TYPOLOGY OF ANGKUL – ANGKUL FORMS AT BALINESE ETHNIC HOUSES IN DENPASAR
The form of Balinese Ethnic House generally is marked by the entry door which is often called by angkulangkul. The angkul-angkulform as a building that has a roof, the exit door and entry for the occupants of the house equipped with steps (stairs), and also with the forms of ornaments and natural materials. Initially, angkulangkul was an entering access for people into the house yard therefore the width of the entrance is only enabled for human circulation. Further developments illustrate that the form of angkul-angkul architecture changed in both the aspect of function, the dimensions of the entrance gate, and the form or appearance. This phenomenon can be found in the Denpasar city whose population is increasingly modern. There are many emerges of angkulangkul architecture forms in Denpasar with many variants, especially the form and dimensions that are not like angkul-angkul previously. This study aimed to study the typology of angkul-angkul architecture forms in Denpasar whose development is influenced by modernization. The method used in this research is qualitative rationalistic through the concept of angkul-angkul architectural approach, the concept of change of form, concept of form in architecture and lifestyle trend of society
ALIH KODE DAN CAMPUR KODE OLEH PARA PIMPINAN DI LINGKUNGAN PEMERINTAH KOTA DENPASAR
This research studies code switching and code mixing made by the leaders of the Government Office in Denpasar City. The background of the research is the communicative event made by leaders of the Government Office in Denpasar City. It discusses about three problems, such as 1) the pattern of code switching and code mixing found at the communication activity by the leaders at the office; 2) the forms and the factors causing the code switching; and 3) code mixing found at the communication activity by the leaders at the office. The data of the research were taken from the leaders of the Denpasar Office. They were taken by observation method with recording and note taking techniques. The result of the research shows that code switching found at the communication activity by the leaders at Denpasar Office involves three languages, they are Balinese, Indonesian, and English. The leaders like to switch the use of their language from Balinese to Indonesian, from Indonesian to Balinese, and from Indonesian to English. The code mixing found at the communication activity by the leaders at the office involves the three languages. It happens in the use of Indonesian elements in the use of Balinese, the use of Balinese elements in using Indonesian, and the use of English in using Indonesian language. Validation of Hourly GSMAP and Ground Base Estimate of Precipitation for Flood Monitoring in Kumamoto, Japan
GSMaP (Global Satellite Mapping Precipitation) satellite rainfall estimates are evaluated at the hourly time scale and spatial resolution 0.1 degree latitude x 0.1 degree longitude. The reference data came from AMEDAS (Automated Meteorological Data Acquisition System) station network of about 27 rain gauges over Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan. This region has very complex terrain and humidity which is characterized by typhoon. Hence, this area are often hit by flash flood. The research has been conducted to evaluate hourly GSMAP (i.e., GSMaP_MVK (Moving Vector with Kalman Filter) and GSMaP_NRT (Near Real Time)) data with AMEDAS data during flood events from 2003 to 2012 and to define the rainfall pattern which causes flood. Statistical analysis was used to evaluate the GSMaP data, both qualitative and quantitative. The result indicate that GSMaP_MVK was reasonably good at detecting precipitation events and GSMAP_NRT was inadequate to represent the rainfall AMEDAS data. Long term and short term rainfall pattern were observed over Kumamoto Prefecture before occurrence of the flood
GRAMMATICAL ERRORS IN COMMUNICATION BY THE STAFF OF GAPURA ANGKASA
The title of this paper is ‘’Grammatical Error in Communication by the staff of Gapura Angkasa.This research is about errors occured in the staff’ of Gapura Angkasa in communication when they handling the guest. Learning a second language is difficult for the staff because they have to learn about the grammar of the second language. In learning a second language, making errors cannot be avoided because the staff borrow the rules of their first language to a second language. Most of the staff assume that communication is the most difficult skill. Thus, the staff often make errors.
All the data based on the sentences composed by all of the staff. Those writing compositions are then quoted and collected as the data source. The methodology used in this paper is qualitative in which the data is collected by giving the assigment to several staff. Those collecting writing which had composed by the staff were then listed and each sentence which contains errors were circled or marked to be analyzed.
