Efficacy of Catharanthus roseus extract against Dengue Virus Type 2 Infection in vitro
Catharanthus yoseus) known as Madagascar periwinkle is an herbal and traditional plant used for treatment
of various diseases. A study was caried out to test the cytotoxicity and antiviral efTects of methanol extract
from the leaves of C. roseus. The leaves of C. roseus were extracted using methanol to produce crude
methanol extract. Invitto cytotoxicity test was performed to determine the concentration value of the extract
causing 50% cell death (CC56) using MTT assay. The antiviral activity has been confirmed by conducting
foci forming unit reduction assay (FFURA) which involved post-treatmenl, pre-treatment and virucidal
tests. Cytotoxicity test was performed on Vero cells indicates the CCro value for C. roseus extract towards
Vero cells was 0,13 mg/ml. The 50% Effective Concentration, EC5e of C. roseus extract was 0.025 mg/ml-.
Selectivity index of C. raseus extract against DENV-2 was 5.2. Three treatments were used in the antivfal
test; 1) post-treatment, 2) pre-treatmen! and 3) virucidal. The results revealed that the post-treatment was
more effuctive in inhibiting viral replication compared to pre-treatment and virucidal. The results of this
research showed that C. roseus extract has good potential for prospective nature-based antiviral dru
Analytic hierarchy process method for minimize negative sustainability and environmental impacts
The concept of economic linearity that is, take, make, and discard, is no
longer relevant in product design, this is due to product design must meet
economically, safely and reliably shown by looking at the attributes inherent in the
product, which aims to make customers feel satisfied, buy go back and recommend the
product. However, with the increasing number of products that are not
environmentally friendly it is necessary to minimize the negative impact of
sustainability in designing products that require a recovery phase. This study aims to
determine the effect of sustainable product design in minimizing the negative impacts
caused by attitudes and behaviors that are influenced by the environment. The analysis
technique uses PLS 3.0 warp. and the Process Hierarchy Analysis (AHP) method. The
results of the design of this research product have a direct influence on the impact of
negative sustainability with a parameter coefficient of 0.609. This means, sustainable
product design is carried out, must pay attention to the negative impacts caused, then
test the factors that are more dominant relationships between variables using AHP that
produces. The most dominant factor in testing the sub-criteria that influence product
design in Minimizing the Impact of Negative Sustainability, from the results of tests
that have been done, then the behavior of the Environment with a value of 0.57 is the
conclusion that in designing the product in order to minimize the negative impact of
the influence due to the conditions used in Sustainable product design, the influence of
human environmental behavior on the environment becomes a major facto
HIC : Health Immunity Certificate Using NFC Technology for Controlling and Monitoring of COVID - 19 Patient Movement during and after MCO Period
Coronavirus disease (Covid-19) is an infectious disease caused by a newly first discovered
coronavirus in Wuhan, China. Statistics reveals more than 3 million of total cases with more than 900K
recovery and more than 200K deaths around the world as to date. Those recovered Covid-19 patients
already have Covid-19 immunity in their body system. Movement Control Order (MCO) is the
government enforcement policy during and after lockdown period for controlling the person’s movement
from red, yellow and green zone in combating the disease. During MCO period, it is vital to control and
monitorthose recovered Covid-19 patient movement so that when they pass each security road blocks,
they just show their health immunityid without having further explanation and clarification regarding
their current status to the authority party. In response to Covid-19 issues, we propose a Health Immunity
Certificate (HIC) with Near Field Communication (NFC) tag that acts as recovered patient’s immunity
passports or Patient Identification (PID). This certificate allows those Covid-19 recovered patient to be
exempted from any movement restrictions from or to red, yellow or green zone to perform their daily
activity. Our HIC offers a high security with 2 way encryption-decryption id. Prior to simulation done,
resultsindicate that HIC system is executed at average of 0.001245 seconds of each HIC scans at each
particular roadblock. This shows that our proposed HIC may contribute to significant usage to those
Covid-19 frontliners such as Majlis Keselamatan Nasional (MKN), security agencies or even medical
practitioners
Extending the information systems success model with transformational leadership and compatibility
The proven competency of online learning has made it an integral means of learning.
Notably, with minimum resources and infrastructure, online learning improves education
quality. Online learning adoption and usage have been scrutinized in diverse settings.
