The importance of Ibn Masoud's reading to scientistsأهمية قراءة ابن مسعود عند العلماء
The problem of study lies in mode of recitation of Ibn Masoud in the books of Interpretation,
Language and Hadith, and exposes its importance among scholars, such as interpreters, jurists, and
linguists, to easy reference, as this paper aims to explain the impact of Ibn Masoud's mode of
recitation on interpretation, language, jurisprudence and others. And the approach followed in this
study: Description and analysis of Ibn Masoud's mode of recitation, its importance, and the reasons
for not accepting it, with examples showing that. In the end, the researcher concluded that Ibn
Masoud’s mode of recitation is great importance to the scholars. It is, even if one of the conditions
of the correctness of the reading is broken in it, except that they have benefited from it a lot in the
Hadith, interpretation, or clarification of shariah rulings, as its importance appears in
understanding the texts and eliciting judgments. This shows us the effect of Ibn Masoud’s mode
of recitation on the inference of the sub-rulings, as its importance is highlighted in the
understanding of the texts. The scholars have agreed to accept the seven or ten modes of recitation.
Other than that is an anomaly that is not true to reciting it like it's Qur’an, unless it is compatible
with the Arabic language, even if it is one of accepted side in terms of conditions of Arabic
language. And its agree with one of the drawing of one of the Ottoman Qur’ans, even if possible.
And its transmitted chain is correct. These three pillars are controls for correct the mode of
recitation, which cannot be rejected, and if one of these three pillars is missed, it is a weak and
anomaly, takes the character of interpretation or explanation, and Ibn Masoud’s mode of recitation
is correct in single transmitted chain, and it has a compatible with Arabic but missed the Ottoman
Qur’an drawing
An application of Malay short-form word conversion using levenshtein distance
Formerly, short-form word was widely used in the field of journalism.
However, nowadays, short-form word has been widely used by many
people, especially in online communication. These short-form words
trigger problems in the field of data mining, especially those involving
online text processing. It leads to inaccurate result of text mining
activities. On the other hand, only few works have investigated on
Malay short-form word identification and conversion. Therefore, this
work aims to develop an application that can identify and convert
Malay short-form words into its’ full word. In order to develop this
application, the short-form rules need to be carefully examined. The
formal rules from Dewan Bahasa & Pustaka (DBP) are used as the
primary reference for generating the short form word identification
algorithm. While for the conversion algorithm, Levenshtein Distance
(LD) is used to measure the similarity. The rule-based technique is
also used as a complement to LD technique. As a result, 70.27% of
the Malay short-form words have been correctly converted into their
full words. The conversion rate is quite promising, and this work can
be further strengthened by incorporating more rules into the algorithm
The risk and performance of ethically compliant investment
This paper presents a discussion of prior literature on the risk and performance of ethically compliant equity. This review of literature
provides an organised evaluation of the available studies in ethical investment. In particular, this paper presents surveys of literature
concerning shariah-compliant equity and socially responsible investments. The discussion of the literature synthesises the
information in the respective studies into a summary. Each subsection provides an analysis of the information gathered by first
providing an overview of the current empirical studies and, second, identifying gaps and showing the limitation of theoretical views
in the existing studies. Discussion in previous literature emphases only one type of ethical investment, however, this paper, on the
other hand, covers both the religious and social perspectives of ethics, which provide a more comprehensive view of ethics. The
paper finds out that studies on the risk and performance of ethically compliant investment report mixed results. This is due to the
disparities in the research methodological approach. However, it is almost unanimous that ethical funds demonstrate higher stability
(lower risk) during the financial crisis and tend to outperform the conventional funds during this state of financial uncertainty. Future
studies can conduct more firm-level analysis and integrates both screening criteria (shariah and socially responsible screening) to
reconcile the results
Responsible tourism, destination sustainability and quality of life: a preliminary finding
Apart from the positive economic impact, tourism also gives negative impact to destinations,
affecting their environmental and socio-cultural elements of communities living in the areas.
Sustainability principles refer to the environmental, economic and socio-cultural aspects of tourism
development, therefore, sustainable tourism should utilize the optimal environmental resources that
are key elements in tourism development, maintain important ecological processes and also help
conserve natural resources and biodiversity. Due to several sustainability challenges, responsible
tourism was introduced to enhance current sustainable tourism development. The principles of
responsible tourism are developing a win-win situation between minimizing the negative effects and
benefiting the host community and contributing positively to the preservation of nature and culture.
