This study was conducted to investigate the effect of institutional ownership on accounting quality and cost of capital. This research is quasi-experimental in the field of positive accounting research and based on real information in the financial statements of companies. It is also of correlational type and, it is a descriptive (comparative / analytical) research in terms of data collection method. The research methodology is post-event due to the use of historical information in terms of time, and because it can be used in the process of using information and can be used in practice, it is a kind of applied research. The statistical population of the present study includes all companies listed on the Tehran Stock Exchange, with the exception of banks and financial and credit institutions, investment companies, financial intermediaries, holding companies and leasing companies (which have different financial structure and management principles than other companies). The information of these companies for the 7-year period from 2011 to 2017 has been studied. In order to examine the relationship between institutional ownership and quality of accounting information and cost of capital debt and to examine the moderating role of institutional ownership in the relationship between quality of accounting information and cost of capital debt, regression analysis was presented. Also, in the regression analysis, the generalized regression model was fit, and the coefficients of regression variables were estimated. In addition, the test of zero regression coefficients for the significance of the model and each of the variables was performed. The test results of the research hypotheses showed that there is a significant relationship between institutional ownership and quality of accounting information and cost of capital debt, but institutional ownership has not been able to moderate the relationship between quality of accounting information and cost of capital debt

Linguistic Means of Homeland Characterization in M. A. Asturias’s Mister President

    Get PDF
The present research is devoted to the concept ‘patria’ (homeland) analysis in the Nobel Prize-winning Guatemalan writer Miguel Angel Asturias’s novel El señor presidente (Mister President). The verbalizations of the studied concept in the novel are counted and their linguistic context is analysed. The totalitarian society described by the writer is not fully fictional. The dictatorship of Estrada Cabrera, though unnamed in the novel, is depicted. The linguistic realization of the studied concept is based on two groups of antithesis. The perception of homeland by real patriots, who are now considered the traitors of their homeland, and that of the people, who conform to the current conditions, but it is obvious that they are the ones who are ready to betray. The second antithesis is the fear of the president and calling the president the honoured citizen, the father and the defender of the homeland. The analysis of the linguistic means used to verbalize the concept ‘homeland’ in the studied novel shows that the said concept can be used by a totalitarian society as a tool of manipulation. Further analysis of the concept ‘homeland’ in other literary works by the authors writing in Spanish and belonging to different Hispanic countries will reveal the linguistic differences of the national variants of Spanish

The relevance of the problem under study is due to the need to modernize the professional training of future teachers in the context of the implementation of the competence approach. One of the most effective methods for improving the training of a modern teacher is his subject and methodological training. In modern times, competitive teachers are in demand, possessing the necessary and sufficient types of professional activity, a high level of pedagogical culture. In the process of studying the formation of pedagogical culture, there was an elected teacher of mathematics. In the focus of the problems of the formation of the pedagogical culture of the future teacher, the problems of the formation of the pedagogical culture in the context of the implementation of the competence approach, associated with the specificity of the formation of the pedagogical culture of the teacher of mathematics, remain insufficiently studied. The article shows the content of the structural components of the teacher's pedagogical culture, developed and implemented the conditions for the formation of the pedagogical culture of the future mathematics teacher in the context of the competence approach. The leading research technologies are metacognitive technologies of a reflexive character with the means of information and communication technologies. The following methods were used in the study: theoretical (analysis of philosophical, psychological and pedagogical literature on the problem of research, study of mass and generalization of advanced pedagogical experience, pedagogical modeling), empirical (pedagogical observation, conversation, questionnaire, interviewing, testing). The materials of the article can be useful to future mathematics teachers, graduate students, teachers of higher educational institutions interested in the formation of teacher's pedagogical culture, and professional training of subject specialists

