this research is to strengthen the levels of students’ reflection. In this context, the investigation is a qualitative one with a unique case study design. It points to the relevance of the use of class filming as a strategy which favors reflective processes on the pedagogical practice in collegiate contexts. It concludes that the participants appreciate the strategy of class filming, given that it favors the self assessment of their performance. Likewise, a mobility of the levels of reflection from the descriptive to the critic one, is shown. Nevertheless, it is important to highlight that the mobility depends on the time the participants spend on the reflective process.En las últimas décadas, la reflexión respecto de las prácticas profesionales docentes ha sido considerada como un medio de desarrollo importante entre los formadores de profesores. Sin embargo, investigaciones chilenas dan cuenta que las universidades de este país no han logrado que los estudiantes de pedagogía desarrollen sistemáticamente reflexiones en relación a su quehacer docente. Esta situación no se aleja de la realidad que viven los estudiantes de la carrera de Pedagogía Media en Ciencias Naturales y Biología de la Universidad Católica de Temuco. Estos logran solo en algunos casos, y de forma intuitiva, reflexiones para la mejora de su mejorar desempeño. El propósito de esta investigación es fortalecer los niveles de reflexión de estudiantes de pedagogía. En este contexto, la investigación es cualitativa con diseño de estudio de caso único y evidenció la relevancia de la utilización de filmaciones de clase como estrategia que favorece procesos reflexivos sobre la práctica pedagógica en contextos de colegialidad. Se concluyó que los participantes valoran la estrategia de filmación de clase dado que favorece la autoevaluación del desempeño. Asimismo, se observó una movilización de los niveles de reflexión de la práctica pedagógica desde el nivel descriptivo al crítico; sin embargo, cabe destacar que se genera la movilización señalada dependiendo del tiempo que destinen los participantes al proceso reflexivo

The need for a socio-emotional education that promotes people's commitment to their geographical socio-partner environment. It is further concluded that human well-being must be confronted from a multidimensional view, where the different spheres involving human development contribute to promoting community life.Se presenta una reflexión respecto al comportamiento de las personas en tiempos de crisis. En este contexto, se aborda brevemente la importancia de cambiar la utilización del concepto de salud tradicional por el de bienestar como parte del desarrollo de una conciencia comunitaria y de una mirada global del ser humano. Lo necesario de una educación socioemocional que favorezca el compromiso de las personas con su entorno socio geográfico. Se concluye, además, que el bienestar humano debe ser enfrentado desde una mirada multidimensional, donde las diferentes esferas que involucran el desarrollo del ser humano contribuyan a favorecer la vida en comunidad
