AQUATIC INSECT LARVAE AS AN INDICATOR OF ECOLOGICAL INTEGRITY OF PANASEN UPSTREAM, TONDANO WATERSHED, NORTH SULAWESI
The upstream ecological integrity facing anthropogenic pressures has been assessed linked to the community of aquatic insect larvae inhabiting. This paper evaluate the ecological integrity of the Panasen Stream by determining the distribution and environmental parameters affecting the community of aquatic insect’s larvae in the Tondano Watershed. Physical and chemical parameters such as temperature, velocity, pH, Dissolved Oxygen, Conductivity, Turbidity, Hardness, Total Suspended Solids, Ammonia and Total Phosphate Water were collected. PCA analysis showed that current velocity, depth and width of the stream greatly affected the distribution and abundance of aquatic insect larvae, precipitation and substrate. Land use and active volcanic results in unsustainable anthropogenic activities have contributed to lowering the water quality, low species richness and weak ecological integrity of the Panasen Strea
AUTOMATED SOLAR RADIO BURST DETECTION ON RADIO SPECTRUM: A REVIEW OF TECHNIQUES IN IMAGE PROCESSING
The information of solar atmosphere was obtained after investigating the recording radiation of the space mission. With technology growing recently, a lot of solar radio receiver was introduced to monitor the solar radio activity on the ground with high efficiency. It is recorded in every second for 24 hours per day. A massive of solar radio spectra data produced every day that makes it impossible to identify, whether the data contain burst or not. By doing manual detection, human effort and error become the issues when the solar astronomer needs the fast and accurate result. Recently, the success of various techniques in image processing to identify solar radio burst automatically was presented. This paper reviews previous technique in image processing. This discussion will help the solar astronomer to find the best technique in pre-processing before moving into the next stage for detection of solar radio burst
CLIMATE CHANGES IMPACTS TOWARDS SEDIMENTATION RATE AT TERENGGANU RIVER, TERENGGANU, MALAYSIA
The climate changes caused by rainfall and stream flow are not the major contribution the changing of water level. This study was carried out at Terengganu River Basin in wet and dry season to assess the sedimentation problem and its relationship with hydrological characteristic. Three parameters analyzed based on in-situ and ex-situ analysis according to the correlation matrix and linear regression methods. The TSS (mg/L), Turbidity (NTU) and SSC (mg/L) were higher during dry season compared wet season caused by El Nino phenomenon (January 2016). There are higher positive correlation between SSC and TSS, R²= 0.924 (wet season) and R² = 0.841 (dry season), the correlation between the observation (Q) and the TSS is no significant R² = 0.057 (wet season) and R² = 0.001 (dry season). The main contributors of sedimentation problems in Terengganu River caused by the climate changes phenomenon
The correlation between antropometric indices and lipid profile indices among Malay obese attributes
Obesity is representation of an excessive fat accumution in enlarged adipose tissues in the body that results in decreased physical activity.
Obesity etiopathology is influenced by genetic and environmental
factors besides that obesity is associated with cardiovascular disorder. This cross-sectional study aimed to determine correlation of anthropometric indices with lipid profile indices among Malay obese people. A total of 193 subjects were included from Terengganu in this study as per inclusion criteria. The anthropometric measurements; [body mass .index (BMI). waist circumference (WC). hip circumference (HC). waist to hip ratio (WHR). waist
to height ratio (WHLR), abdominal volume Index (AVI), con icity index (CI)], and associated lipid profile indices; [triglyceride (TG), total cholestrol (TC), HDL, LDL, TG/HDL, and LDL/HDL] of the subjects were calculated. Besides descriptive analysis of age, gender, anthropometric measurements and lipid profile's means were determined and correlation analysis was performed using Pearson's correlation. The mean age values for obese were male 39.20 ± 8.70 and fcm ale 41.08± 1.01, and for non-obese were male 29.82 ± 1.27 and female 33.28 ± 1.25. The comparison of the means or anthropometric measurement and lipid profile has shown significant results between both groups. Results indicated that TG showed good correlation with WC (r=0.420), WHR (r=0.500 and AVI (r=0.407), while TG/HDL has also shown good correlation with WC (r=0.437), WHR (r=0.489) and AVI (r=0.426). ln conclusion. the lipid profile (TG and TG/J IDL) significantly correlates with anthropometric measurements (WC.WHR, and AVI), which indicates obesity related cardiac risk factors
Sensitivity and Q-Factor trade-off analysis of MEMS pressure sensor for bladder implants
Ultra-small and highly sensitive MEMS bladder sensor has to be aligned with efficient wireless coupling to meet the
requirements of minimally invasive implantation. In this study, finite element analysis (FEA) is conducted to
investigate sensor's sensitivity and Q-factor on MEMS capacitive pressure sensor. The optimum geometry dimension
of slotted diaphragm and square coil were analyzed in order to achieve target of high sensor's sensitivity and high
quality factor with appropriate frequency sensing meant for bladder sensing application. From capacitive analysis,
the optimized parameters were obtained as diaphragm area, A= 1000 um x 1000 um, air gap = 4 um and diaphragm's
thickness = 4 um. The capacitive sensitivity of diaphragm is obtained = 2.22 x 10(-1) mmHg(-1) and sensor's sensitivity
45.8 kHz/mmHg for operating frequency in range of 55 - 62 MHz. The inductance value of 3.14 uH and Q factor of 63
were obtained at optimum value considering trade off between sensor's sensitivity and the q factor

Challenges and coping strategies: Perspectives of muslim international graduate students in Malaysian universities
This recent decade has observed an influx of Muslim students who migrate to other Muslim
countries abroad to further their studies, mainly at postgraduate levels (Masters or Doctor of Philosophy).
The influx of Muslim international postgraduate students potentially gives a positive impact on the
migrated universities in terms of income generation. Malaysian public universities have received an
increasing number of Muslim international postgraduate students registering each year, especially from
the Middle East such as Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Oman, Lebanon, Yemen, and a few others. Besides
noticing the positive impact that these students have brought; that are, to promote Malaysia to become an
Islamic educational tourism hub, little is known; however, about their struggles to meet the language
barrier, academic challenges, and cultural barriers they face with the local community. To those
universities that depend largely on the income generated from international students’ fees, the need to
understand their problems, as well as to maintain this increasing figure earned each year is therefore
urgent. This study aims to review the related literature pertaining to the challenges and perils experienced
by Muslim international postgraduate students while undergoing their study at public universities in
Malaysia, as well as to identify the coping strategies they have taken in meeting the challenges. This
study is significant in terms of providing information to the top management of public universities in
Malaysia in receiving international students
B-CAKNA: Cancer education for timely screening & prevention of breast cancer.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer and the leading cause of cancer death among women in Malaysia. Preventive activities of breast health especially mammogram screening was found to be effective in reducing the mortality and morbidities related to breast cancer. Mammogram screening for example, may reduce death from breast cancer up to 35%. However, uptake of screening is still unsatisfactory and advanced presentation of breast cancer remains. Existing web or app-based breast cancer education lack information on breast cancer screening method that should be done according to the individualized risk category of the user. Thus we designed a Malay medium app and web-based breast cancer education with suggestion of screening method based on personalized user risk category. It also contains vital information about mammogram, prevention of breast cancer and method of breast self-examination which will increase the knowledge, awareness and increases the chance of early detection of breast cancer. The objective is to increase the knowledge and awareness of breast cancer and its screening, thus increasing the chance of early detection of breast cancer through a web-and app- based education. We also intend to measure the effectiveness of the in increasing knowledge of breast cancer with the education medium