Background: The relevance of developing mental activity for mastering geometric concepts relates to the change in paradigmatic foundations taking place in modern education. Such a change is associated with the recognition of a schoolchild as a subject of educational and cognitive activity, the initiator of own activity. Objective: The authors attempted to describe a model of a didactic system for developing active usage of geometric concepts in the process of teaching geometry to mathematically gifted schoolchildren in 10-11 grades. The authors also used the GeoGebra dynamic system as a component of the electronic educational environment (EEE). The objective is achieved by characterizing the architecture of the system model, which evokes active usage of geometric concepts within schoolchildren in learning situations; substantiating psychodidactic conditions for the effective development of this activity using the GeoGebra dynamic system; and defining levels, criteria, and indicators of development. Methods: A specially organized educational activity in EEE and a developed system of tasks within the framework of the elective course “Problems of solid geometry and computer graphics” for 10-11 graders represent a didactic means of developing the activities related to figurative-spatial methods of information coding. Findings: The authors described a didactic system model for mastering geometric concepts in figurative structures in the process of teaching geometry to 10-11 graders using the GeoGebra dynamic system. Conclusions: Fostering schoolchildren’ mastering geometric concepts in figurative structures occurs under the direct influence of teaching. However, this process is complex and internally contradictory. The structure of this kind of activity contains actions of different nature

The article relevance. Currently, the world is rapidly undergoing the process of Informatization of all aspects of society, the development and introduction of new information technologies. This highlights the need for further reflection and research on the development of the Internet and its opening opportunities for people. The aim of the research is to study the peculiarities of the attitude of students to search and recommendation services on the Internet. Research methods: as a research method, we used a questionnaire survey as a method of collecting primary information, which allows us to identify various aspects related to the attitude of students to search and recommendation systems on the Internet. Research results: the article examines the specifics of Russian search and recommendation systems, students' attitude to these services, and their place in their lives. The novelty and originality of the research lies in the fact that for the first time the search and recommendation services of the Internet space were studied. It is shown that these services were initially developed in the sphere of culture and gradually began to spread to other spheres of people's life, which attracted e-Commerce figures. It is revealed that those students who discovered search and recommendation services a few years ago still use them to choose leisure activities. It is shown that students still identify some disadvantages of these systems: inaccurate recommendations, a large number of questions to determine preferences. There is some distrust to new Internet technologies among those who are used to relying on their intuition when choosing. It is determined that students often use search and recommendation services, since in most cases gadgets help them spend their free time, have fun: read a book, watch a movie, listen to music. It is revealed that the majority of students trust Internet services, although they are not always satisfied with the recommendations. It is shown that the level of student-user confidence in traditional advertising and marketing decreases simultaneously. It is determined that from the point of view of students, today not only printed versions of Newspapers, traditional radio, but even mass broadcast television are losing ground before the Internet as the most promising communication channel. Practical significance: the data Obtained in this work can be used in marketing research, economic Sciences, advertising psychology, as well as for further theoretical development of this issue

The importance of balance is considerably high in many sports that require struggle and close contact such as wrestling. Some losses in maintaining the balance due to the movements requiring high intensity during competitions and increase in the risk of injury due to these losses may occur in wrestling athletes. The aim of this study is to Increase the educational level of elite female wrestlers by examining the relationship between Functional Movement Screening Test Scores and static balance performance scores of elite young female wrestlers. 19 elite female wrestlers having average age of 22.94 ± 2.67 years, body weight 61.63 ± 7.25 kg, height 165.37 ± 5.17 cm and BMI 22.46 ± 1.60kg / m2 participated in the study. Functional Movement Screen Test ™ (FMST™) battery was used in determining the functional movements of the participants, while Tecnobody Prokin 200 Bergamo/Italy was used to determine the total postural stability index values. All static balance measurements were evaluated as standing Double-Leg Eyes Open (DLEO), Eyes Open Single-Leg Dominant Non-Dominant (EOSL-DM and EOSL-ND). Since higher stability index values indicate lower stability, the participants were found to have a negative correlation between non-dominant leg static balance and HS. SM. and TSPU, and between dominant leg static balance and HS. SM. and TSPU. In addition, it was found out that, there was a negative correlation between non-dominant leg static balance, dominant leg static balance and double leg static balance and the FMST™ scores of the participants. The results of this research can be very effective in improving the educational process in the field of wrestling