Somehow, in Jordan, the impact of compatibility and Transformational Leadership (TL)
has not been sufficiently explored. Hence, in predicting students’ performance, this paper
presents the application of the Information System (IS) success Model from Delone and
Mclean, incorporating the concepts of compatibility and TL as predecessors to user
contentment and actual usage. The primary data were obtained from 448 students from 9
state-funded Jordanianu niversities through the application of questionnaire. A framework
comprising 6 variables was proposed in this cross-sectional study and the data analyses
point to 3major outcomes. First, the whole quality, comprising the system, data, and service
quality, compatibility and TL positively impact user satisfaction and actual use. Secondly,
user satisfaction is notably predicted by actual use. Thirdly, there is positive effect of user
satisfaction and actual use on students’ performance. Students from 9state funded
universities made up the study population and the variables were examined at a single time
point. The experience gained in online learning application would change
students’opinions. However, a cross-sectional study like the present study may not detect
such change. Through combining the general quality, TL, compatibility, actual use and
client satisfaction to appraise the impact of online learning amongst students in 9 Jordanian
universities, this study finding reinforce past findings on information systems
Characterisation of yeasts isolated from different local fruits and plant parts and their potential as probiotics
Thirteen (n = 13) yeast strains isolated from
different local fruits and plant parts were characterised by
polymerase chain reaction–restriction fragment length
polymorphism analysis. By using four restriction
endonucleases (AluI, Hae-III, Hind III and HinfI) on
amplicon-Targetedinternal Transcribed Spacer 1 (ITS1)
and ITS2 regions, all yeast strains (n =13) were found to
be Saccharomycessensuscripto group with Hae III which
was the best limiting enzyme to differentiate between S.
cerevisiae/S. paradoxus (325, 230, 170 and 125 bp) and
S. bayanus/S. postrianus (495, 230 and 125 bp). Based on
5.8s rRNA gene, six yeast strains were identified as
Saccharomyces cerevisiae, three strains were identified as
S. paradoxus, and two strains were identified as S.
bayanus and S. postrianus each. Probiotic test was
conducted on 13 yeast strains which were grown on bile
salt with concentrations from 0.3 to 1%. All strains were
also examined for bile deconjugation, lysozyme
tolerance and ability to utilise prebiotics. All yeast strains
grew in bile salt at 0.3% concentration. However,
only S. cerevisiaevar WU-Y2 (SM16) survived in 1%
concentration. In bile deconjugation test, all yeast strains
demonstrated reduction in growth and low tolerance
towards high concentration of lysozyme (100 ppm). The
yeast strains also revealed low growth in inulin, xylitol
and lactulose (2% v/w)
Utilizing the AR and mobile apps to show the rhetorical miracle of the fetal growth stages according Quran
The Qur'an-based Fetal/Fetus growth using Augmented Reality (AR) was produced for teenagers,
adults and mothers to learn the Quran-based Fetal development and learn more efficiently in school.
Current learning strategies are changed by AR developments and the use of mobile phones. This app
might have the option to help individuals learn about the evolution of the Quran-based Fetal that is
increasingly intuitive and enjoyable. Likewise, this app will use 3-D smart elements, a sound, and
display information with the goal of individuals making sure to use this app. ADDIE technology is
separated into five main areas, namely the beginning of the examination stages, planning stages,
improvement stages, implementation stages and evaluation stages. Using the ADDIE strategy ensures
that the progress of the tire works easily and in order. This application supported by the different three
languages which are Arabic, English and Malay language
Web context and the multiple semantic linguistic origins and its impacts on the prophet’s text
The web content control system is an integrated software package that
constitutes a system for managing the content to be published and displayed for
visitors and members of the site, and it provides tools to control the publishing
process, and these systems usually work on the Internet, although they can also be
run on the local network. So, This research aims to apply a linguistic study of the
phenomenon of multiplicity of semantics and linguistic meanings to some of the
words mentioned in the Prophet’s Hadith, and the extent of the influence of this
semantic multiplication in determining the meaning of the prophetic text, and whether
or not it is based on a separation in a legal rule of worship or not, with an attempt to
weight between multiple and different meanings and meanings, Clarification of
weightings, to the conclusion that linking semantic linguistic studies with Islamic
studies through analyzing their texts and explaining their linguistic phenomena; One
of the important and useful studies in human research, and the research will follow the descriptive analytical method, as the research chose some words from the hadith
of the Prophet, as its meanings and linguistic origins multiplied, so he analyzed them
and returned them to their semantic linguistic origins used by the Arabs, then applied
those indications to the word in the context of the Prophet’s text, And the
explanations of the meanings and meanings indicated by those contexts, then
weighting between the different meanings and indications in accordance with the
linguistic and legal principles, and among the results of the research that the
linguistic studies have a close link to the legal studies, and that the multiple semantic
assets may have a significant impact in determining the meaning of the hadith, And it
is based on determining the different legal rule of worship in it
The triggers of personality traits, entrepreneurial motivation, and competencies: a qualitative study of e- commerce venture creation in Malaysia
The last three decades have revealed the primary elements of entrepreneurship, especially for
newly-created venture creation processes, throughout various works and heavy emphasis by scholars. An
entrepreneur can be viewed as the principal component in entrepreneurship; they are tasked with creating new
ventures, which requires cognitive and personality motivations and specific competencies to achieve such aim.