The data is analyzed based on the types of errors those are: omission, addition, error of verb tense, error of passive voice, error of prepositions, etc. The theory that is used for this paper is found in the book entitled ‘’Error analysis and inter language’’ (1973) by Corder. The theory applied for this paper is Error Analysis, Perspectives on Second Language Acquisition (1974) edited by Jack C. Richard also other theories to support it.
The result of the research is there are many errors made by the staff. The errors which found in the data are omission or addition of subject, verb, preposition, article, and suffix
Development of the Water Potential in River Estuary (Loloan) Based on Society for the Water Conservation in Saba Coastal Village Gianyar Regency
Saba village is located in Gianyar regency near by the coastal area, which is currently ±9,176 inhabitants. Water is a major necessity for life processes on earth, which means water is very important to human life. Potential water of the river flows from upstream to downstream wasted into the sea through the river estuary. Water as the most important natural resources often had a problem in its existence of its circulation and its spreading, therefore it is necessary to conserve water. This research examines the development of water potential in the river estuary based on the society for water conservationin Saba village based on SWOT analysis. Data collected:water potential, watershed topography, Saba village management structures, environmental conditions at river estuary and beaches.Analysis of potential water data using Ribasim software. The result is the water potency in dry season 0.88 m3/s, and rain season 1.141 m3/s. The potential water in the river estuary can be developed by the society by prioritizing the society initiatives that is the ability of management and maturity of a uniform society. The society thinks, formulates, plans, implements, and evaluates the needs in the development of water potentials submitted to Saba society organizations

LANDSLIDE HAZARDS DUE TO RAINFALL INTENSITY IN THE CALDERA OF MOUNT BATUR BALI
In order to ensure the safety of the visitors, the development planning of tourism areas requires a comprehensive study on the physical condition and disaster risk management, so that it can be applied effectively, efficiently, and in line with the sustainability requirements. In this case, the study on the physical condition focuses on the potential of natural disasters, especially landslide. This research was conducted in Terunyan Village, Kintamani Distric, Bangli Regency, Bali. Landslide often occurs in this village, especially during the rainy season, as it is surrounded by hills with low vegetation and bordered by a lake. Samples were collected from two hand bore points at slopes which have the highest risk to the public facilities and residences. GeoStudio 2012 program was used to analyze the rainfall infiltration, then it was linked to Slope/W to obtain the safety factor. The average rainfall intensity applied in this study was 125 mm/day, and the optimal duration of rain was 5 hours (based on the data provided by BMKG on 9 February, 2017). The results show that the impact of rainfall to the infiltration with the safety factor lower than 1.0 happened in the 2nd hours. The critical safety factor decreased from 0.963 to 0.623. The safety factor decreased drastically in the 4th to 5th hours of rain due to the drastic drop of the resisting force from 167 kPa to 124 kPa and the increase of driving force from 152 kPa to 200 kPa. The high and constant rain volume caused high seepage to the ground. Rain water filled the soil void and increased the pore pressure, then the soil became saturated and the internal friction angle decreased. This problem can be solved by controlling the seepage into the ground, which can be done by closing the open cracks and designing the upperground and underground drainage system

We are grateful to Ida Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa, Tuhan Yang Maha Esa for His blessing so this book, entitled “The Sustainable Life in Harmony: the managing of nature and cultural heritage For Prosperity”, can be completed as it scheduled. The publishing of this book in relation with the anniversary of Gianyar regency, where the National Coordination Meeting of the Indonesian heritage cities networking is being held and also international seminar which conducted in Balai Budaya Gianyar. The detailed of pre vent, the realization of the event, and evaluation or (post event) can be concluded as they scheduled. Pre event concerns with all the preparations which were done by the experts team of the Culture Office of Government of Gianyar, while the realization of the event was collaboration activities between the Government of Gianyar with the organizing committee of the Doctoral Program of Cultural Studies, Udayana University. The post event concerns with the expectation of the coming future activities. Having this book published, as the Organizing Committee we convey our deepest gratitude to Government of Gianyar which continuously cooperate in having the collaboration to cultural studies. Last but not least, we do hope that the presence of this book will give enlightment and a new spirit in realizing government programs of Gianyar as the heritage cities
