    No full text
This chapter initially provides an overview of key performance indicators in elite beach soccer that have been established in the literature. A total of 20 tactical and technical indicators were then identified to be employed in the present study. The significant indicators were then identified through principal component analysis with varimax rotation. It was demonstrated from the study that the following performance indicators, i.e. shot at front third, chances created, goals scored at the first period, goals scored at the second period, goals scored at the third period, goals scored at extra time, shot at back third, pass at back third, interception, turnover, complete save by the keeper, uncomplete save by the keeper, shot inside a box as well as shot outside box are non-trivial in evaluating the performance of a given team. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2020

Methods: Data collection for socio-demographic characteristics of subjects was conducted by using a questionnaire. Meanwhile, anthropometry data including weight and height were measured using calibrated tools. Body Mass Index (BMI)-for-age z-score was calculated to classify BMI-for-age category of subjects according to gender. The population taken in this study was n=317 subjects. Results: This study found that the overall prevalence of obesity was 18.3%. Overall, 54.6% of subjects had normal weight while overweight accounted for 24.9% of the subjects involved. Only 2.2% of subjects were categorized as underweight. Chrysanthemum indicum (C.indicum) plants, also known as “bunga kekwa” in Malaysia has long history used in Chinese traditional herbal medicines, with anti-oxidants, anti‑inflammatory and anti-cancer properties. This study was to determine the anti-cancer activity of buds and flowers of C.indicum in aqueous extracts on human acute promyelocytic leukaemia cancer HL-60 cell lines. The powder of bud and flower were macerated in the sterile distilled water for 24 hr. The bud aqueous (BA) and flower aqueous (FA) extracts were concentrated under reduced pressure using rotary evaporator. The cells were treated at 12.5 µg/ml, 25 µg/ml, 50 µg/ml, 100 µg/ml, 200 µg/ml and 400 µg/ml and incubated for 24, 48 and 72 hr. The cellular morphology of HL-60 cells was observed by phase contrast microscopy while the cytotoxic activity was determined using MTT assay. BA and FA extracts showed significant reduction of HL-60 cell viability at 100, 200 and 400 µg/ml in all incubation period. Both extract also showed low cytotoxic activity against HL-60 cells (p <0.05) with IC50 value of 305 µg/ml and 320 µg/ml respectively at 24 hr, 310 µg/ml and 205 µg/ml respectively at 48 hr and 180 µg/ml and 170 µg/ml respectively at 72 hr. Even though BA and FA aqueous extracts were unable to kill the HL-60 cell lines effectively, the results still show some promising effect for C.indicum plant in treatment of blood cancer

Governance issues in Malaysia limited liability partnerships (LLP)

    No full text
Limited liability partnerships (LLP) are a new hybrid business vehicle in Malaysia that are governed under the Limited Liability Partnerships Act 2012. The main uniqueness of LLPs is that they can be set up not only by business partners, but any two or more individuals - from family members, professionals, and other legal entity such as the Federal Teritory of Labuan or even the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM). This paper dliberates the corporate governance models from the other countries that are pertinent to the current practices for LLPs. In comparison with other countries such as United Kingdom, India and Singapore, the Malaysian LLP has similar attributes as a body corporate, offering internal flexibility similar to a partnership, but regulated by the members’ or partnership agreement. Despite being a body corporate, LLPs face the inappropriteness of direct applications of corporate governance principles, as profound systems to control and manage LLPs within the accontability of its partners and stakeholders. Thus, this paper highlights the major governance issues for the LLPs in Malaysia: inclusive jurisdictions or legal issues and other aspects

    No full text
The ecological theory of the environment plays an important role in the development and characterization of an individual's character. This theory will show the process of development that develops between the individual and the environment. The character of an individual will shape from the influence of the surrounding environment such as family, friends, school, teachers, workplace and so on. This paper will discuss the integration of environmental ecological theory into aspects of Islamic and western thought in the face of the revolutionary 4.0 era. The ecological theory of the environment will be based on Bronfenbrenner's ecological theory as well as Ibn Khaldun's ecological theory. Research on three aspects of the activity, role model, and practice will be detailed. This method of study uses documentary analysis based on Ibn Khaldun's book of scripture and Bronfenbrenner's writings. As a result of this study, it is found that these three aspects are in line with human needs. Therefore, this study is seen as contributing to the theory and can serve as a new reference and concept to society. Implications of this study apply the theory of the environment not only in education but in all fields