Prior scholars investigating the elements of entrepreneurial psychology have succinctly viewed the general
process of new venture creation, whereas e-commerce ventures have been disregarded. Furthermore, such works
have expended the least efforts on entrepreneurial competencies resulting in e-commerce new venture creations.
Accordingly, this study is attempting to bridge such gap and aims to distinguish the role played by personality
traits, motivation, and competencies that promote new e-commerce ventures creation in Malaysia. To this end, a
case study approach was implemented by which data collection was undertaken via interviews with 12 ecommerce entrepreneurs, which spanned from May 2013 until December 2014. As a result, seven crucial
components of personalities were found to impact e-commerce new ventures in Malaysia, such as creativity,
risk-taking, inspiration, need for autonomy and freedom, tolerance of ambiguity, hardworking and persistence,
and optimism. Entrepreneurs could be driven by internal and external motivations, thus leading the
identification of two groups of entrepreneurial motivation with regard to the former in this work, namely: (i)
need for achievement, and (ii) interest. In contrast, external motivation was an outcome following
correspondence with a conducive climate, such as consumers, family members, and surrounding industries. This
resulted in an elevated entrepreneur motivation influencing the overall business success. Furthermore, the
findings underlined the substantial contribution of entrepreneurial competencies in terms of computer and
communication skills both towards new ventures creatio
The online speech and the subject vivacity of Qur’anic discourse and its effect in semantic: a rhetorical and analytical study
The means of developing Islamic discourse, from engagement to websites and
social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc.), indicate that the direct means of Islamic
discourse are many, including: Friday sermon, sermon, lecture, seminar, dialogue
and debate. Among the most important innovative features of direct Islamic
discourse: integration, balance, order of ideas, participation, compassion, civility,
discussion, and attractiveness in presentation. The most important indirect means of
Islamic discourse are the electronic means of communication through the
Internet.Without doubt, the allocation of properties of the composition for the
Quranic discourse helps to understand semantic, and that dosen’t mean the
indication here as the first result from the composition, because this result was
ascertaining in any level of expression, the composition of it came in a familiar style.
What I meant was the second result, as launched by Abdul al-Qahir al-Jurjani (alma’ani al-Thawani) that does not happen to the range of mind’s perception except
when they recite the composition with expressive capabilities, and composition
movements. It was acknowledged that the context represents the foundation of
indicators and its non-existence will lead to the scattered vocabularies that is not governed by; any relationship, because it does not connect to any context that can
connect it to elements, consequently any analytical process for compositions will not
be meaningful; because it is essential to depict the context with the analysis, and with
the depiction of the context, the compositions obtains distinguish form in its
expression’s vivacity, in which it widen different trends which some if it last long, and
some displayed and some which occupy deeper subject, which contribute to its name
of subject vivacity. The effect of this vivacity undoubtedly determines the
understanding of indications of the Quranic discourse. the research presents
characteristics of Quranic discourse commencing the meaning of discourse and its
types, then presenting the distinguished style of discourse in the Holy Quran, its
features and characteristics. then subject vivacity and this allocates the initial
connections between subject vivacity and Quranic discourse and the consolation of
this connection. finally conclude the important results followed by some
recommendations
Alternative way to reducing poverty and inequality in Nigeria from Islam perspective
Poverty and inequality are global phenomena that have increased in recent
times. The condition of poverty is alarming at global level as it was reported
that some 57million children were out of school. Hence Ahmad and Hassan
(2015) posit that half of this number was in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). With
Nigeria as the largest nation in Africa thus it has the highest figure of these
out of school children. Poverty indicates lack of income and necessary ways
to achieve a standard of living. Islamic finance plays critical role in
reducing the level of poverty and inequality through the profit and loss
sharing among investors. Therefore, this study explores alternative way to
reduce poverty and inequality from Islamic perspective in Nigeria. This
would contribute to the economic development of the country. The method
adopted is to review previous literature on the impacts of various Islamic
financial instruments in addressing the menace of poverty and economic
inequality. The study concludes that profit and loss products of Musharakah
and Mudarabah, and cost based products which include Murabaha, Ijarah,
Sukuk contribute to poverty reduction and promote economic activities. It thus recommends the adoption of these products in Nigeria to address the
prevailing infrastructural deficit and promote economic development