This paper presents a preliminary finding on the relationship between responsible tourism and quality
of life as well as the relationship between destination sustainability and quality of life. The researcher
used an online survey as the method of data collection and data was analysed using SPSS. The results
showed that responsible tourism and destination sustainability had a significant relationship with
quality of life. From the results, it indicates that implementation of sustainable practices are important
for a good quality of life among local communities
Preventive strategies of SSI: nurses' knowledge in pre-operative and post-operative in surgical site care
Some patients’ condition occasionally necessitates medical surgical operations. However, in some
cases, the proper care of such resultant surgical sites fails to meet the professional standards due to
diverse reasons and knowledge inadequacy. As such, infections are prone to manifest. Nonetheless,
many researchers across the globe have sought to determine best nursing practices and ways of
preventing such surgical site infections. Hence, this review purposed to detail the current prevention
strategies of the surgical site infections and the subsequent improvement approaches within the
hospital setups. The previous literature was thus obtained from three major journal databases;
CINAHL, PubMed and Medline. Subsequently, the resultant journal articles from the previous
researchers consistently confirm the need for strict adherence to the standard operation protocols for
the prevention of both pre-operative and post-operative infections. Other measures revolve around
hygiene; hand cleaning using antiseptic substances, use of sterile wound dressing materials, use of
antiseptic soaps to clean surface. Some studies also confirm the need to remove the wound dressing
materials between 24 and 48 hours. Nonetheless, studies also confirm that essence of training to
bolster nurses’ knowledge about the prevention strategies of the surgical site infections. Based on
such empirical data, it becomes apparent that the prevention measures rotate around the adherence
to policies, inculcating strict hygiene and also improving nurses’ knowledge

Living support characteristics among mentally healthy elderly: a state-wide descriptive study in Malaysia
Background: Despite the physiological losses and the psychosocial stresses related to agerelated diseases, some elderly still able to manage them successfully which lower their
psychological distress. This study aims to describe the pattern of living support characteristics
among the mentally healthy elderly in a state in Malaysia East Coast.
Materials and Methods: A state-wide community based cross-sectional study focusing on the
elderly with the mentally stable state, having normal/mild cognitive function with satisfactory
social skill was conducted. A cluster random sampling technique was applied, and the
interviewer guided questionnaire by using a standard proforma was utilized to collect the
demographic, physical health, and living support data.
Result: This study included 1013 elderly, majority (86.4%) were young elderly aged between
60 and 74 years with almost equal males and females. The living support sub-domains were
presented into social support, economic, and physical living support. They demonstrated a
sufficient economic backup where almost all of them own some property despite low monthly
income. Further, they were socially well supported, as 90.6% of them reported living with
families even though most of them were single and widowed and 90.3% of them having
caregivers to take care of them if they are ill. Besides, most mentally healthy agers reported live
in a safe living environment (96.1%). Our study also discovered about three-quarter of our
respondents used social media; mainly WhatsApp and Facebook.
Conclusion: The present study revealed a few important living support elements among
mentally healthy elders in the local setting. Despite having a low monthly income, the older
persons with good mental health in this study own some assets at a late age. They lived with
their family who acts as a caregiver at any time when they are sick and secured with safe living
hood and had fair access to mobile communications. These characteristics should be examined
further to prove their influence on geriatric mental health
SHARIAH-COMPLIANT OF NURSING CHILD DOCUMENTATION MODEL BUILDING
The Shariah-compliant nursing child documentation model was developed due to the variety
of ways and forms of breastfeeding among Muslim communities in Malaysia. This article aims to
explain the model of nursing child documentation based on the perspective of the Shariah maqasid in
managing Shariah-compliant nursing child issues. The methodology used is qualitative research using
case study design and obtaining research data through document analysis and interviews. Study found
that the model conforms to the al-Khams dharuriyyat element which involves the preservation of
religion and descent. The model also has the potential to be managed at the state religious office or
nationally and internationally in resolving marital issues and a number of other social issues, in
ensuring the well-being of families and family harmony
Assessment of metal concentrations in Polymesoda expansa from Sungai Geting, Tumpat, Kelantan and associated health risk
The spatial distribution of lead, zinc, cadmium, copper, and arsenic in Polymesoda
expansa from Sungai Geting, Tumpat Kelantan were determined with inductively coupled
plasma – mass spectrometer, in comparison to the levels in their surrounding water body. The
objectives of this research was to determine the possible health risks associated with heavy metal
accumulation via consumption of Polymesoda expansa by using Target Hazard Quotient (THQ).
The data indicate have associations between the concentrations of metal measured in study
sampled and the levels observed at the sites. The results suggested that the concentration of
arsenic in Polymesoda expansa was relatively higher than those studied elements. The
concentration of arsenic in studied sample demonstrate the sources of the antropogenic inputs.
In terms of risk assessment, concentrations of metals in Polymesoda expansa were significantly
below the Malaysian Food Regulation 1985
